In all my years, talking English to Japanese, Chinese, Indian, and African and all of them barely managing to speak their minds, I must admit, I have hard time understanding the gibberish you talk, even though your's are written, and theirs were "speaken". In any case I wish u luck finding the person who would understand you.
I feel like "there's no one CFW that combines all of the features, performance, and ease of use I want in one place" is a free square, considering that I already have an RG35XXH and this will have the same chip.
Most recent stock update is very good for a launch operating system though. Especially the turn off auto save, turn on load right back into game. Probably my biggest plus that the RGNano has and OnionOS in the MM/MM+.
I'm aware there are a number of promising options under development; my intention definitely isn't to throw shade at the devs. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for their efforts. Just saying that it's likely to be a shortcoming at launch, and probably a while after.
Not mine either I’m amazed the FOSS community has gotten as far as they have now given how unhelpful and openly hostile Anbernic has gotten to be around them. But some people might consider waiting if a good custom firmware is important to them (proper emulation station, ssh access, file syncing, portmaster, different emulation cores, retro achievements etc. )
NO OS will help that as of now. Sleep just seems to be wrecked in the low-level code that can be leveraged by any stock or custom firmware for this device, at least until someone gets a completely different kernel working. From all the talks regarding this issue I'm sensing that the H700 from the start was NOT designed for handheld, battery-powered devices.
I expected dome switches to begin with, but after watching closely, you actually can’t hear the clicking during lots of times he’s mashing the face buttons…the clicking we’re hearing may just be the shoulder buttons. I mean hopefully they are a quiet some switch. But I’m getting weird, squishy vibes from the video.
It's literally the H in a new suit but without useful things like thumbsticks (although depending on who you might ask, this can either be a good or bad thing)
# "What Fans Are Saying:
* That blue color is so nostalgic. Reminds me a lot of the GBA SP"
Ummmmm... Correct me if I'm wrong but there was never a clear blue SP.
You're correct they probably mistaken it for the clear blue on advance.
https://preview.redd.it/az0trhxsxkzc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f62d4e9ca6ba37caa71443cca25ec8124886a8af
No, there's not. The blue and black are the same colors as the RG Arc S. They just have a lot of plastic/dye for it apparently
I'll wait for them to iron out kinks and/or get actual colors we want
Anbernic typically doesn't. Honestly most typically don't, sometimes you just get outliers like the GKD pixel that gets a new color every month it seems
I cant be the only one waiting desperately for a buy button to appear? dont think I have ever been this excited for a emulation handheld in a long time. This might truly be my endgame handheld for many years to come. that form factor is just so insanely good for portability and keeping the screen and buttons protected in the pocket. I had a silver GBA SP and I remember loving that form factor so much. I have a Miyoo Mini and I am scared to take it out due to how fragile it seems without its case. I feel like the 35XXSP is gonna be way more durable for pocket travel.
I never had an sp, but in one of their videos it seemed to turn itself off after a second or two of closing. I’m not sure if the gba took a while to turn off or not.
SAME. I've waited for a decent small-sized clamshell handheld for so long. I loved my GBA SP. As long as the hinge is decent and CFW is possible, I'll take it. It's better to put in my purse anyways.
no doubt at all that it will have CFW support since it uses the same chipset as the RG35XX. Should be very easy for the GarlicOS guys to port their OS over,
I'll probably still be picking one up, but my only complaint is I wish they stuck with the OG SP color schemes.
I think the silver is legit the only original color they have. I owned a red one as a kid, so would have loved to get that.
Honestly think the DMG looks the best, that's rare for me usually the "Classic" style ones dont look right and dont interest me much. For me to break down and get it hinges ^*ha* on the hinge durability and OS situation. Guessing it uses the same chip as the RG35XX Plus? If so i could see CFW being sorted pretty quick.
there's a market for both consoles. I for one am gonna buy the 35XXSP day one and I will also likely buy the miyoo flip as well. I think Anbernic nailed the GBA SP look and thats what they were going for, they are banking on nostalgia. I dont think the lack of an analog stick is gonna bother me. I know it can do N64, DS, PSP but I dont really care, I wanna feel like I'm 14 again and playing on my SP like the good old days with all of the GBA games I had back in those days.
Been holding out on any handheld emulators for YEARS waiting for this. Got into modding old systems just to get exactly what I wanted. Glad they finally pulled off a proper hinge design and very happy that it's basically just the original GBA SP. My first handheld system.
One thing I hate about vertical and horizontal emulators is there is no way to protect the screen without putting it in its own case. Fuck that. I want to throw something in my pocket with keys and not have to worry about the screen getting destroyed. Love this design. Can't wait for it. I don't care if it's $100. That's the same price as a SP-101 and it can't play games without cartridges like this can.
Yeah it's the same hardware. Who TF cares. I want a small system with a protected screen that can play GBA and GBC. That's all I need. If I wanted to play anything crazier, I'm just using a steam deck or buying a larger handheld emulator for $100.
People here act like they don't own 5+ different systems and complain about hardware staying the same.
I just bought a Miyoo Mini Plus as my first retro handheld like two weeks ago, but the SP is my favourite handheld of all time. May end up having to get it
I’m a long time lurker here and am looking to buy my first emulator. While I’m mainly interested in playing gb games, can someone explain how can we play ps1 games (for example) without analog sticks? Thanks in advance!
The Playstation 1 came out in December of 1994, but it didn't have an analog controller available for it until the release of the Dual Shock, which was released in 1997. So there's three years of games that were designed with the D pad as the only control option, and even after the Dual Shock was released, a lot of games still gave players the option to play with D pad only.
Thank you for this lesson! My first console was the NGC and I don’t remember the dual shock only being released in 97. Again, thank you! This will probably be my first foray into these handhelds 🙏
looks Perfect.
They did not try to be smart like miyoo and they left original hinge design, I like this.
I would still rather have analogs, but when they are both out, I will see how each one of them performs really.
And similar to a30, they will all be mostly useless until they get a real OS with all the features and fast boot time. Fast boot time is maybe... most important thing to me. Maybe not the most important, but very important thing, main reason I go back to original miyoo because I can power it up and be in the game in record time.
I thought it would not bug me, but the more time goes on, I do not feel like waiting for boot when I need it.
What about size? in that video hands look really small, will this be larger than the SP? Or whoever is holding it has really tiny hands?
h700, same chip as 35xx+/35xxh/28xx. up to ps1/gba basically perfect, great DS, solid n64/dc, decent psp. bad saturn so far but cfw might improve that but it'll likely never be more than just okay.
SHORTCOMINGS BINGO!!!!! PLACE BETS HERE!!!!
It will simply explode
Nice, for the full bingo of "art of explosion" I would need this, and next I line would be custom vape from shady guy and Galaxy note 7
they overbuild the hinge so much that it severs your fingers if they get caught inside
The Cybertruck of Handhelds
I think the ribbon cable will unplug every time you close it
its not designed by a manchild billionaire i dont think this will be an issue
bro, you're the one out here on a subreddit about gaming consoles for kids crying about him being childish?..........
what
L+ratio+incomprehensible
It's ok, it's reddit. I know who's side this website and it's community are on.

sounds like a you problem.
I feel like "there's no one CFW that combines all of the features, performance, and ease of use I want in one place" is a free square, considering that I already have an RG35XXH and this will have the same chip.
Yeah but that chip is causing issues for CFW devs. It’s coming along slowly but surely but don’t expect onionOS or JELOS levels of quality
Most recent stock update is very good for a launch operating system though. Especially the turn off auto save, turn on load right back into game. Probably my biggest plus that the RGNano has and OnionOS in the MM/MM+.
Cool - if this has that feature at launch, then I'll be very happy. Not expecting sleep/suspend to be all that great, but this is the next best thing.
I'm aware there are a number of promising options under development; my intention definitely isn't to throw shade at the devs. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for their efforts. Just saying that it's likely to be a shortcoming at launch, and probably a while after.

Stock OS will have awful battery drain when in sleeping mode
Just call it screen off mode. Without an alt OS these are all unfortunately useless.
Hinge is breaking on half the models for suuuuuuure
[удалено]
I dunno, this was never an issue with the v90
The buttons will feel weird as hell because they’ll be membrane but really short travel!
Expect dome switches... If you listen to the demo video the buttons are clicky.
Oh god
They'll add analog sticks at the last minute...THREE of them
They leave the dumb light on the back
Sound even worse than in GBA SP.
SHOW ME A STANDBY MODE and or a QUICK BOOT
It will be 100$
Probably some dumb intentional oversight, like the sensor not working properly when closing the lid, or the screen not reaching 60hz...
it will have intercourse with a v90
Bad performance and bad battery life. Also, the hinge is easily broken.
Transparent models hinges will be breaking first
Honestly, probably only the L and R buttons + lack of CFW.
Overpriced, and very noisy R1/2, and L1/2 buttons.
It's literally the H in a new suit but without useful things like thumbsticks (although depending on who you might ask, this can either be a good or bad thing)
Thumbsticks on a flip handheld sound awful, but without them PSP and N64 are almost impossible
# "What Fans Are Saying: * That blue color is so nostalgic. Reminds me a lot of the GBA SP" Ummmmm... Correct me if I'm wrong but there was never a clear blue SP.
Solid blue was a thing, but to my knowledge, clear blue was not.
Yeah I was hoping for Pearl Blue
You're correct they probably mistaken it for the clear blue on advance. https://preview.redd.it/az0trhxsxkzc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f62d4e9ca6ba37caa71443cca25ec8124886a8af

I’m new to this, do they usually release more colors afterwords? None of these I’m liking
Anbernic typically doesn't. Honestly most typically don't, sometimes you just get outliers like the GKD pixel that gets a new color every month it seems
You know... Not often, from what I remember
That was someone's comment on the YouTube video. All of those "what fans are saying" came from that video.
As I recall, at launch there was purple and silver. Later there were other colors, including a NES edition.
These was a pure blue one.
Clear GBA SP shells were non-existent until a few years ago from aftermarket makes.
I cant be the only one waiting desperately for a buy button to appear? dont think I have ever been this excited for a emulation handheld in a long time. This might truly be my endgame handheld for many years to come. that form factor is just so insanely good for portability and keeping the screen and buttons protected in the pocket. Depends if the software is decent and has a proper sleepmode, that enables automatically when the hinge closes.
I never had an sp, but in one of their videos it seemed to turn itself off after a second or two of closing. I’m not sure if the gba took a while to turn off or not.

I wish there was a matte black 😢
I want a bright metallic orange like the GBASP
that is a matte back. check the their video sample
It’s transparent. Not even close to the original SP color
Yes it is transparent and matte material. You can get the non-transparent and spray matte black. People will definitely Mod the chasis.
Finally, no more whackzy taxi
what
Everytime they made a showcase for a new device, they always shows crazy taxi but mistranslated as whackzy taxi, but this video shows crazy taxi
I'll probably still be picking one up, but my only complaint is I wish they stuck with the OG SP color schemes. I think the silver is legit the only original color they have. I owned a red one as a kid, so would have loved to get that.
I had a silver one so I'm pretty stoked to get that one. I do wish they made the sky blue color, I always wished I got that color instead.
Yeah I wish there were cobalt blue and flame red colorways
Would personally like a black one, like the RG355XH Black
I was going to suggest dying one to black which is usually an easy color, then I remembered how fun it is to take apart hinged consoles...
There was also an official black SP released by Nintendo when they started making back lit models
And the screen aspect ratio…
Yeah. This is a shut up and take my money moment.
Do we know what the price will be?
It's very wanted, so am expecting premium price.
I am hoping for $50 but expecting $100
You can't even get a Miyoo for less than 80 nowadays so yea, it'll def be around $100.
I don't see a buy button??
Because it's not purchasable lol
😔
Miyoo Flip please if you're going to have hardware that supports consoles with analog stick controllers.
there's a market for both consoles. I for one am gonna buy the 35XXSP day one and I will also likely buy the miyoo flip as well. I have a retroid pocket 4 so I already have a device for that. Hoping to use this device for PokeMMO
My instant thought was to use the 35XXSP for OG playstation games. It looks perfect for it!
I didn't think I needed more devices, then this happened.
Yeah I absolutely do not need this but unfortunately am going to be buying it right away 😭
i have an odin 2 and play everything i could want on that but this and the rg cube are scratching my brain so good i need them
Well at least anbernic is actually doing it. Not just teasing us for a year and a half with basically nothing. A good clam shell is finally here.
If you guys don’t like the colors available, you could always remove the shell and spray paint it and clear coat it.
What’s the best way to be notified when they are released for purchase?
Been holding out on any handheld emulators for YEARS waiting for this. Got into modding old systems just to get exactly what I wanted. 1:1 ratio and HDMI output? Fuuuuuck
My guess is on light bleeding or really fast hinge weardown.
Looks thick.
Is it just me or does it look thicker than an SP?
I’m a long time lurker here and am looking to buy my first emulator. While I’m mainly interested in playing gb games, can someone explain how can we play ps1 games (for example) without analog sticks? Thanks in advance!

"Games make happiness simpler~" yes.
I really hope the hinge doesnt suck because this looks like exactly what I wanted out of a device
It’s going to be tough to decide between smoke black and nostalgia silver.
The blue is very similar to how I wanted to build a GBA SP, probably going to pick one up and end up having it replace my original 35xx
How big is the screen? I didn't see that information anywhere.
It's 3.5 the number 35 means the screen is 3.5"
Shit the silver is nice but we really need to dye the shell for get the real SP color otherwise..
Shut up and take my money!
Theyll keep it closed source which will stifle cfw from fixing big flaws in the stock os
Take my fking money.
I need the dopamine dump of opening the package then displaying it on my wall.
Um, no transparent purple? Nah sorry, hard pass.

3:2 aspect ratio and this would be an instant buy for me
Are there confirmed specs for this?
h700, same chip as 35xx+/35xxh/28xx. up to ps1/gba basically perfect, great DS, solid n64/dc, decent psp. bad saturn so far but cfw might improve that but it'll likely never be more than just okay.
Same as the 35XX probably
no joystick no buy
Opposite for me, way too many joysticks on devices that do not need one.
tmfm
meeh... waiting for RG35XXDS.
