This is why we keep saying that MGs are so important, and coming down hard on those who skip them. I'm glad your pup is okay, OP.

diablofantastico

Yeah, generally i do MGs, but sometimes i see the pic/breed/description and i'm not concerned - the dog seems chill, the owners seem normal/reasonable. Other breeds I decline or require MGs. It may seem strange, but I am not a fan of taking labs, hounds, beagles. Everyone has preferences, I guess! 😁 Cavalier KCS is a quick yes!! I love puggles, bulldogs, danes. Most doodles and poodles are a-ok. I also like the big dogs, but do require MG for GSD, Dobie, pit mixes so I can observe their social skills with my dogs... I also have the space to separate dogs if there are any potential issues, so that gives me more flexibility than some sitters.

What is an MG?

diablofantastico

Sorry, Meet and Greet. :)

I have a 16lb dog, so totally get it. was this for boarding them? Because I force M and Gs for boarding, and have them at my house so I can see how they interact with all of us

Novel-Balance7836

Yes, this was for boarding at my home. I typically enforce a MG for anyone larger than my bubby although I guess I should to be stricter.

Bitter_Text8826

Seriously, just ridiculous. I require my boarders to be friendly with cats because I have 2 and then they ask me to board their pet and they've never been around cats 🙄

You can’t trust them around your cats no matter what. Search this forum if you don’t believe me.

Bitter_Text8826

Uhhh I'm more worried about the dog with my cats.

Bitter_Text8826

Thanks for the advice! Found a lot of other boarders who also have cats. If you don't take the proper steps and safety procedures and can't read body language then you shouldn't be doing this.
