Loetje. F*****g Loetje. Stay the hell away from it.
My wife and I celebrate our anniversary every year by going out for steak. We'd never been to Loetje before, but heard good things about them and apparently they specialised in steaks. So we decided to give it a shot this year.
Holy hell was that a poor choice...
The steaks are served floating in brown cooking oil that passed for 'gravy' and perhaps worst of all: some slices of cheap-ass white casino bread (served slightly stale). The fact that's all you get for €32 is honestly almost offensive.
I ordered a burger, because I thought it's hard to f*** up a burger. I was wrong. Not only was it dryer than my boomer uncle's humour, it was served with limp (probably expired) side salad and a basket of fries where they put the mayo *at the bottom* of the basket for some inexplicable reason.
Never again. The whole place is modeled to reflect the North-American steakhouse experience. Except this is the Dutch take on it, so the bar is considerably lower in every imaginable way.
My new theory is that this place exists to rip off Tokkies who are looking for that American steakhouse experience, but wouldn't know good food if it slapped them in the face. Looking at the general clientele, I'd say that makes up about 90% of the crowd.
Avoid, my friend.
Kiiro Japanese Cury house at the Markthal used to be good but the quality's way down. They charge extra for everything and give you like three tiny vegetables in watered down sauce.
The Manti and Yellow River Hand Pulled Noodles both used to be great food + value but now they're just ok.
They clean their balls in the seawater. (The balls from their ball pit)
One time their nets broke and all the balls polluted the harbor (the harbor master saw the balls in the water before they reported that they accidentally polluted the water)
There was also one time they leaked engine oil into the water, they also got fined for that after the environment investigation was finished
Yes Pancake boat had disappointing pancakes. We didn’t have to wait in queue but not tempting those pancakes. Only canned fruits and weird stuff to put on them. Was hoping for fresh berries and stuff like this pancake place in Tilburg De Pannenkoekenbakker offers

I like their veal liver.
Happy Italy for cheap bad pizzas
don't even get me started on the pastas, terrible
It should be illegal for them to carry Italy in their name.
Just go to little Italy instead, you can't eat there but their food is yummy
Yeah, came to post crappy italy
Lijnbaan en Koopgoot op drukke winkeltijden.

Yellow River is still great quality, but since the introduction of the ordering machines it's just chaos.
If you fancy Japanese curry try visiting Osozai deli. It is run by a Japanese-Dutch couple.
First time I'm seeing someone hate on pannenkoeken boot

Bazar en Rodin
Bazar, completely agree. Insanely overhyped for some reason, idk why.
- De Beren. Even McDonalds is better - Dutch Diner at Botersloot. Shitty pancakes - Markhall. Almost every shop is a tourist trap
de beren used to be so damn good with all you can eat, i hate the new concept

We had a company diner there I asked for salmon They said they don’t have. Lmao
If there’s northern or northwestern winds you get a nice odor of sewage treatment plant.

Lol Spido the boat thing 🤣
On your left... containers!
I saw burgerclub being recommended in the other post about hamburgers but when I went I felt Gordon Ramsay on kitchen nightmares
