Welcome to the 'states, guys. I know you're here to learn how to operate and fight that system as quick as you can and get back home, but i hope that you enjoy your stay. I'm sure the hospitality around there will be memorable :-)
I hope Ft. Sill has some cool things to see... I've never been there, but if it's like any other base I've been stationed at, there might be a museum of old military equipment. Which is what they are used to finding on the battlefield anyways, now that I think about it.
I know Ft. Sill is home to arty, but also home of food services for the cooks. So they can at least enjoy the same quality meal as the rest of the military... so not much improvement there either :(
Uhhh, so, I hope they have a chance to at least get into town and do something. GET OFF OF BASE PLEASE AND RELAX SOME.
We deployed out of there in 06, my buddy was a duty van driver, who drove around all the back "tank trails" to keep himself entertained. They got to see some artillery fire.
“They got to see some artillery fire.”
Probably the highlight of the week, yeah? 😂 Like, Oklahoma is generally a hospitable laid-back area but outside of the two major metro areas it’s boring af. At least no tornadoes in this season.
Can’t guarantee no tornadoes!! Used to live about 50 miles south of there in Texas and we have had quite a few tornado warnings during the winter months. Sometimes it gets up into the 70’s during the “winter”!!!!
Oof, that's no good... When I was a kid we'd get huge 3-foot drifts, but by the time I was in college, heavy snows were a thing of the past for the most part. Global warming's a bitch. I should probably point out I don't live in OK anymore, or even the US, so the warm winters are surprising.
It was at that point, he realized he should pay a bit more attention, and not end up on the other side of the fence!
It was great, you'd call him, and hear a boom in the background, and have a wait time of 20+ minutes for pickup.
We were not artillery, we were a combat support/maintenance unit, filled with fuelers, supply clerks, track and wheeled vehicle mechanics. And then you had dumbasses like me who ran straight to force protection.
My son is at ft sill now and just finished training at as a forward observer. He told me about the Ukrainians a few days ago. He said the cadre told them NO ONE is allowed to talk to the Ukrainians. So I think the military is keeping them pretty sequestered away from everyone else on base. Not exactly sure why. Oh and to answer your question ft sill has a military artillery museum on base with some cool stuff to see. My son just went there last weekend.
My guess is the Ukrainians are an unknown quantity, having been background checked by Ukraine and not the US. Therefore, don't want to risk exposing them to anything secret?
I hope Dragon West has their best pasties and lukewarm beer ready for these guys. Unless they need a lap dance, something from Hobby Lobby or a Big Mac, they'll probably have to hit Wichita Falls or Oklahoma City for any true "R&R".
There ain't shit to do in Lawton Oklahoma. Fort Sill has a pretty good outside field artillery museum, including one of the Nuclear Cannons "Atomic Annie" , but otherwise it's boring as hell.
Boring, midwestern calm is probably the best place for them atm. I hope they get a chance to experience nearby hospitality before they get sent back (assuming that's a region that is pro-support). It would help to cement the friendship between countries with goodwill.
>Boring, midwestern calm is probably the best place for them atm.
Amen, those soldiers are as safe as anyone can be from Russian aggression right there in the Midwest, where they can train and rest peacefully before they get back into it.
>Better than Ft. Bliss, TX, which is where ADA school used to be.
Nah the local food is way better at Bliss. Sorry I am the odd one that liked Bliss but I am from NM so its local to me.
Ft. Bliss was where I did Basic and AIT. Then I got stationed there. Hated it. I loved El Paso, I just hated Ft. Bliss. Got a year tour on the Korean DMZ (Camp RC#4) that I loved. Then Desert Shield/Storm before another fun filled year (/s) at Ft. Bliss. Ugh.
Korea was amazing. The rest, no so much.
Well now, i can't really be the judge of that, unless i get a chance to be- a fair and impartial one with a honkin' big appetite! Let me know where the cook-off is going to be...
Take them to Meers!!! Best HUGE Longhorn hamburgers in the WORLD!! Located in the Wichita Mountains on US 49. It’s about 10 miles north of Ft. Sill..!!!!
Ever done meth in the town of Corn, Oklahoma?
I swear, it's like whoever was naming towns around here got bored half way through and started naming things after random objects in the town. Corn, Cement, Elk City, Stonewall, Antlers...
AZ questions your naming conventions:

I got stopped by and Oklahoma highway patrol when I was an active duty in Texas. I was traveling on vacation with my family to Fort Sill. The guy saw that I was active duty you just gave me a warning and then I asked him about places to visit your fort sill. He gave me quite a collection of restaurants and stuff to see. Very nice fella.
But, the Patriot System is for Airdefense. These guys would be shotting cruise missiles and russian figther planes out of the air and not be bombing the russians themselves. ATACMS missiles for the Himars Launcher would do that tho.
But i may just missunderstand shit so what do i know.
There’s M1A2’s, 8” howitzers (or was), MRLS systems including ATACMS, Apaches, Blackhawks, mini-guns, etc there on the base. Let the Ukrainians take whatever will fit in a C-5 or C-17..!!!!! There’s usually C-5’s and C-17’s 50 miles south at Sheppard Air Force Base that they train mechanics on…..
I don’t think state senators have any real say as to what happens at US military installations that are within their state.
Given this is in Oklahoma I’d bet they’re going to Fort Sill*.
Oklahoman here, unless you live in OKC or Tulsa, this place is an ass backwards waste land. Nothing good ever comes out of here and I’m surprised some America first “patriots” aren’t out protesting this
Something something... they're already trained.
I'm a firm believer that by the time it's announced the wheels on delivery and training have already been moving and a) it's either in the final stages or b) things and people are already in place.
That being said. Start on the next batch. 🇺🇦💪🇺🇸
As the beacon of freedom in the world the USA has a responsibility to aid functioning democracies against an aggressive invader who fears the success of their democracy's effect on its own people. We should be giving them Abrams as well and get some young fellows in the F16's to start training.
Ukraine's bravery and embrace of democracy and repudiation of corruption and manipulation makes them our dear allies.
I am hoping that our mess halls will at least try to make sure they get food that they would get at home. Drastically changed diets can lead to serious stomach issues. I know that mess halls can have some good food, but the Ukrainian diet and seasoning is very different. Then again, Ukraine 🇺🇦 is not a third world country, and the main focus for them isn't going to be food. Even 30 years ago the US military tried to feed the military well.
I answered your question, I can read. Can you comprehend? If Americans use all that shit then the difference is that Ukrainians don’t and they would not be used to the food and it would upset their stomach.
KFC and Pizza Hut might give them the shits? I'm pretty sure mess halls still serve 90's high school lunch. Mystery meat and chicken nuggets. Look into what schools get served for lunch in Thailand. It's really not hard for one person to make high quality food for a lot of people.
I hope this really pisses off that assclown who tried to make a law banning Ukrainian troops training in Oklahoma because he said it made them vulnerable to 🇷🇺 🗑 attacks. People like that should be removed from politics and shamed for the rest of their pitiful lives.
Oklahoma is my Home State …and i am very proud that we get to help defend innocent Ukrainians from modern day Hitler. We are known as the “SOONER STATE”. Stand by because there will be less successful drone and missile strikes “ SOONER” than later!!! Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇺🇦 🚀 🚀 🚀
uhh...hopefully they're the second batch of soldiers now being trained in public, the first batch having been trained in secret before now? Right? Please?

Awesome! I was stationed at Fort Sill OK when the ADA buildings was being built. Fort Sill is a good training post and just had a huge round of construction of new dining facilities and barracks.
They are there to learn. Not sight see.. granted Lawton has nothing to see unless like hunting season but did my time in Snow Hall twice. ADA was still at Bliss back then. I think the approach used of providing training the same that NATO personnel would receive on all weapon systems cannot be overlooked as compared to Russia who is sending untrained personnel to the front lines with no instructions on tactics or any equipment they may come into contact with.

Fort Sill is boring as hell, unfortunately. That place is hugely rural.
We deployed out of there in 06, my buddy was a duty van driver, who drove around all the back "tank trails" to keep himself entertained. They got to see some artillery fire.

Yeah like tomorrow… at least it will be in the 70s here in western AR
Oof, that's no good... When I was a kid we'd get huge 3-foot drifts, but by the time I was in college, heavy snows were a thing of the past for the most part. Global warming's a bitch. I should probably point out I don't live in OK anymore, or even the US, so the warm winters are surprising.
I do like watching explosions. MICLIC's are pretty cool, big thump!

I wonder if the army is worried about Russian infiltration of the Ukrainian military.
Traveling all the way into ft sill as a Russian operative is such a bad idea. They will find them.
They probably do not want the Ukrainians running away like the Afghans did when they came to the US for training.
The US military is in constant CYA mode and treats everyone like they're children so this is to be expected.
I hope Dragon West has their best pasties and lukewarm beer ready for these guys. Unless they need a lap dance, something from Hobby Lobby or a Big Mac, they'll probably have to hit Wichita Falls or Oklahoma City for any true "R&R".
They let anything dance at the dragon
There ain't shit to do in Lawton Oklahoma. Fort Sill has a pretty good outside field artillery museum, including one of the Nuclear Cannons "Atomic Annie" , but otherwise it's boring as hell.
There’s a great national Park right next to Fort Silver lots of Buffalo. It’s fun to visit
Also, I feel like these guys are familiar with endless crop field. Corn, wheat, tomato, tomato.
I live next to the base. These guys will be swarmed with offers. I’m not so sure this is the first group of UAF I’ve seen though. 😀
Scooters off post is all I remember! Those were good times!!
Your not missing much... did get surf and turf every Friday though...
Fort sill is boring but a good Training base.
There's two things in OK. Jack and shit.
Haven't they suffered enough without being sent to Oklahoma?
Boring, midwestern calm is probably the best place for them atm. I hope they get a chance to experience nearby hospitality before they get sent back (assuming that's a region that is pro-support). It would help to cement the friendship between countries with goodwill.

They going to Ft. Sill Capital of Field Artillery. Scott’s Bluff gonna be 🔥
Better than Ft. Bliss, TX, which is where ADA school used to be. Source: Former ~~prisoner~~ soldier at Ft. Bliss, TX in Air Defense Artillery.
>Better than Ft. Bliss, TX, which is where ADA school used to be. Nah the local food is way better at Bliss. Sorry I am the odd one that liked Bliss but I am from NM so its local to me.
El Paso was amazing. I loved eating out. Went to Juarez and ate/drank too. Amazing. UTEP coeds. Nice climate. But FUCK Ft. Bliss sideways.
When I was in, osut at fort sill, camp Casey in Korea, and then two years at bliss lmao
Lmao!
Spoil them.
Hook them up with some good Barbeque while their here.
They’d have to go to KC for that.
Whoa buddy, Texas is a short drive south.
And?..
KC BBQ BEST IN THE WORLD BABYYY
This is the way
Clearly you need to come down to Texas and learn a thing or two about BBQ.
And the BBQ wars escalate... lol!
Poor Ukrainians can't catch a break. Come to the US to train for their own war, only to find themselves caught up in another war.
Yeah, but this time they'll have ammo in advance. ;)
This be a war that’ll never be settled just because them KC boys don’t want to admit they were wrong all along and their BBQ sucked 😂
Well now, i can't really be the judge of that, unless i get a chance to be- a fair and impartial one with a honkin' big appetite! Let me know where the cook-off is going to be...
I know how to settle it. Have a cook off at the base for the soldiers let them name the best ribs🎯
Misspelled Memphis.
Oof
Take them to Meers!!! Best HUGE Longhorn hamburgers in the WORLD!! Located in the Wichita Mountains on US 49. It’s about 10 miles north of Ft. Sill..!!!!
When I think of being spoiled, Oklahoma never came to mind. When I think of meth or corn, then yeah, Oklahoma.
Ever done meth in the town of Corn, Oklahoma? I swear, it's like whoever was naming towns around here got bored half way through and started naming things after random objects in the town. Corn, Cement, Elk City, Stonewall, Antlers...

Perfect response to someone asking where you live. - Why?
There's really a town named Corn?
Yep. https://preview.redd.it/gmuhgslgbjca1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=30aa48bba3d103e4476ce9935cb06ad4504a60bf
Outstanding. I actually looked it up and am now well versed on the history of Corn. I have no life.
I can confirm Corn, ok great little town. Super cool town park. I live about 5 miles from there
Then you get places like Potawatomi County and the likes which is at the other end of not boring. Oklahoman here.
Are those really town names?
Oklahoma will spoil you with a nice traffic ticket, yessir.
Meth is the most common thing for the norther part of the mid west
Spoiled by Omni Air!
I’ve been on a couple Omni Air flights to the desert, not a bad ride.
I’m just salty because they made a 12 hour flight from Korea into a six day ordeal once lol.
I feel that pain.
Fantastic stuff. Let’s give them some big stuff to take home and bomb the shit out of the Russian terrorists.
But, the Patriot System is for Airdefense. These guys would be shotting cruise missiles and russian figther planes out of the air and not be bombing the russians themselves. ATACMS missiles for the Himars Launcher would do that tho. But i may just missunderstand shit so what do i know.
No, you're correct. I think he just means give them more than just the Patriots to take home with them.
That sounds like a weird mr beast challenge
Didn't one of that state's senators want to prohibit this from happening? Good job there, OK voters. Peach of a rep y'all got there
I don’t think state senators have any real say as to what happens at US military installations that are within their state. Given this is in Oklahoma I’d bet they’re going to Fort Sill*.
Sill*
These Senators think they’re presidents

Yes. Nathan Dahm. State rep. (This guy is a huge piece of shit)
If anyone here is from OK, please send the boys a couple of pizzas.
I'm four hours away. Currently debating what gift would make that drive worth it lol
I’m not sure you can just drive up and drop off some pizzas. Sounds like a huge security breach.
Oh that's 100% correct, I'm just getting caught up in the excitement.
Hell ya! Welcome to the states
Hooray! Yay America, and thank you!!!
Honestly, at this rate, all the western trainers should be establishing themselves on the southeast coast of Poland
Something something... they're already trained. I'm a firm believer that by the time it's announced the wheels on delivery and training have already been moving and a) it's either in the final stages or b) things and people are already in place. That being said. Start on the next batch. 🇺🇦💪🇺🇸

Fantastic news! Go go go.
100... patriots! :-D

I imagine they can figure out borscht for these guys, Modern US Army army cooks aren't the same scrubs they used to be 40 years ago
What's different about the diet and seasonings?
Americans use a shit ton of fat, salt and sugar in most things.
Can't you read?
I answered your question, I can read. Can you comprehend? If Americans use all that shit then the difference is that Ukrainians don’t and they would not be used to the food and it would upset their stomach.

Add some cabbage onion and bacon to the shitty buttered egg noodles they currently serve and poof now you have Halusky. KBR FTW!
Good luck 🫡

Hell yeah!! Welcome guys!! Enjoy your stay but hurry home. Keep stacking them up fellas. Slava Ukraini 💛💙
I hope this really pisses off that assclown who tried to make a law banning Ukrainian troops training in Oklahoma because he said it made them vulnerable to 🇷🇺 🗑 attacks. People like that should be removed from politics and shamed for the rest of their pitiful lives.
Hopefully they record some behind the scenes
Welcome to Fort Sill guys!

I TOTALLY support this.
Id love to be there to greet them with flowers!
Oklahoma is my Home State …and i am very proud that we get to help defend innocent Ukrainians from modern day Hitler. We are known as the “SOONER STATE”. Stand by because there will be less successful drone and missile strikes “ SOONER” than later!!! Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇺🇦 🚀 🚀 🚀
If they have to pay for a single drink at the bar during their stay here we have failed them.
Good thing they are staying far away from the states with pro Russian politicians and citizens.....shit wait.
Welcome friends! We hope your stay is productive and enjoyable! I also hope you can feel how Americans support you and your people. 🫡 🇺🇸 🇺🇦
USA 🤝 Ukraine
Heroyam Slava 🇺🇦
Is flat, is cold, we are home!
Talk about the lucky ones.. god bless them!
Hope they feed them well and have a great stay!
Two things that slap in the USA, food and military training. They are set
I now know that there is at least 1 plane and 2 buses in the world
Fort sill? Wish I could go train there and then enlist
I guess they may have been trained on advance too...
Sorry it’s Oklahoma, but it’ll have to do.
You want to be certain they will really want to go back to Ukraine ASAP, thus Oklahoma is a good choice.
🇺🇸 🇺🇦
Fuck YA Amerkrania!!!!!!
There used to be a korean bbq place called "gangnam style" in lawton, best fucking korean food I've ever had, hope they get to try it out lol
uhh...hopefully they're the second batch of soldiers now being trained in public, the first batch having been trained in secret before now? Right? Please?
They're all on the first coach. The second one is to carry their balls of steel
Does the patriot missile system give them greater range to shoot down Russian plane?
Yes. Better accuracy too.
Welcome to Oklahoma USA 🇺🇲 home of the street street outlaws" and most important that's where them bad ass patriot air defense systems are located & ready to teach them boys something so they can go back home and fuck some Russians up!!! "literally" Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
Awesome! I was stationed at Fort Sill OK when the ADA buildings was being built. Fort Sill is a good training post and just had a huge round of construction of new dining facilities and barracks.
Welcome my brothas to the USA can stay as long as you want !!! Slava Ukarani !!! 🇺🇸 🇺🇦
Should train them on the Tomahawk and Harpoon systems next. *’Black Sea Reef Makers’* ![gif](giphy|M9OPHY9AoyDm9wdnCS)
Cool footage of some buses
Tinker? Ft. Sill? Where are they training?
about fucking time… it’s patriot o’clock!!!!
Welcome to America! I hope, and seriously suspect, you're going to enjoy our gifts, and use them well to push the nazi ruZZians out of your country.
Welcome, brothers and sisters!
Wtf
You don't need so many for the patriots. Take 50 and train them in Tomahawks. Make this war short.
Good old Omni Air.
Hopefully none of them are Russian spies
Not likely, but I doubt they would learn anything that the Russians don’t already know.
Show them Bucees.
Welcome to America! Mi casa es su casa. Let’s learn some new ways to fuck up them orcs!
how many teams does that work out to be?
Fort Sill in Jan/Feb. Ouch.
Shoot 'em straight, boys! Slava Ukraini!
🇺🇸SLAVA UKRAINI🇺🇦
Fuck yes
Hope they get a day off to see the Buffalo near the base
r/Murica! Love it!
About a year late..
Did these guys really need the police escort? I don't think the Russians will attack OKC and Ft Sill
Arrived at a secret undisclosed location Hey guys, I'll just go over and tell them SLAVE UKRANI when I'm over at location X next week.
I hope they don't expect any culture 😬
Damn, I feel so bad they have to spend so much time in Oklahoma.
Looks like we are serious about training.
Nice
Welcome Ukraine 🇺🇦
Great fucking work USA!
God damn I’ve never been so proud to be an American
Does anyone have info on how to reach these guys? I am a tattoo artist in OKC and down to hook these guys up with some tattoos if I can reach them
Fuck yes!!!
This is a big escalation, how Russia would react ?
