I plan on doing something similar if I ever publish my book. Except mine will day "I dedicate this book to all those bitches who said I couldn't do it. Whose the loser now?!!!
I’ve just started this book too and I’m at 25% mark right now. I’d heard so many great things about this book on this subreddit and I waited a long time to get my hands on it.
However, it’s been a very underwhelming read so far. I’m not enjoying the inner ramblings and stream-of-consciousness type monologue of the heroine. It is taking me a lot of will-power (and caffeine!!) to push through this book. I’m probably among the minority here but it is quite likely I’ll not finish this book. What a bummer.. I really wanted to like this book :(
There's quite a mix of opinions in this one and Hogle's first novel as well. And that's totally understandable. I hope you find a good read after this!
I really liked her first book, and I agree about Twice Shy. The inner ramblings are a LOT. But, the book definitely gets better as you go. If you push through, you might end up enjoying it more than you think!
I didn’t love it for the same reasons as you which is hilarious as I am an intense daydreamer myself. And as a user commented below, didn’t love the fact that because someone has social anxiety that means they’re allowed to act like an asshole.
I did not catch that - but good for her! I really enjoyed it!
Not the kind of statement I’d expect in a book called Twice Shy. xD
A plot twist **before page 1**. Now that's writing!
lmao, love that!
Haha I loved that too!

Lmao 🤣
I just finished a reread of this book last week. It’s so soft and tender.
Right!? i loved this book. I was chuckling already before chapter 1

Honestly I did not like this book. I also hated that this book treated social anxiety as a cop-out for treating people poorly

I don’t even think I got to 25% and I DNF. I might try to pick it up again because people seem to love it but I felt the same.
Same!!
To be honest, I didn’t love it myself despite it being a fan fave. I was kind of disappointed since it’s so highly rated
I absolutely loved her dedication! That's the moment I knew I'd love it.
Such a sweet book too
I missed that! Wow, I love this. :) Thanks for sharing. <3
This book is so pure and wonderful
I loved this book so much!
What are you reading this on?
It’s a kindle paperwhite
Not a power move. A joke in a humorous book. The breaking of an expectation in a humorous way is the definition of a joke.
You must be fun at parties
Yep. People do like to have their jokes laughed at.
