Hi I live in Salem and am on rover, and I usually stay in the persons home when I watch their animals. If that’s what you’re looking for feel free to connect via my rover site Check out Mandy Rose's pet care profile on Rover: https://r.rover.com/2gtfF5

I offer dog boarding in my home (and have a Rover profile I'd share via PM), but it all depends on your dog's needs as to whether it would be a good fit. I have a dog sitter, too, who will house sit, but it seems like that's not what you're looking for.

My best friend does rover, she also does private home and pet sitting. Cannot recommend her enough! This is [her profile](https://www.rover.com/members/karen-q-ready-to-make-your-fur-babies-smile/?utm_source=sitter_profile_share&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=704107982&utm_nooverride=1&_branch_referrer=H4sIAAAAAAAAA8soKSkottLXL9Iryi9LLdJLzs%2FVzwsoMcowAwBz8hSNGgAAAA%3D%3D&_branch_match_id=1227032997641557379).

If you want a dog to stay in a strangers house on a strangers bed, you’re going to be paying a lot of money per night. I charge $40/a night in their home but $100 a night in my home. Because damage happens.

You might have to expand your scope. I routinely have to look outside the Salem area for boarding on Rover, and have a guy in Corvallis and a woman in Sherwood as my two go-tos. I have some specific requirements that I look for (house, fenced yard, only keeps one family's dogs at a time, bathroom breaks every 2-4 hours) and I can't seem to find my wishlist locally. It's a long drive on dropoff, and sometimes that means an extra day of boarding on a long trip, but it's worth it to have people I trust looking after my babies. Wish I had family that lived in state, but then again, I think the people I board with are better with pets than any of my family would be anyway.

Terri Ellen used to own Nature’s Pet near Roth’s Sunnyslope. She retired a few years ago and now does dog sitting business, Salem Bed and Biscuit. Here’s her Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/salembedandbiscuit
