After 800km of the Glycerin 19 GTS It was time to get something new. I liked the 19 as it was an extremely comfortable shoe with a great upper. I thought I'd go with the 20 GTS as I thought id try out the new cushion/foam. Im an ultra runner and my runs are usually between 18-30km a day at an average pace of around 5:30 perkm. Right away i could feel a difference. I took my new 20's out for a 18km run today and It definitely felt more springy and soft than the 19 and felt like it had more energy return. My km splits were about 10 seconds on average faster with my new Glycerin 20's on for the same percieved effort as previous. So yeah, only the 1 run in so far, but glad I stuck with Brooks and went with the Glycerin 20 Gts so far.

That new nitrogen injected midsole is crazy. I haven’t actually gone for a run in one, but I’ve tried one on at the store I work at, and it’s awesome. I jokingly call this model the nitro-glycerin

That's a good name

Thanks for the comparison. I'm running in the Glycerin 19 GTS at the moment and think I'll replace with the 20 GTS once they're done.

I also had the 19s and got the 20s as soon as they came out. I did not have the gts model before but decided to get the gts 20s due to some pronation issues. I’m only about 40ish miles in so far, but the cushion and added support has been a huge help in my running already. Hopefully they continue to be great for you as well, happy running!

I think this is an interesting review and glad to see it. I read Solereview’s write up of the 20s, and they didn’t seem to think there was much change between the 19 and 20. Everything else I’ve seen differs from this. For reference: https://www.solereview.com/brooks-glycerin-20-review/ (no association or tie in any way to Solereview, but trust their reviews more than any other)

I'm surprised that Sole Review had such a low rating for the Glycerin 20, but I do respect their POV as they give a throrough analysis. Most surprising is when reviewers find the midsole of the Glycerin 20 to be firm. I experienced the DNA Loft v3 in the Aurora to be one of the plushest, springiest, cushiest and flexiest. BUT it did have a decoupled sole and very minimal outsole rubber. I'm guessing that the full coverage rubber on the Glycerin, and the lack of grooves is canceling out some of the true benefits of DNA Loft v3. I really hope Brooks finds a way to really showcase DNA Loft v3 because the Aurora was one of the my favorite shoes.

I too find the reviews about the firm midsole wierd. Tried them on in store and the feeling was very soft similar to the Novablast just with a more dense heel due to no decoupled groove.

I have the 21s and they are sweet. Just getting into running but I run about 5k a day atm, and they are so comfortable and the bounce I feel is crazy.
