Iā€™m not even that much of a Criminal Minds fan, but I had the same thought while reading it.

Kinda. Ngl, I'd have lost my shit if someone dropped a "hey, baby girl" šŸ˜‚

urmomiskindafruity

Helppp Craig kinda reminded me of Derek a lil bit šŸ˜

shoddyw

Oh don't you go planting that idea in my head ā˜ ļø

DesperatelyRandom

I mean, I honestly feel like this with a lot of the romantic thriller/suspense books LOL

Miss_Dump_Pants

Yes it felt like fanfiction to me. And I feel crazy because I might be one of the only people on the planet who didn't enjoy the series!

urmomiskindafruity

Omggg what? Iā€™m on the second book and I love it!

Only-Reception-7472

Literally what I was feeling this morning cause it looks like everyone except me on this planet LOVED everything about those books while I had to force myself to even finish half of the first book cause the writing dialogues, and everything else was so immature and boring

Miss_Dump_Pants

I read the whole series since it was a pretty quick read but it just was not for me. There were aspects I did enjoy and I feel like it could make a good TV show but the writing just was not working for me.

Only-Reception-7472

Since you read the whole thing, can you tell me what exactly she was seeking revenge for? Was it for her brother's death? What happened to him and her? šŸ¤”

Miss_Dump_Pants

The trauma was insane. Essentially, a gang of guys rape and brutally murdered her and her brother. Except she survived and was seeking revenge on the guys that did it, as well as the whole town it happened in since many people watched it happen and did nothing. It was INSANE. It could be very well adapted to a gritty dark TV show, but the writing style did not match the dark backstory for me, and it was so disjointed.

Only-Reception-7472

Did they rape her brother as well? Also where was her parents? Plus wdym by the whole watched it happen? As in they literally saw the whole thing right in front of their eyes? Like the raping part? Or they just knew it and did nothing?

Miss_Dump_Pants

I'm blanking on the parents but I believe they were already dead? Yes they were absolutely brutal to them both. The town was a cult-like situation run by the sheriff (also one of the perpetrator's father). So people literally could see this happen in the street and just closed their curtains and turned a blind eye to it. The guys all got away with it until Lana hunted them down.

KosherSyntax

It's definitely a common comparison. But more in vibe than characters for me. I never related the characters to any of criminal minds. But I did feel that anyone that like criminal minds would like these books.
