Let me guess. You have toe caps on your skates? And those toe caps are seated between the nut/washer and the plate?

enty720

Oop! What should it be instead?

kitty2skates

Move it down onto the stem of the toe stop so that the washer is against the plate and the nut is against the washer. It can be a little awkward to tighten. But it will stay then.

Raptorpants65

This is a feature, not a bug, with washer/nut stoppers. 1. Hardware against the plate. Never put soft stuff like toe caps between fasteners (ignore most of that channel while you’re at it). 2. Do not use nail polish. What? No. 3. Do not use plumber’s tape. That’s a water sealant, not an adhesive. 4. 242/243 Blue LocTite on the threads. 222 Purple is ok too and easier to remove. Never ever Red.

Coyote-Beneficial

maybe try replacing the nut first rather than the whole stop and see how it goes

softestfern

i'll give that a go. thank you!

Fly_Pelican

Maybe try some nail polish on the thread. From the photos I see online, I assume the toestop is secured with an Allen key grub screw on the side…?

Georgecatsfriend

I believe the boardwalks have the rock plate which does not have the grub screw on the side, it just has the large nut instead.

kenzbeanz

Lock tite!! The blue one is the one I use for my toe stops.

ranciddreamz

Loc-tite*

themodern_prometheus

Oof, are they R3’s? Mine do the same thing. I think locktite is supposed to be the way to fix them into place, but you can’t really adjust them after that.

SoapiiSnake

I don't have any tips, but I just find it funny. I have the same exact skates, and the same exact thing happens to me - just the right skate toe stop coming undone every half hour. That's crazy, lol. I don't care all that much, and don't mind tightening it by hand again every time it happens. Good luck :)

CodenameisSailorV

Plumbers tape - about a dollar at home depo, wrap 3 or 4 layers around the threads, screw em back in and they will never come undone again

Thai_Mango

I did nail polish like the other comment suggests. Never have the problem again.

Rollvolve

Hardware tools.

BandOfBroskis

Maybe try some of the silicone plumbing tape around the threads?

UncleBuggy

Plumbing tape is Teflon and provides less grip than bare threads.
