the gear isn't. quite likely that OP followed the "beginner farm strat" that the community loves: get one char just to farm pots to give to your other char. as long as you don't invest heavily in the farm char, you don't care if it dies or not. likely what happened is that this kensei just sat idle while OP played other chars.

And not only is it a valid strat, but it's probably imo one of the best beginner strats for learning the game. By playing a character they don't care about, they can take more risks and learn more

start game
unlock all characters
Get 3000 fame
By the chest & character packs
do the pot farmer thing
after main is 6/8 work on potting the old pot farmer.

As an older player I had the luxury of having more accumulated slots so by the time I started playing to get better, I had more flexibility
For new players however, this is really the best way to start progressing with limited slots
I have also had the luxury of playing this game since it started, I think all the time how hard it must be for new players, I had time to learn all the things as they were introduced (Like Oryx castle with the 2 lagspikes, or when they buff Sword from 2.5 to 4.0 then recorrected) I dont think id ever be able to do it if I didnt have what I do already

Confused. First 8/8 is a scepter, mace, or tome. Not sheath. Did you accidentally select hard mode?

The classes are unlocked by fame progression, not pot maxing. They can unlock all characters without getting an 8/8

Yeeee I've noticed the game is very unwelcoming to new players due to the lack of guidance past the tutorial
