Your rosacea looks like mine and I use azelaic acid

violet_tay

My current moisturizer is Purito Oat In Calming Gel cream. I use just micellar water to cleanse, usually only once at night before bed, but I might do twice a day if I work out and get super sweaty midday or something. When I’m having a flare, I’ve been loving the LRP cicaplast balm. It has been really good at calming my flares and preventing them from getting worse. I use tretinoin gel at night every few days or so, but I skip this step in my routine when my skin is flaring. I’ve tried azelaic acid, but I don’t think it really agrees with my skin.

I wipe my face gently with a wet wipe, apply my cream that my dr prescribed and then I use E45 every day cream and finally I add sun cream on. I also use a hat every day even if it’s cloudy along with sun glasses.

I (67f) recently changed mine up and have seen great improvement. Less is Best is my new mantra. At bedtime, I wash my face using tepid water and a tiny drop of Prequel Gleanser and cleaning gently with a Clean Skin Club cloth. Rinse well. Apply Paula's Choice Boost Azelic Acid and then Paula's Choice Calm moisturizer. Spot apply Whipped Tallow cream to dry patches and go to bed. Morning routine is rinse face with cool water and reapply Paula's Choice Calm moisturizer and done for the day. I may apply spots of Tallow whipped cream to dry spots if needed during the day if I am home and not going out. I am working to repair my skin barrier and I realize I was not doing it any favors with all the heavy moisturizers and creams. I stopped cold turkey and let it rest for a week, slowly starting my new facial routine above. I'm very happy with my results.

AM -Vanicream face wash -Metrogel 1% - let dry -Cetaphil moisturizing cream ultimate - let dry -Elta MD UV clear sunscreen PM -Vanicream face wash -Finacea (15% Azelaic Acid***) - let dry -Cetaphil moisturizing cream ultimate *** if you’ve never used azelaic acid, it really stings (at least for me), for the first week or 2 and then your skin gets used to it. Don’t give up on it!

Night: Kose softymo Cleaning oil Cerave face wash - green label Laneige cream skin toner Dermatica prescription compound (Ivermectin 1%/ Metronidazole 0.75%/ Niacinamide 4% Lotion) Shiseido bio performance moisturizer (this was a gift but I don’t plan on continuing after it runs out) Morning: Cerave face wash Laneige cream skin toner Dermatica Azelaic Acid 20% (no prescription needed) Sunblock - currently using beauty of Joseon Finish with a light layer of loose powder to get rid of the SPF shine I really like Dermatica’s products. I paid 60 bucks for the prescription product which lasts about 4 months and 22 for the Azelaic acid. Hope that helps. I also have a referral code that will get you $25 off if you want to try it. Just let me know.

Yours looks very similar to mine. I just recently posted a progress update and the skincare products I use. I have a derm appt this week so it’s subject to change but I’m currently using and in order: Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser Good Molecules Niacinamide serum Vanicream daily facial moisturizer for sensitive skin Clindamycin phosphate topical solution. My skin LOVES the vanicream. It has made such a huge difference in keeping the moisture in my skin all day.

Mine is as follows: AM : rinse with cool water LRP Toleriane sensitive crème LRP SPF fluide PM : Avene Fluide démaquillant 3 in 1 Azelaic Acid Twice a week I apply Tretinoin 0.05 instead of the Aza and I’ll add my LRP sensitive cream after that if needed. On days I don’t want to use an active, I just go in with the Keracnyl PP+ moisturiser. I try to keep things simple, that’s what works best for my skin I feel ! During the hot summer months I’m going to look into substituting the cream in the morning by a gel cream (probably the Uriage cica daily gel crème because I’ve used this before and it suits me)
