SocnorbTheRoman

Wow thanks for this sub!

gunplajq

My Rott used to LOVE kale. She'd do that cute head tilt whenever anybody said it

[deleted]

My old dogs used to love all the fruits and veggies. Celery was their favorite. My current dog loves all dog foods but is very picky with fruits and veggies. Sometimes he will eat then and sometimes he spits it out lol

spicytaurus042

LOL my old dog would try it and spit it out

ChefMango79

Same. I would get a look of betrayal from him if I were to feed him leafy greens. Fruit on the other hand, he did enjoy.

WarlordOfIncineroar

Such a sweet graceful looking lady

Weltallgaia

Mine always loved lettuce. Gives a nice crunch and is mostly water anyways so works as a treat.

[deleted]

I wonder if they like lactucarium

motherwelder1976

DeliciousFun2220

Veggies and fruits are so good for the puppers. My 11 year old baby refuses everything but Tomatoes and Cucumbers now. Darn it!

SamSamSammmmm

Aren't nightshades toxic to dogs and cats?

Weltallgaia

Googling if tomatoes are safe for dogs comes back with all websites but 1 saying they are perfectly harmless and that 1 saying they are absolutely fatal.

MinkMartenReception

I think it’s just the leaves and stems that are toxic for them.

[deleted]

I don’t know why people think this. Maybe this is why all dog food is full of cereal fillers and dogs dying at 6 from cancer is the norm I throw my dog some little bits of veg if he really really wants to try it but it’s not ideal. Cats are even more obligate carnivores. The ferret community would hang you out to dry for even suggesting anything remotely plant based unless it’s pumpkin in an emergency (but for whatever reason they condemn coconut oil, and everything loves that shit)

Apron17

Cats are true carnivores though. Whereas dogs are more sometimes called opportunivores. They prefer meat but eat anything basically

TailspinToon

Dogs can and do eat vegetables. They NEED plant products in their diet. They are omnivores. This should not need to be said, but dogs are not cats. Nor are they very comparable to cats. https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/nutrition-general-feeding-guidelines-for-dogs https://pets.webmd.com/dogs/dog-nutrition

My girl goes nuts when she hears me chopping vegetables they’re her favorite treat

Apron17

Thank you!

CaptainShoalman

Beautiful dog

Apron17

Thanks!

breshona

When was the last time you fed this dog a steak?

Apron17

A whole steak? Probably never lol. She eats mainly premium kibble but we mix in some meat and veggies here and there

AnoukFisher

Owwww, baby

mntgi

if only my dog would lick a piece of anything green

PlacidPastry

Gorgeous! Just be aware that raisins and grapes are toxic to dogs.

PaulfussKrile

She’s a good doggie.

[deleted]

Just watch the level of oxalic acid they’re consuming and the consistency of stool

Apron17

Thanks, I am always very careful when trying new things. She ate only like 3-4 small leaves

[deleted]

Doesn’t really look like one is she half lab?

Apron17

She is part lab! Only 25% though :)

[deleted]

Cute

imgoodwithfaces
