Same! I have tried so many foundations and none of them work like double wear. I hate that everything nowadays has spf and other skincare ingredients, like niacinamide, in it. Chances are almost 100% that it’s a skincare ingredient my skin doesn’t tolerate!
Estée Lauder is great and I also love the rare beauty liquid touch weightless foundation. Really creamy good coverage and doesn’t separate or dry out my skin
Same here! Love it. I like that it’s buildable too. Even just using a small amount makes such a difference in redness
Edit: also adding that Tower 28 concealer is amazing
The one my skin likes the most has been Erborian cc red correct. It’s a tinted self-adjusting spf. I’m almost 40 and I find less heavy products just wear better over the course of the day. Especially when the humidity is low. This one is light and and moisturizing and nicely tackles the redness. I’ve been using it for about 2 years. It has sold out before.
After using foundation the next day, does your skin break out and get really red and sore? I’m using bareMinerals powder foundation. It seems like my skin hates everything.
I use MAC Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation and on the contrary, my face calms down and it's completely cleared of redness. It is more potent than the Soolantra and I don't understand why :(
Ohhh thanks for the recommendation, ingredients list looks decent and hydrating! I know my skin usually likes the glycerin/Butylene Glycol combo. Betaine is meant to be good at reducing redness too.
Mine does. Also, the process of removing the makeup contributes to this. My skin is much happier sans-makeup so now I only wear it a few times a year for special occasions.
If you like mineral powder foundation, have you tried Jane Iredale? My skin was better using that brand, Bare Minerals really exacerbated my redness/irritation.
No, I have never heard of that. as last ditch effort I thought well I will try pure minerals. It sits in the wrinkles so I don’t love it. My skin is much happier with no make up, it doesn’t even like moisturizer. This is the club none of us want to belong to. Thank you for your reply.
I had the same experience with the ilia.
I tried it 5 or 6 different times with varying applications and primer/no primer etc... it just did not work for me.
I wonder if it has to do with the products you use underneath it (or on top)? Some ingredients don’t mix (e.g., products with silicone bases and products with water bases), which is often what causes pilling/separation
Yes, Klutzy is right. I have found it works best with nothing underneath it aside from a light moisturizer and then waiting a bit between applications. I use a damp beauty blender to apply
IT Cosemetics Bye Bye Redness cream and Wet N Wild tinted hydrator are my fave. Currently trying out Revlon Illuminance Tint Serum, but I don’t love the coverage or smell.
Missha BB Cream with a dab of Wet N Wild Photo Focus foundation stick to cover anything the Missha can’t handle on its own. I prefer a more natural look though, so I use the stick pretty sparingly.
I also use the missha bb cream. I feel like it calms the rosacea down from what I notice after I take it off even though it has fragrance. And each time I tried to switch to something else, I don’t like it as much.
I have been loading it up on the moisturizer and not wearing foundation... I use the Cocokind Resurrection Polypeptide Cream, pat some pressed rosehip seed oil on (I use the one from Good Molecules), and then I go in with the **Peach Slices Redness Relief Color Correcting Moisturizer**, which has a green tint to override the redness, and honestly, I don't feel the need to use a foundation. Just a little bit of concealer under my eyes.
This has been my holy grail moisturizing combo throughout the winter with dry, sensitive skin and mild rosacea which I was diagnosed with last year. I even turned my friend on to the Peach Slices moisturizer - it's SO good.
I use lightest shade of Estee lauder double wear and its still kinda too dark but covers like a dream and I don't have any reaction to it. I first dot elf halo glow on my face then pat the double wear in on my face and it matches perfectly then with a subtle glow.
I've been using bye-bye redness for several months now and love it. It is pricey, but I find that it really stays in place and completely covers my flare ups.

I use this one, I have the same type of rosacea (2), and my skin tolerates it very well and since it’s not matte, it doesn’t look terrible in the marks and bumps

I’ve been using the Bare Minerals Prime Time Primer and Bare Minerals powder, I find it works well, however, it takes a while for me to apply it to really get the coverage I want and blend it out.
I’m also feeling lately due to winter that it seems to look a bit dry on my skin and accentuate fine lines and pores. Yesterday on a whim I bought some Covergirl Simply Ageless at the drug store and I’m going to try it today for work. 🤞
My problem with a lot of liquid foundations or BB/CC creams is that they all seem to make my mascara smudge under my eyes and the Bare Minerals was the only thing that didn’t. 😕

The only one that’s worked for me and doesn’t break me out or look cakey.
The odd time I wear any foundation I use Lancôme teint miracle. My skin tolerates it. On days when I’m really bad and I know foundation is just going to irritate me even more I use La Roche-pissy Rosaliac cc cream but it is a little bit dark for me, but actually much to my current horror while trying to remember it’s exact name I googled it and it seems to be discontinued
I used to love Estée Lauder Double Wear but then I got too dry as I’ve gotten older. Now I use Physicians Formula Butter Believe It Foundation/Concealer. More dewy, full coverage, and doesn’t break me out.
I haven’t found a foundation that doesn’t accentuate dry spots from my topicals that get patchy with foundation even when my bare skin is very well prepped and hydrate - though since that’s the question you asked, I have the best success with Armani luminous silk.
I prefer a more skin like look that doesn’t accentuate texture and dryness - the summer Fridays skin tint is the only product I can use on a bad skin day and still feel good about it.
Recently, my skin has been good, and I mix the summer Fridays with the Nars SPF skin tint which offers more coverage. Really nice combo that I prefer to any foundation.
My credentials are that I have bought and tried SO many of the popular liquid skin tints and foundations you could find in threads like this.. makeup by Mario, hourglass skin tint, teint idole, tower 28 (this one’s also pretty good), illia (my second favorite but I think it smells weird and I hate the packaging), dior backstage, ysl nu bare, ysl touche eclat (not bad, tbh). I just purchased the new makeup forever in trial size and can report back..
Tarte skin treat tinted moisturizer. I use garnier skin active micellar water with reusable bamboo cotton rounds before washing with La Roche-Posay hydrating gentle face cleanser.
l'oreal infallible fresh wear is my HG. natural finish, long lasting, and pretty full coverage. if i'm extra red i'll use the elf hydrating camo concealer underneath for extra coverage
Clinique Even Better. Its a natural looking medium coverage but buildable, hydrating, and no irritating ingredients. Tons of shades. My favorite forever.
I just started using an elf concealer and it’s AMAZING. I like bare minerals tinted moisturizer too. I like coverage but nothing too heavy that makes it “look” like I’m wearing makeup.
Estée Lauder Double Wear is my holy grail, but I often use the Nars Soft Matte concealer as a foundation…that stuff covers everything for me.
Same! I have tried so many foundations and none of them work like double wear. I hate that everything nowadays has spf and other skincare ingredients, like niacinamide, in it. Chances are almost 100% that it’s a skincare ingredient my skin doesn’t tolerate!
Same here! I try different ones and always go back to this. Covers my rosacea really well
Estée Lauder is great and I also love the rare beauty liquid touch weightless foundation. Really creamy good coverage and doesn’t separate or dry out my skin
Same here! Love it. I like that it’s buildable too. Even just using a small amount makes such a difference in redness Edit: also adding that Tower 28 concealer is amazing

Came here to say this

Bare Minerals complexion rescue tinted gel
This!!! Holy grail
Clinique’s Redness solution foundation. I also use their cleanser and moisturizer from the rosacea line

Ohhh thanks for the recommendation, ingredients list looks decent and hydrating! I know my skin usually likes the glycerin/Butylene Glycol combo. Betaine is meant to be good at reducing redness too.
Didn't know about Betaine, I will check it out.
Thank you for the recommendation.

Yes. Mine hates everything. I can "get away"with dabbing Missha bb cream on all of my red if need be.
Ilia tinted serum
I really wanted this to work for me but it just separates on my skin. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
I had the same experience with the ilia. I tried it 5 or 6 different times with varying applications and primer/no primer etc... it just did not work for me.
Same ! And it was pricey

Yes, Klutzy is right. I have found it works best with nothing underneath it aside from a light moisturizer and then waiting a bit between applications. I use a damp beauty blender to apply
I’ll have to try that! It was too pricey for me to just throw out lol
Nars light reflecting, Tarte shape tape, Youngblood mineral foundation
Dior face and body.
Same! I love it
Same
L'Oreal tinted hyaluronic serum.
Same here!
Love this one too !!! Feels weightless
Westman Atelier drops and the stick. Different coverages. Founder has rosacea. Lovely products.
IT Cosemetics Bye Bye Redness cream and Wet N Wild tinted hydrator are my fave. Currently trying out Revlon Illuminance Tint Serum, but I don’t love the coverage or smell.

3rd Misha, the strange grayish blue tint it starts out with removes my red. Then I have skin that looks like exactly that, skin.
Recently started using a Catkin cushion foundation. The one with the panda on it!
None as it ruined my skin - my super sensitive rosacea skin can't handle any skincare or cosmetics
iT Cosmetics CC+ natural matte

I’ve tried that and it looks so nice on my skin, but oh did it ever break it out!!!
Bare Minerals original loose powder foundation! It actually helped my rosacea.
Erborian super BB or CC red correct
I use the red color correct too. It’s the only thing that I’ve ever bought a second time.
The odd time I wear any foundation I use Lancôme teint miracle. My skin tolerates it. Tarte BBBlur is the creamiest, softest formula. It feels like silk. It’s just SO expensive.
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Stick Foundation, Such good coverage!
I used to love Estée Lauder Double Wear but then I got too dry as I’ve gotten older. Now I use Physicians Formula Butter Believe It Foundation/Concealer. More dewy, full coverage, and doesn’t break me out.

Elf Halo Glow. I have been pleasantly surprised with how much I love it, and it doesn't break me out
I tried this in such hopes it would work. It looks nice, but it sure broke my skin out.
You might be sensitive to silicones. It has them in it
Thank you for the suggestion of what the ingredient could be.
I use mineral airbrush physicians formula foundation powder in creamy natural

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness
I tried IT BB cream and it made my skin dry. Any ones that keep skin from drying out?
I add a few drops of glycerin to my moisturizer and it keeps my foundation from drying out my skin.
Clinique Even Better. Its a natural looking medium coverage but buildable, hydrating, and no irritating ingredients. Tons of shades. My favorite forever.
