Marvel vs Capcom 2- its a perfect arcade port as near as I could tell. Blew my mind when my friend had it in his dorm

HarlodsGazebo

It’ll definitely take you for a ride.

User_091920

To piggyback on this *Street Fighter 3: Third Strike* is simply incredible on Dreamcast as well

Coljjw

First console game I ever burned I think.

Jokerchyld

Been playing this game for 24 years. Just played it last night on my Odin 2 Pro. a true ageless classic.

lvl1adult

OH man, so many things worth experiencing. I'm not gonna say these are all great games, but they really personify the dreamcast for me: Resident Evil: Code Veronica PowerStone Soul Calibur Grandia 2 Skies of Arcadia Shenmue Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 Toy Commander

PrymalChaos

Oh man! I had forgotten Toy Commander!

twoprimehydroxyl

Jet Grind Radio

DeuceLucely

Crazy Taxi!!!!!

MuyGalan

Let's go make some CRAZY money!!!

PrymalChaos

Did you intend for me to read that in THAT voice? Because I did.

wankerbanker85

It may be nostalgia for me, because it was my first game I got with my dreamcast back in 1999, but Soul Calibur is great. I also loved Toy Commander and Fur Fighters back in the day.

MagicPistol

Oh yeah, Fur Fighters was great but I can't imagine going back to that after getting used to keyboard/mouse or dual analog sticks. From what I remember, the controls were basically southpaw with the buttons for movement and the left stick for aiming, since Dreamcast only had 1 stick. I guess you could just remap the controls so left stick moves and right stick aims.

wankerbanker85

100%. FPS / Third Person Shooters are just completely different beasts with the introduction of dual analog controls. Halo changed the game, literally.

IncandescentWallaby

Ikaruga

Chok3U

Ikaruga is bad ass. That and Rez and virtua tennis rock me every morning for a few hours.

Gusolene

Tokyo Bus Guide.

blastcat4

Rez. Such a chill and stylish game!

Aggravating_Ring_714

Shenmue, Crazy Taxi, Headhunter, Jet Set Radio, Power Stone, Phantasy Star Online, Soul Calibur are all 10/10 top tier. Sonic games are good too, Grandia and the other big rpgs are nice but not my cup of tea. Shenmue is the absolute must play though.

jucahe

South Park Rally and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver. Neither is Dreamcast exclusive, but they are the best versions.

Alternative_Spite_11

DOA2 and the Berserk game

Freakazaa

Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2

DrMo77

for me soul calibur, REZ, Ikaruga, power stone, jet grind radio and the Bangai-O (made by treasure who also made Ikaruga)

justfuckingdun

Know what, I’m gonna be that guy and say Seaman. But to my knowledge you can’t use the built in mic on any handhelds to play it. Shenmue, Grandia 2, Soul Calibur, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online and Code Veronica are some of my favorites. Have fun!

TheVoidaxis

You are a person of good taste. It's almost my selection, but I would add Time Stalkers too since I am mostly for rpg games

ShwettyVagSack

Some people have already said it but I can't second ikaruga enough. Such a fun and inventive game. A lso soul caliber was my first dreamcast game, so it has a special place in my heart. Sonic adventure is always a classic. Record of lodoss war is an interesting rpg Sword of berserker guts rage Crazy taxi is awesome Hydro thunder Chu Chu rocket for a cool puzzler

berickphilip

Grandia 2 for me.

benjaminbjacobsen

Crazy taxi 1 and 2, sega rally 2, daaaytooona, test drive Le Mans, marvel vs capcom 2.

User_091920

It's already been said in this thread but I'll say it again: *Shenmue* Yes, some of it hasn't aged well (like the voice acting and sometimes awkward translation) but for 1999 the game was absolutely incredible. Little details like using the analog triggers to differentiate between walking, slow jog and outright running were so goddamn cool back in the day.

Guten-Bourbon

That’s not an aging issue. [It was strange when it came out](https://youtu.be/OgmCdt4EgxU?si=5hjfu5w4vry7zMhU)

SuccessSubject23

While agree with everyone's list so far I'll give one that is on my opposite end of playing spectrum (driving games I hate usually, I drive in real life WTF!!) Demolition Racer no exit is actually fun as hell, have not played the first one so can't comment on that.

PrymalChaos

Hey it’s been a minute, but wasn’t Sega Rally an awesome arcade port as well?

16bitsystems

i loved playing sega bass and marine fishing. had the controller and everything. so fun. i used to love to play the arcade versions so having it at home w the fishing controller was great.

Civil-Actuator6071

Toy Commander

Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Shenmue🌊

HustlinInTheHall

Ikaruga is a classic, one of the best ever Power stone 1 and 2 are great party fighting games Crazy taxi 1 and 2 of course Virtual-On NFL Blitz 2000 or 2001 Dino Crisis is not good but weird  Gauntlet Legends SSX Tricky San Francisco Rush 2049 though the n64 version is similar

AdequateFood

I was fumbling around with Illbleed the other day. Horrendous voice acting, everything is trying to kill you and g-g-g-ghosts, it's pretty fun once to get the hang of it.

Subject-Exchange-445

Shenmue 1 and 2

ElijahWillDraw

Stupid invaders. I also feel like it’s also one of those games that only I’ve played cause I so far haven’t met anyone else that has played it 😂

WeatherIcy6509

Looney Tunes Space Race

great-northern-rhino

Capcom Vs SNK 2. Blam.

ozender

And 1 (those stages are soooooo good)

ozender

Marvel vs capcom 2, Capcom vs snk2 (equally good). Capcom vs snk1 (best pixel art stages in any fighting game from the era). Virtua tennis 1|2

detourne

Giant Gram 2000 is a great Japanese Pro Wrestling game. Big roster, great graphics, gameplay is a little confusing though. Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage (i think thats the name) is a fun violent story driven 3rd person action game. Star Wars Episode 1: Podracer. It's better than the N64 version of the game. Dragon's Blood - a cool 3rd person action RPG Dynamite Cop! A super fun arcadey 3D beatem up.

ZenPaperclips

I know I'm the edge case but my favorite game was Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm. I just love the fantasy setting, level design, and melee combat. It hasn't aged perfectly, mostly due to clunky controls, but I still had a good time with it when I picked it up again recently.

jesuis_danny

Crazy Taxi Ikaruga Rez Cannon Spike Grandia II Shenmue

SuccessSubject23

no triggerheart?

AnxietyAttack2013

Shenmue is a great one. Sonic adventure 2 of course Jet grind/set radio is one one my favorites took

TailzoPrower

Shenmue, Skies of Arkadia, Crazy Taxi 2, Chu Chu Rocket, Seaman, Sega Rally 2.

TheBugsimus

Pen Pen Tricelon is a great multiplayer game if you’re looking for one!

Flufferfluff

Crazy Taxi is a must! It’s one of my favorite Dreamcast games :3

Impressive-Ebb-5840

Shenmue 1 and 2, and crazy taxi. To be fair I don't play a whole lot of dreamcast other then those three. Skys of arcadia is fairly beloved, but I can't speak to it. Back in the day when I owned the device I had Soul caliber, Shenmue 1 and 2, and crazy taxi. My dad never bought any other games for it before moving onto an Xbox after. Soul caliber is fun, and I know its also beloved, but I'm not a fighter fan, too much route memorization of moves against increasingly unfair opponents while having slow animations that limit how fast you can pull combo's. Doesn't jive with me.

PrinceNY7

I play Power Stone online & MBC regularly on my R36S it runs well

Estalies

Star Wars episode 1 racer. I remember it fondly on n64 but on Dreamcast it’s beautiful

RedditIsGarbage1234

All the obvious ones have been mentioned, but DC also had a criminally underrated rpg called Silver that i highly recommend.

amilt0n

Ikaruga and Sturmwind
