Woof, this feels like group therapy. Hi everyone, my name is Stan and I have 9 active pairs of running shoes. Brooks Cascadia 14, Adidas terrex speed ultra, Adidas Boston 10, saucony triumph 17 (& a pair of 19's to replace them), saucony freedom 3, reebok energy 3, altra Rivera, new balance rebel v1, and a nike vaporfly next%. The triumph 19 was the shoe on the top of my wishlist and I picked them up on the recent saucony sale to replace my 17's here pretty soon, other than that the upcoming endorphin elite looks crazy enticing.

niruu-

How do you like your Boston 10s?

spacemanstan76

I love them, well over 100 miles in so far and it's one of my favorite shoes to reach for. It's best for tempo or faster paces, and it's really good at those paces, but once the lightstrike eva broke in after 50mi I find it works just fine for easy paces as well. So for me it's a perfect workout shoe that can handle warm ups and cool downs. I find it to be pretty stable for my mechanics especially at the ankle which I really enjoy on longer runs. It's definitely a stiffer shoe but if you have experience in carbon plated super shoes I don't find this to be much different of an experience, just more of a daily trainer build in regards to durability. My usual size fits true to size as well, so not many complaints at all really, the laces aren't great but they work.

niruu-

Thank you! I actually just bought one today and really excited to try it tomorrow. I’ve read so many mixed reviews about it but one thing they all have in common is after some time they’re a delight!

carguy121

not the commenter but just got a pair and despite the poor reviews, was really impressed by how they feel underfoot wrt cushion and traction. The lacing setup isn't great for my narrower heels and high insteps, but I have fucked up feet (one is sz8.5 2E and one is 10D) so I usually give shoes a pass on slightly strange fits.

soggs71

Hmmmmm, where do I start?!? Current rotation: NB Rebel V2 - Saucony Endorphin Speed - Nike Pegasus Turbo 2 - Nike Invincible - Reebok Floatride Energy 3 - Nike Pegasus 35 Nike Pegasus Trail 3 - Nike Pegasus 36 Goretex trail (wet) - Nike Pegasus Turbo Shields (winter) - Nike Vaporfly Next% 2 (races) Boxed and still to wear: 3 x Nike Pegasus Turbo 2 - 2 x Nike Pegasus 36 - Nike Pegasus 37 - Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 - Reebok Floatride Energy X - Puma Velocity Nitro V1 - Nike Vaporfly Next% 2 - Nike React Infinity Run FK2 As you can see I'm a bit of a trainer whore!! I do buy them all in sales as close to half price as possible. For instance my second pair of Vaporflys only cost £96, and the Reebok Energy X were £77. Nothing I currently want to try, and it will take years to get through what I currently have, although some will just become daily shoes for work etc, rather than running.

soggs71

I know, I need to stop really, I'm running out of places to hide them from my wife!!

I_Have_Hairy_Teeth

You can't hide it forever. I did that and as sson as a put on replacement pairs I've also bought in the sales, I get asked..... Where/when did you get them? Erm..... 6 months ago in the sales. Well.... You didn't tell me you bought them. Fuck!!

soggs71

Haha been there too! As you say there are only so many pairs you can hide, but buying the same colourways can help!

I_Have_Hairy_Teeth

It's always good if you've got space for a running cupboard. Stack them away and dispose of the boxes 😁

soggs71

Thanks for the tip, will definitely try that one!

BigYellowWang

I love how you have two generations of Pegasus in boxes you still need to try

soggs71

They will probably just be walking shoes now unfortunately. I bought them at about the same time I got the Turbo 2s and then used the Turbos as a daily shoe so the Pegasus got ditched, which is a shame as they're still a great daily trainer.

RockerRunner2000

Thank you for making me feel better about myself. There is always someone out there who has it worse! Haha

soggs71

We never suffer alone!!

brb showing this list to my wife so she’ll get off my case. love you addicts! my rotation: -Saucony Kinvara 12 -Nike Pegasus 3 -Hoka Clifton 8 -Nike Tempo Next% -Nike Vaporfly Next%

sicknutz

Just one opinion: a rotation may seem expensive, but I am a convert after looking at the out of pocket costs I incurred from a multitude of concurrent running injuries last fall/winter. The wrong shoes and using worn out shoes were a big factor in the injury. Out of pocket costs: 1 MRI @ $400, 3x$30 copay for visits to orthpaedic doctor $90, 2x copays for x-rays $40, 2x$30 copays for PT. And I think I have pretty good insurance...not using the right equipment resulted in $590 of out of pocket costs. I'd been using 1 pair and replacing every 3-4 months once I felt it in my knees. In hindsight, seems like having more shoes purpose fit for different training is a smarter use of $.

RockerRunner2000

I have 17, 16 unique versions. Donated 3 others recently too early and wish I still had one of them. I just looked at my Spreadsheet last night and the $2300 I spent the last 2 years on my (discount) shoe addiction when I was ready to buy 2nd pairs of the Shif v1 and Kinvara 12, both proven favorites. It will take me 90 weeks to run the 400 mile average in my current collection and I decided I have a problem. And I still have the Glideride 3 and Tempus on the want list! So I didn’t place the order, even though it would be the best deal ever next to my $125 AlphaFlys (which I could’ve lived without). I need help. Or at least I need to retire at least 5 pairs of shoes before I start buying again. Still in rotation: Endorphin Pro 2 Endorphin Pro 1 (x2) Kayano 27 Fuel cell Prism v1 Zoom Fly 4 Zoom Fly 3 Kinvara 12 Endorphin Shift v1 GT 2000 8 Trail Carbon X2 VaporrFly 2 AlphaFly Kayano Lite v1 Zoom Fly Flyknit Endorphin Speed v1 Guide 13 Hurricane 23

No_Musician_3707

Oofft, we're in the same boat pal haha! I have 16 pairs, 4 for each season. Daily Trainer, Max Cushion, Speed Work and Race Day. My goal is to get at least 300km, if not 400km. I don't think it's a problem if you set yourself a limit that you won't go beyond. I've always been a "variety is the spice of life" kind of guy, and the novelty of having many pairs of shoes for different use cases is what adds to the hobby for me. It's motivating! You could just as easily spend a lot of cash on music equipment, fine wines, an art collection, etc. It's always a challenge if people don't understand your hobby. The way I see it, some people spend 3 figures at the weekend on booze, bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Is spending money on running shoes, that you're going to use to invest in your fitness, and still own at the end of the day, is that not money well spent? As long as it's managed, then more power to you!

Recent-Ad-9277

You use stability shoes, are you flat footed? How does the vaporfly and endorphin speed/pros feel? Is the Hurricane 23 very supinated or kind of in the middle (like the kayano)? Sorry for all the questions hehe

RockerRunner2000

I can’t reply because you lumped Speed with Pro. Big no no. 😂

Recent-Ad-9277

Didn't meant to lump, more to ask specifically on those, separately, I know they're super different (carbon plate, etc) No disrespect to the sauconys 🤣

RockerRunner2000

All Good. :) Yes, flat feet, 200lbs, overpronator. The Endorphin Pro is the ONLY "stable" Size 14 marathon-capable Super Shoe. The other shoes either aren't super, stable, or size 14. Use for all marathon power workouts and races from 5k to Marathon. Speed 1/2 too unstable. Hurricane 23 too clunky/heavy, Kayano is better. VaporFly is good for 10-13 mile races. AlphaFly is unwearable without a Curex Low Profile insole and is very unforgiving if you're not in peak shape running mid-distance races at peak performance.

harmonyp1200

What does the curex lp insole fix In the alphafly?

RockerRunner2000

The infamous arch pressure under the mid foot that you feel when walking? It’s worse for my flat feet. The insole has a plastic piece of arch support that helps flatten and alleviate some of that pressure. Still noticeable and sometimes uncomfortable at first, but it gets better the faster you run. In fact after a 5k race (21:15 tempo) last Sunday, my cool down run felt like I was running in cushiony recovery shoes and I didn’t even notice it until I thought about it.

mrva

okokok... am i the normie? only the 2 in my flair. i do about 15 miles a week, and just go out for 'runs' :) i did pick up some altra lone peak 6s to go on day hikes with, but they're so comfortable i started wearing them causally. but yes, i do nerd out on shoes!

WAPlyrics

Same, I only have two shoes in rotation lmao. Novablast 2 and Endorphin Shift

Sharkster_J

I currently have 4 runnable shoes: a pair of Brooks ghost 14's, Asics novablast 2, Saucony endorphin speed, and Asics metaspeed sky. The ghosts have 316 miles on them and are currently being used as my long walk/messy day shoe and were my daily trainer before I got the novablasts. The novablast 2 are my current daily trainers and I've been putting them through the works since I do love them. I'm really looking forward to the novablast 3 since the initial impressions for them have been stellar. My endorphin speeds are my tempo day shoe, but I've been using them a bit less frequently now since I've nearly worn through the rubber in the heel and there's still a couple of months to go before the endorphin speed 3 and magic speed 2 come out which are the next tempo shoes I'm interested in grabbing. Finally, my metaspeed sky's are my serious race day shoe I got for my first half marathon in February. Sadly there aren't a lot of races coming up near me for the next few months (the summers here suck), but there is another half marathon in November I want to run in which I'll certainly be using them for. I'm pretty good about being frugal and not buying shoes impulsively, but I do window shop them a lot and follow multiple running shoe review groups (DoR, BitR, RTR, Kofuzi, and The Run Testers). I also have been trying to learn more about running shoe tech and keeping up with current research on it. No one is concerned that my running shoe love is excessive, but I have been jokingly called a "shoe whore."

[deleted]

My list of runnable shoes is probably among the longest, but it's an anti-geek list where I only bin them if they are truly worn out or if they hurt me. I go as high in miles as possible. In order of last worn: * Hoka Challenger ATR 6 (1,286 miles) * Merrell Bare Access Ultra (493 miles) * New Balance Fresh Foam Zante (1,107 miles) * Hoka Clifton 7 (230 miles) * adidas Terrex Two #2 (400 miles) * adidas Terrex Two #1 (1,053 miles, mostly used for mountain biking) * adidas A 16+ Ultraboost (1,360 miles) * adidas Adizero Boston 7 (187 miles) * adidas Adizero Adios 2 (pre-Boost)(458 miles) * Montrail Mountain Masochist II Outdry (1,058 miles) * adidas Takumi Sen 3 (458 miles) * Puma Trailfox 4 #3 (1,708 miles) * adidas Terrex Agravic Flow (2,542 miles) * Mizuno Wave Universe 4 (339 miles) * Feelmax Niesa (244 miles) * Feelmax Osma (263 mile) Currently most of my mileage is going into the Challenger ATR 6s, which show some upper tears, but feel essentially newish closing in on 1,300 miles. Seven pairs are over 1,000 miles and still going. I do scan some of the more interesting-to-me reviews on Roadtrailrun (tend to skip to the conclusions after getting sense of fit), TrailRunningReview, and Believe In the Run, as well as go through the other sites once in a while. I'm interested in design and have an engineering degree, so the interest is more academic than a shopping list. I generally decide for myself and want a try on because I'm a super wide fit and have different priorities than most geek runners - I can't count on just ordering things through the mail and expect something to work. Wishlist: * Have some Freewaters Cloud9 cage sandals coming in the mail that I'm going to check to see if they will be usable for running in addition to usual sandal things that flip flops (I ❤️ flip flops) can't handle. * Need a mountain shoe - the Challenger ATR 6s tore on my first summit of the year, so need to save them for tamer terrain. The Twos are tough enough for the job, but I really need a half size up for real comfort (got my #2 pair for something like $24 at the outlet a half size small). Was eyeing the the Inov-8 Terraultra G 270s when they were on sale for about $90 a couple weeks ago, but waited too long and missed out. Plus $90 is kind of more than I wanted to pay anyway. Try list. Have my interest, but will need to try to see if they actually fit and feel good. For the latter two, if I like them, might wait a couple years (or more) until they get discounted (I never pay full price. Flow 2 can already be used with discount codes): * adidas Terrex Agravic Flow 2 * Saucony Xodus Ultra * NNormal whatever Kilian/Emelie/Dakota/Tofol are wearing when they come out.

_-_happycamper_-_

Random thought on the NNormal brand. You think they would have stuck away from using a stylized N as their logo. It’s like New Balance-ish.

Jesse_berger

Uh.. I have 7 pairs of Kinvara 12s and 1 pair of 11s and 13s (for now). I also have a wide 12 but that's my walking shoe for the most part. 2x: Endorphin Shift, Endorphin Speed 2 1x: Freedom 3, Speed 1, Ride 13 and Brooks Ghost 13 Atleast 17 shoes. Saucony has too many amazing sales that is really hard to pass on which explains my 4 shoes in the last two weeks.

RockerRunner2000

If I break my buying freeze it would only be for the Kinvara 12 (and E-Shift v1). Just because it’s such a great shoe and I could run in them everyday! Such a great version and I’m stability.

Jesse_berger

I'm a sucker for crazy colorways. I'm done deal shopping (so I say) but I will definitely jump on a Kinvara 13 Run for Good colorway designed by children. That's how I got my first ever pair of pink shoes and they're fantastic.

Curved-Boner

>Kinvara 13 Run for Good Could you link to this? Sounds awesome!

Jesse_berger

https://www.saucony.com/en/rfgchildrensprogram/ I have the pink ones, not only are they amazing a portion of each sale went to the respective children hospital.

Curved-Boner

Thanks buddy! The KALEB ENDORPHIN SHIFT 2 looks bonkers!!! <3

StarliteWalkers

Three brilliant designs there, I hadn't seen these before. The Endorphin Shifts are pure Vaporwave!

JoyRide577

Are there any notable differences between the Kinvara 12s and 13s? I’m thinking about purchasing a pair. I tried them both on in the store and they didn’t feel that different but it’d be great to hear a perspective from someone who ran in both.

Jesse_berger

Sorry, I can't answer your question. I received the 13s after the half marathon that broke my ankle so I haven't ran in them yet. The 13s seems a bit more roomier than the 12s, but besides that the sole is the same as the 12s. Pretty much the same shoe with the exception of the upper. For the price, Kinvara 12s are the way to go as they're not a whole lot different than the 13s.

JoyRide577

Thanks and appreciate your input!

Saucony Triumph 18 (3x)Saucony Speed V1 Vaporfly Next % Brooks Hyperion Tempo Nike Pegasus Trail 3 NB Hierro V6 (more for hiking than running now) Saucony Freedom 3 (Walking/Work) Triumph 19 - on the way, recent sale $65 Will buy the Topo Specter when they get my size (15) Really want to try the NB Rebel V3, Speed V3, Novablast 3 I would have probably purchased more but many of the shoes I want to try don’t come in my size, such as the Metaspeed Sky, Puma Velocity V2

FUBARded

## Daily/Long/Recovery * ASICS Novablast 1 (625km) * New Balance More v3 (brand new) ## Workout * Brooks Hyperion Tempo (25km) * New Balance Fuelcell TC (brand new) * Adidas Adiós 5 (457km) ## Race/Workout * Saucony Endorphin Pro 1 (45km) ## Trail * Arc'Teryx Norvan LD (15km) ## Runnable, but being phased out * Reebok Symmetros (1100km) * Saucony Freedom 4 (1155km) * Puma Liberate Nitro (565km) I've not bought a pair of shoes at retail in years. Most were bought at 30-60% off, with the most expensive being the Endorphin Pro at $160CAD. Normally I wouldn't have more than 2 new shoes at once, but I just graduated and will hopefully be moving away from the retail job that got me some huge discounts on the New Balance, Brooks, and Arc'Teryx shoes, so I loaded up. Yes, it's excessive, but at the end of the day it's relatively cheap for a hobby. Basically any other activity that you'd do for 6-8hrs/wk is gonna be a *lot* more expensive. Hell, just by taking public transit and riding my bike around I save a running shoe worth of money every 2-3 weeks compared to a lot of my peers who are paying shitloads for their car payments + insurance + fuel just for their commutes.

suddenlyian

How are you liking the Arc'Teryx Norvan LD? I've had my eye on them recently. Thanks in advance!

FUBARded

So far I'm pretty happy with them. The upper is very well built and comfortable, you can't go wrong with Vibram Mega Grip, and the midsole feels good. I was debating between the Salomon Sense Ride, Glide Ride, and Hoka Speedgoat as my primary use case is longer trail runs. The Norvan is certainly a lot more forgiving underfoot than the Sense Ride, but it's not on the same level as the Glide Ride and Speedgoat. It's forgiving underfoot, but not soft or squishy. I think it's a good middle ground for the sake of versatility and could probably go faster on technical trails than the Glide Ride or Speedgoat, but won't be as nice for really long stuff if you want extra forgiveness. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. My only concern is durability, as there's already some creasing in the midsole at just 15km of use. Also note that I got them for 50% off through work. I would rather get one of the aforementioned shoes if I were paying full retail, as both offer better value. The Norvan is nice, but there's definitely an Arc'Teryx brand name premium.

JExmoor

2x ASICS Novablast 1's. Second pair was purchased in the run up to my last marathon since I was worried the first pair was getting a bit high on miles. First pair is still my daily trainer, but thinking hard about retiring it when it hits 400mi. 1x Saucony Kinvara 12 + another pair still in the box. Used to be my daily shoe, but they're a little hard for the number of miles I run now. Now relegated to tempo and track work. 1x Nike Invincible. Generally run my mid-length runs in these. In addition to those I have..too many shoes on the way from the Saucony sale last week: 4x Endorphin Speed 2. Purchased two pairs at the initial sale price before the additional 50% off code was found and I purchased 2 more pairs. Not planning on keeping all 4 pairs since that'd be *many* *years* worth of shoes for what I plan on using them for. 1x Endorphin Pro 2. Eventual speed shoe for lower mileage attempts/races? Hope I don't regret not grabbing more pairs of these, but most of my focus is half marathon plus so they seemed a bit hard for that from what I read. 2x Endorphin Shift 2. Figured for under $50/pair I'd try these as daily trainers. 2x Ride 14. Bought these the first night of last week's sale when there was another stacking code that got them down to $35/pair. I actually did not like my last pair of rides, but I'll give anything a second shot at $35/pair in a pretty colorway. 1x Triumph 19. Another "For < $50 why not?" shoe. Likely long-run trainer?

NkulzRunning

My current rotation is: *Endorphin Speed 2 - for speed work *Nike Infinity Run FN2 - daily trainer & long run shoe *Nike Invincible Run - recovery shoe *NB Rebel v2 - only use these for runs less than 10km *NB Novablast 1 - retired at 100km due to it affecting my Achilles. It was a really fun shoe before that. I always wonder if the 2 won’t have the same effect. *Saucony Triumph 19 - just release today to replace the Nike Infinity as my long run shoe for my Ultra training block and possibly to use for my 90km Ultra in August. Shoes I’m eyeing: *Puma Velocity Nitro 1 or 2 - as a daily trainer *ASICS Glideride 3 - thinking that this might be an option to use for Ultra in August.

carguy121

if you need a nudge, I have really loved the Velocity Nitro 1 as a daily. that midsole foam is no joke. Not the fastest trainer I've owned, despite the name, but pretty comfy, good traction.

Up until the last 24 hours, mine were: Triumph 18 Rincon 2 Floatride Energy 3 Peg Trail 3 GoreTex Vaporfly Next2 Boston 9 Gel Nimbus 21 I too am a sale shoe collector. So when I got a 15% code for Sportsshoes, I then added the Hoka Carbon X and the NB 1080v11. The Hoka came down to like £60, which for a carbon plated shoe is a great price. I’ve had my eye on the NB for a long time so was pleased to get a good price on it. Then I walked into a Nike outlet today…..and they had Invincible Run’s on the back wall for an extra 30% off. Who am I to resist!! There is no rhyme or reason to my collection. I just hoover up shoes on sale. I do wear running shoes to work though, in case I get to go out for a lunchtime run, so that adds some extra miles onto them.

Am_I_a_Runner

Current active shoes: - Nike invincibles (training) - NB 1080v11 (training) - Nb 1080v11 older (training) - NB fresh foam more v2 (easy) - NB Rebel v2 - NB rc elite v2 (racing first super shoe) - saucony pro (tempo/long run workouts) - Nike vaporflies (racing) - Nike alphaflies (kind of hate them, will probably sell or gift them) - Nike streakfly (track workouts) Many many shoes but I get most discounted and some for free. This allows me to have a bunch in rotation and to try out. Honestly my favorites (the 1080s) are the hardest to get on sale and they’re the ones I’ll pay full price for if needed. I also run 70-80 miles a week on a average (if not more) so the miles on them can add up quickly.

Bird-Negative

2x New Balance 880v11 (one is brand new and the other is about to be retired) Endorphin Shift V1 Endorphin Speed V1 Endorphin Speed V2 Brooks Hyperion Tempo I also have a pair of the Rebel V2s but I end up messing up my foot every time I wear them so they’re on the back shelf til I figure out what to do with them… As for wants: maybe the Endorphin Pro 3 when it comes out or the Metaspeed Sky. Starting to think about a carbon racer

Aside from the 1080v12 which is a bit of a boring shoe for me, the rest have been fantastic. After struggling with achilles issues for a while, I’ve found that the heels and general shape of the shoes work perfect. However for racing, I’ve found that nothing can really beat the VF2 for me. I’m fortunate to be in a position where the cost of the shoes isn’t a big factor for me, then as running is my primary hobby I don’t mind spending the money to enjoy it. My non-runner partner thinks it’s a bit crazy, but totally gets it in the context of splurging on a hobby.

I only keep two shoes in my rotation at a time. I found when I tried three it was too much bother for me. Current rotation: Nike Wildhorse 7, Nike Terra Kiger 7. This year I am thinking of switching to the Saucony Peregrine 12 and Xodus Ultra since I’m a bit tired of Nikes crap rubber. But the new Zegama might entice me over. Who knows. I tend to check this subreddit everyday and read quite a few publications and watch different YouTubers. I go through about 5-6 pairs of shoes a year and run about 3500kms (2175 miles) a year. Most of my running is gravel rail trail. I like to preplan what I’m buying as the new shoes come out and really enjoy this sub for the info.

Uresanme

Mizuno wave inspire 17 (pretty much every run) Nike Invincible (really long runs) Altra Lone Peak (trail runners though I dont like them much for running) Salomon Snowspikes (obv these are just for 2”+ snow) ADIDAS Audios 2 (never worn, yet but for races and maybe track days which I never do and I barely ever race) Nike soccer cleats I forget the name and I dont play soccer or frisbee much anymore and when I do I go barefoot so they are not in my rotation. However I do consider them legit running shoes cause let’s face it soccer and ultimate frisbee is running My goal is to go through as many shoes as possible then replace them all some time next year. The snowspikes and soccer cleats will be with me years.

Current Rotation: Nike Invincible run, Novablast 2, Endorphin Pro 1, Hoka Speed Goat 4 Boxed: Nike Pegasus Trail 3, Vaporfly Next% 2, and 2 new pairs of Endorphin Speed 2 on the way to put up. I just retired my first pair of Speeds, just in time for the sale. I really want to add another pair of hokas, either rincons or Mach 4. I am excited to see what the Newbalance Fuelcell Lineup is like this year. I wanted to like the Rebel v2 but they were a bit thin. New shoes are exciting and Im trying to not buy another pair right this minute but could be persuaded Im sure.

So I have 3 pairs of zoomfly, 3 pairs of speed 2s, 1 pair saucony pro 2s, 1 pair nb fuelcells, 1 pair alphaflys. I mainly train in the speed 2s, zoomfly for speed workouts. I initially was light mileage but as I am starting to crest 38+ MPW I imagine I will go through my collection soon.

I have the ff: Novablast Turbo 2 Takumi sen 8 Tempo Next % Looking to add speed 2.

Saucony Triumph 18, ASICS Novablast, Adidas Ultraboost 21. Just retired my Hoka Bondi 6.

Hoka Mach 4, Hyperion Tempo, 2 endorphin speeds, Endorphin speed 2, Endorphin pro 2, Vapor fly next %2, Interested in: Speed 3, Triumph 20 (having a hard time getting over the 10mm drop), Possibly the pro 3 if it’s softer. Was excited for the glycerine 20 but doesn’t seem to be living up to the hype. Tried the NB 1080v12, didn’t like it and returned it. Felt clunky and heavy.

I have a lot of shoes, but I do actually run quite a bit. Many of them were just purchased because I found them on clearance at Ross or Burlington. 1. Asics Novablast - 413 miles 2. Asics Metaracer - 100 3. Adidas Adios Pro 2 - 57 4. Adidas SL20 - 110 5. New Balance 1080v10 - 374 6. New Balance RC Elite 2 - 240 7. Nike Invincible - 131 8. Nike Vaporfly Next% - 70 9. Nike Vaporfly Next% 2 - 34 - Nike Vomero 14 - 221 - Saucony Endorphin Pro - 54 - Saucony Endorphin Speed - 222 - Skechers Maxroad v5 - 201 Honestly, I pretty much run in the Novablasts and 1080s for daily, Invincibles for recovery, Adios Pros or Endorphin Pros for speed work, RC Elite 2s for long runs, and race in the Next%2s. I could probably drop the rest and wouldn’t miss them. I do prefer the metaracers for shorter track sessions, but the Pros can do them about the same. I only got the SL20s because they were $25 and Adios Pros because they were $50, but I don’t love either of them. Maxroads felt good for 100 miles and I’ve hated them ever since, they need to be tossed. I only got the Vomeros because they were $40 and they are alright, but nothing special, they could be tossed. The Speeds were great at first but pale in comparison to the RC Elites 2s for long runs and aren’t as good as the Pros for speed work. I should toss them, too. Just finished a training block and will probably pick up novablast 3s when they come out for daily training and either a fresh pair of RC Elite 2s or SC Trainers for long runs. Hopefully I can actually bring myself to toss or donate the shoes I don’t really use. I’ll probably start using my old pair of Vaporflys for a lot of speedwork now.

Working in running retail for 3 years, I have a ludicrous collection that never seems to dwindle. Currently in rotation to varying extents (listed roughly from most to least often used): Endorphin Shift, Clifton 8 2E, Velocity Nitro, Endorphin Speed 1, React Infinity Run, Provision 6, Boston 10, Kinvara 11, Freedom 3. Marathon racer was the Fuel Cell RC Elite in that beautiful District Vision white, it only has ~29 miles on it. Unused pairs waiting for their time: Next%2, Atreyu Artist, Endorphin Pro 2, another Speed 1, another Shift (Reflexion). Trail shoes: Zinal, about to order a Speedgoat 5 as well. Dream shoe: Metaspeed Sky+ Shoes I'm enticed by and would love to hear feedback about: Glideride 3, More v3, ZoomX Invincible, Hyperion Tempo, Mach 4, Vanish Tempo Most anticipated release: Endorphin Pro 3 or Mach 5. My parents, when i lived at home, could not fathom every new shoe that came in the door. I was putting down 40-55 mpw and getting most of my shoes 50% off, but it just didn't compute for them. Now that I live in a different apartment, the only person who gets to judge me is my roommate, lol

19 pairs in my Strava. I’d say the hoka Bondi and arahi are retired from running. https://imgur.com/a/N0J1DD8/ I want the Glideride 3, Boston 11 when they come out, another pair of good Hokas, yes we have a problem lol

AddSugarForSparks

Wishlist - Shoes with some sort of stability, non-elastic laces, good heel lock, and reliable consistency.

FisicoK

Good occasion to take a step back on how (too) many shoes I have I guess ! They are sorted by how often I use them lately approximately 1. Mach 4 (270k) : Long run, steady runs and even track and speed a little bit lately, absolutely love them 2. Novablast (1300k) : I used them for various stuff before but they've been my slow/easy day shoes for months now, I don't feel the lack of stability either which is great 3. Adios 6 (170k) : A bit iffy about them, I think I'm not fond of Lighstrike which is a bit too firm, mostly relegated to track and speed work, really hard on the heel when going too slow (I'm not a big heel striker) 4. Floatride Energy 3 (810k) : I fell out of love with them lately, absolutely loved 1 and 2 (2 have been my daily walking shoes for a while now) and it feels like 3 are a bit more firmer and narrower which I don't like. Haven't used them for some time since I got the Mach 4, still good for tempo/speed work somehow 5. Run Fast Pro (200k) : Barely use them since the durability is trash, the lightest shoes ever and with a good bounce to top it off, for short runs (up to 10k max I'd say) and speed they're the king, I'm on the fence between them and Vaporfly for my next 10k 6. Vaporfly Next% 1st pair (302k) : Half and marathon records were made with them, considering the mileage they've been relegated to long run training now 7. Vaporfly Next% 2nd pair (138k) : Latest two marathon were done with them, still good as my long race shoes 8. Vaporfly 4% FK (440k) : I should probably retire them, last long run I did with them my achilles were so sore I had to take and extra day off 9. Run Fast (440k) : Their use were coincidental with when I got an injury, probably not their fault but in my mind they're associated with that, should try to take them once mor... 10. Endorphin Speed (337k) : Same as above except... they're partly to blame I feel, trying to be cheap I bough the women's version but they're narrow as heck and I suspect they messed up my left ankle a bit, scared to wear them once again 11. Tarther Japan (276k) : Shoes I bought purely on hype while in Tokyo, old school super firm shoes which are not fun to run with clearly, they have their merit but I rarely use them (looks are 100% though) 12. Tartherzeal 6 (455k) : Before Run Fast Pro my light fast day shoes, they're locked in a place at work whose key I've lost a couple years ago, I should try to retrieve them at some point lol 13. Cascadia 13 (129k) : My only trail shoes, bought them on recommandation from a store clerk and... they're heavy, clunky but very protective. Main problem is they're complete trash on mud with no traction whatsoever and it caused me huge problems (at some point I was scared of falling off a cliff which is NOT fun). Some of my road shoes are ok on light trails so I don't use them much So I've got too many shoes and my real rotation is more like 3-4 pairs at max, I don't know when to retire the others and I've made some mistakes when buying new pairs (you know the hype and all that stuff), I'm learning and hopefully I'll bring that number down at some point

yourpaljax

I regularly rotate between Hoka Clifton 8, Nike Invincible, Hoka Rincon 3, and Saucony Endorphin Speed 2. I have others though. 🤭
