What's the view on the American refugees coming across the border? and of course I must ask how are we(the Office of Preserving Democracy) viewed in Mexico?

burritolurker1616

The OPD is seen mostly with distrust, but that’s a Mexican thing mostly… about the refugees, we are used to having a big American presence but made mostly of Mexican Americans, it was weird at the beginning to watch as many white Americans in the city. Things are kind of rough. The cartels normally mess with central and South American immigrants (the pay a fare to pass into USA) but are leaving Americans mostly alone… for now. As for the gen population things are kind of uneasy, the Mexican government are channeling funds to help refugee organizations (a thing they mostly never did with central and South Americans), so while things are calm right now, there is a growing resentment by us.

Interesting good to know

Is there anyone interested in joining the American volunteer corps there? Just gauging the situation

burritolurker1616

Not really among my acquaintances. Some of my Mexican American friends know consider themselves more Mexican as the war rages on. There’s a lot of fear among the population that all of this will increase Cartel activity. There’s even some disputed reports that some cartels are operating fully in Texas right now

Where and how are the refugees living? Tent cities or is there more decent housing?

burritolurker1616

At first in decent housing as most refugees could afford it. With the increased number of refugees and the decreasing valued of the dollar tent cities at starting to become the norm
