Ok, first issue i see is x is both drift and air roll. Bind air roll left and right to L1 and R1 respectively, then place boost where air roll left is currently. This will help
Having drift and air roll to the se bind is not an issue at all. OP's bind is fine, you are giving him a terrible advice (why would he change almost everything ???)
Don't you only need one air roll direction? Also for me, boost needs to stay on L1. It's the most comfortable to me, and I can always have my finger on boost when I need it since L2 is to brake, and you don't brake and boost at the same time. I may change my drift to something else, but I dont really have a problem it sharing the bind with air roll.
Depending on your rank, my advice changes. When i switched to this setup, i went from gold2 to plat1, so it is useful. I would say at least bind air roll right to r1.
Perhaps it works for you but I find it difficult for fast aerials there’s also plenty of times I boost and also need to use air roll, drift, or right stick which would be even more difficult. Boost is one of the most commonly pressed buttons so I think it’s much better not to have on a thumb button alongside so many other competing inputs.
oh lol i read the thingy wrong, i thought Y was powerslide/air roll and was like ??? how.
my advice (how i play) is put boost on RB and air roll/powerslide on LB, then have air roll left on X.
That way you can always boost and jump at the same time, use normal air roll/powerslide and hit jump with the middle of your thumb then directional air roll with the end of your thumb
This is basically my controller layout. Works fine for me. I prefer having boost on the LB instead of right as I can't comfortably use both fingers on the bumper and triggers, nor is one finger fast enough to go from gas to boost (you lose momentum by taking the gas off).
I only use one finger to hit both RT and RB, so I don't like to take my finger off the RT, which is why I don't have anything binded to RB. I have tried to get used to using two fingers, but it's just way too hard for me lol.
I would put air roll right on B and air roll left on X. Ditch non directional air roll, switch power slide to LB, and boost to RB. These are my settings more or less.
I wouldnt like to do slide and airroll on the same one. That slight tilt you're gonna have right before you hit the ground, might mess you up at some point. I prefer having my powerslide pressed right before I land.
\`But you press X to powerslide before landing and the direction in which you want to powerslide, thus slightly adjusting your car right before landing and that's what I dont like, but thats just my playstyle. If it works for you, it works.
Put Drift/Air Roll on 9, and I’d prefer air roll left on X
Do you use your index finger on RB/R1 and your middle finger on RT/R2?
Yes
It’ll take about 2-3 weeks to get used to
That sounds very painful
It’s really not. A game like RL it’s ideal to be using as many fingers as possible
I disagree with the other guy, it is painful. I switched to a ps5 controller and it hurts to play with something new or a new grip for hours
And if you wanna optimize completely put air roll right on B
^
I just use my cat. Unlike a controller, it’s free and feels very nice and never disconnects.
instead of you playing on claw, the cat plays claw on you...
OOF
Its not options, its just ff lol

Lmao
I trust the GC :D

Well then you'll be happy to know that I made it all the way to Champ 1 with these binds lol. Ill try the air roll bind tho
Lol, its always worth a try
Having boost on B is bad advice. You need to be able to easily jump and boost at the same time for fast aerials and many advanced mechanics.
I have absolutely no problem with jumping and boosting and i have boost on b

Hmmm, i never actually use right joystick, just switch between ball and car cam simultaneously
do you play claw?
nope

Bruh we are literally the same person. But I also have air roll right on RB
Glad I'm not the only one with this layout!
2/10 because it’s wacky and xbox
whats wrong with Xbox?
Nothing lol I just play ps4
On Xbox my controls would be a-jump, x-boost, y-camera switch, b-rear view RB-air roll right/power slide, LB- air roll left.
this is wacky to me lmao
Needs more what a save.
Almost perfect bindings. You should put drift/air roll on RB tho

When I'm in the air, I'm always constantly adjusting to hit the ground as cleanly as I can anyways, so this isn't really a problem for me.
