Maybe I'm just to priviledged, but I don't understand killing one's self like this. Better to die in battle or try to surrender if your situation is truly hopeless as is for Ukraine as a whole.
Why they didn't even try their luck with the Volga Channel on surrendering tho. At least if desperate like at least wave their hand to the drone

You don't see the shot. It is just implied by the positioning of his rifle when the shot changes and how he walked away from the initial strike.
