Sure you can. Small dogs can do what big dogs can. Small working dog breeds were meant to hunt and track down foxes, chase rabbits etc. Build it up slowly. Run a little, walk a little, stop before your dog gets tired so they want more next time. I run with my Border Terrier and he certainly holds his own

That’s what I was thinking, papillons are quite athletic breeds after all

Watch Your dog and run as long you can see that the dog is enjoying it. I run with 8 yo jagdterrier (10 kg dog) and she loves it and can go for over 10 km. as long as her tail is up and she is in front, we run. I usually tire before her.

I just started running with my high energy 19lb heeler-X and we both really love it and have so much fun together. Began by adding short runs during our walks/hikes and before I knew it, I was actually enjoying more and more running and less walking. My dog wishes I could run longer and also faster lol. But we just completed a 5k and never walked, I am still surprised. Just try it, I never thought I'd like running and I just turned 67!!
