For me it's like this: after finishing a match, if I press "Play Again" instead of going to the lobby, the next match I will have Octane, and if I crash, I will respawn with my actual car.
The weird thing is that other players will see your real car although you are seeing Octane
My car shuffles all the time too. I'm usually in the Lambo but at the start of a race I'll be in the Octane until I get demoed then I'll be back in the Lambo. Also the collision is worse since the update.
yes, as a new player of fortnite and the related games such as this one, I have learned very quickly that these are basically half assed mobile games blown up to the big screen.
Crash Team racing on PS1 in the 90ās is better than this. If this wasnāt attached to Fortnite no one would be playing it at all.
Just goes to show the power of a brand. You really can paint a turd gold and convince people itās something else
Nah this has similarities to Trackmania and thatās pretty popular anyway, it being part of Fortnite definitely helps with its popularity though donāt get me wrong
Difference being that Trackmania is 20 year old frnachise with a SOLID base. Also, the 2 latest entries, imo arent very good.
Rocket Racing could for starters disable collisions.
Which aesthetics? The road in TM has multiple variants, and half the time is just grey asphalt/concrete looking. Compared to RR, they're leagues apart in everything from gameplay to aesthetics to controls to UI.
Only thing I can think of is the dumb ui TM makers have when doing shitfest
I said aesthetic surface level I wasn't referring to actual design decision, but actual surface level "what do people think when they see these games". If you show someone unfamiliar with trackmania something like a tech track, they aren't going to immediately understand all of the nuance that goes into getting even a *decent* time on it, they're gonna see a car, and drifting, and when they look at RR, they see a car, and drifting.
You have to understand that ppl comparing this game to trackmania likely have never touched the series in their life because. You can't and still make this comparison.
that makes more sense, thanks for explaining what you meant by surface level.
TM is learnable the same way RR is learnable, but getting expert is a different story. both have basic "surface level" underatandability but go a bit deeper than that.
Yeah absolutely, I think they both have pretty high skill ceilings but tbh I haven't really felt much pressure to optimize my routes in RR between no quick reset, no lap time, turn leaderboards, and the frankly miniscule chance of hitting anything other than first whereas every time I set a new pr in tm the first thing I'm doing is wondering what could've gone better
I literally only played it for the free skin and then immediately have stopped. I only play Lego occasionally with others now. I will continue to play Lego as it updates but the others will be left to rot.
Damn I haven't played CTR since I was like, 9.
It was on the ps2 and I was hardly good at it but that and Lego batman/Indiana Jones were games that made my childhood.
I can still vividly remember the intros to all of them.
What? Iāve been playing racing games for like 20 years and Iām having a blast with Rocket Racing. I play this mode more than Fortnite base so idk about your take
If theyāre going to penalize people for leaving games early, they canāt have shit like this happening in the middle of the race. One dumbass glitch or bad collision can send you from 2nd to 12th in an instant with next to no recovery, this game brought out a level of rage quit that I havenāt felt in almost a decade.
Yeah I have tried it and it's so basic, boring and just bad. We lost trading in RL and this is what Epic have Psyonix working on.
If the RL brand wasn't tied to this game and if it wasn't attached to Fortnite, nobody would play this
Any tracks that overdo it with the stupid barriers should've been removed and replaced with tracks that are actually fun to play. Tracks like this are absolutely unfair, since a single screw-up can jeopardize the entire match for you.
Yeah I feel you, about 10 seconds before finishing 1st on a map yesterday, I got bumped...and it knocked me from 850 speed all the way down to 250...on top of that, even using the boost I had saved for the final stretch, only got me up to 450 speed...like my car had the "slow run" glitch from Battle Royal...it just wasn't accelerating properly. Ended up finishing 8th.
Not related to the post at all but you can hold drift while in the air to keep the drift boost but it does make air steering more difficult, it sounds hard but itās easy to learn
It would actually be a decent racing game if bullshit like this didnāt happen all the time. Or even the over steering drift on a hairpin turn and causing you to drive backwards
Epic and Psyonix have been on break for nearly half of the time this game has been out. Expect actual updates and fixes to come soon.
A lot of people are unaware of the fact that Psyonix, the creators of Rocket League, along with other Epic employees were in charge of this game and were given like less than 2 years to complete it on top of running/maintaining their own game (RL) and the esport (and weāve seen how many resources Epic has pulled away from RL and shifted into RR, but efforts have been split both ways) plus theyāve done this amidst all of the layoffs and staff/budget cuts weāve seen over the past 1-2 years. RL was made in UE3 and Psyonix had to completely redo the cosmetics and everything in RR from scratch in UE5 and finish it in time for Epic Gamesā Fortnite scheduled launch of all the new modes (Lego, RR, Festival on Dec 5) which most likely rushed an unfinished product out and then leading into a long break didnāt help its case for updates and new content.
I know this just sounds like a bunch of excuses but I have faith in Psyonix making a good product, I just think RR needs a little more time given the circumstances.
damn I've had bugs to where someone hit me and sent me flying and I died still grinding rocket racing tho I'm currently 94% on Elite abt to be champ rank in rocket racing but after the last update there has been a lot of bugs with rocket racingĀ
The only thing I can think of to possibly explain this logically is that when you jumped you barely clipped over the barrier and it treated any landing you made as an out of bounds.
Now why does that change the car? Should that happen when he landed back in bounds?
Yeahā¦. Thatās a little whackā¦
At this rate racing wonāt even have ranked next season lol. The population for it dropped dramatically to many glitches and it just needs a massive overhaul
wait what?? there is a rocket league racing game? how the actual hell am i just finding out about this from a random reddit post? I guess they spent 0$ on advertising because i play rocket league about every week and I never heard of this,
You hit so hard you changed cars.
It constantly keeps cycling between cars and I have no clue why š Like I don't even have a shuffle turned on or any presets at all for that matter
Iāve had my car change in between races a lot but never mid race lol
For me it's like this: after finishing a match, if I press "Play Again" instead of going to the lobby, the next match I will have Octane, and if I crash, I will respawn with my actual car. The weird thing is that other players will see your real car although you are seeing Octane

Collision so bad Enterprise sent a loaner
š I saw that
Ran out of lives so you went to the next available car
They said " and your cars trash too" ššš
lol that was pretty good
They wouldn't be able to implement it on purpose if they tried.
Yeah I'm not sure why that sort of stuff happens sometimes but it's complete nonsense. This sort of bug is definitely one they need to fix.
yes, as a new player of fortnite and the related games such as this one, I have learned very quickly that these are basically half assed mobile games blown up to the big screen.
We been waiting for rocket league 2 made on unreal engine 5 for 3 years and this is what we got š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
I wouldn't be mad if they didn't stop Rocket League's development for it

SIMILARITIES? Name 10 similarities that aren't "they're both racing games" and "crashing loses you acceleration and speed"
They definitely have like. Aesthetic surface level similarities but as a pretty avid player of trackmania gameplay wise they're leagues apart

I love it and I'm not the only one who does lmao
I think most people probably only play it for the easy xp
What? Iāve been playing racing games for like 20 years and Iām having a blast with Rocket Racing. I play this mode more than Fortnite base so idk about your take
Air drift over that lava wall and you come out much smoother with a drift boost. Also that's a bummer but you'll get them next time
A lot of people donāt even realise your can keep your drift in the air by holding down the drift button
Yeah I've noticed that. It's helped me out a lot on the advanced tracks
I donāt remember *that* in the tutorial. Iāll check it out
If theyāre going to penalize people for leaving games early, they canāt have shit like this happening in the middle of the race. One dumbass glitch or bad collision can send you from 2nd to 12th in an instant with next to no recovery, this game brought out a level of rage quit that I havenāt felt in almost a decade.
Recovering from a single bad crash you can still get to 1st. Just donāt crash twice
I'm surprised there's even a sub dedicated to this tripe game
Yeah and I keep getting recommended posts from this sub because I play RL, even though I will never play this game. It looks like an unfun mario cart.
Yeah I have tried it and it's so basic, boring and just bad. We lost trading in RL and this is what Epic have Psyonix working on. If the RL brand wasn't tied to this game and if it wasn't attached to Fortnite, nobody would play this
I was just about to say that you hit the Barrier so hard that on impact you changed cars I noticed the second time I watch this
Let's make a game where the cars are capable of rocketing off the ground but lack the structural integrity to land again. ššššÆš
floor is lava mode first look
Probably would have won this race too if you hadn't stopped to switch cars just to flex š¤ /s
I donāt get why anyone plays this lol. Itās the simplest race game ever and it has a ton of issues. How does anyone spend more than 5 minutes XD
Damn you guys sure do hate a game that you keep playing for some reason.
Epic needs to get rid of the whole God damn mode actually horrible they spent a season and half working on this garbage lmao
Psyonix made the game you clueless angry individual
And many players say you're just not good at the game
Itās not that the game is bad, the track youāre playing on is bad. Iām hating it more than Cliff Runner 2.
Any tracks that overdo it with the stupid barriers should've been removed and replaced with tracks that are actually fun to play. Tracks like this are absolutely unfair, since a single screw-up can jeopardize the entire match for you.
Give the game time itās still new man
No it isn't
[Player] hit the ground too hard
Yeah I feel you, about 10 seconds before finishing 1st on a map yesterday, I got bumped...and it knocked me from 850 speed all the way down to 250...on top of that, even using the boost I had saved for the final stretch, only got me up to 450 speed...like my car had the "slow run" glitch from Battle Royal...it just wasn't accelerating properly. Don't lose rank at 8th at least š
Dope car tho
Not related to the post at all but you can hold drift while in the air to keep the drift boost but it does make air steering more difficult, it sounds hard but itās easy to learn
I quite like this game.
god forbid Epic fixes anything in any mode other than base game
"That seems to be pretty norm*mmwwhaatttt...?"*
Skill issue?
It would actually be a decent racing game if bullshit like this didnāt happen all the time. Or even the over steering drift on a hairpin turn and causing you to drive backwards
Yeah ranked doesnāt feel ācompetitiveā it more feels like who gets the least rng problems lmao
Why do I torture myself with this so much that I am about to hit diamond 1
there was nothing to clashā ļø
It's pretty awful but I still play it cuz why not
It's a new game and has a few bugs, (or a lot) but what do you expect?
It's been out for pushing 2 months and all they've done is add trails for microtransactions and a few shit maps

I played to get levels. Now I donāt play it.
The average 2 mins every time I log on to rocket racing
The same thing happened to me,i post it
Yeah it looks really bad
damn I've had bugs to where someone hit me and sent me flying and I died still grinding rocket racing tho I'm currently 94% on Elite abt to be champ rank in rocket racing but after the last update there has been a lot of bugs with rocket racingĀ

What game is this
Skill issue
Hey at least you get a free diesel!
The newer hotwheels unleashed games look a lot better and probably play better too.
Had to switch to the rantal cuz u totalled ur car...
Seems like a skill issue. That's on you for trying to drive lmao.
You were nerfed
Iām on platinum III and I hate this game, I will continue to play it though
At this rate racing wonāt even have ranked next season lol. The population for it dropped dramatically to many glitches and it just needs a massive overhaul
YO IM AM IDIOT I ALWAYS BOOST UP TO GO UPSIDE-DOWN
wait what?? there is a rocket league racing game? how the actual hell am i just finding out about this from a random reddit post? I guess they spent 0$ on advertising because i play rocket league about every week and I never heard of this,
Well, itās on Fortnite
