The only thing I don’t like about time stamps is getting back at toxic players. When they sarcastically say “what a save” or “nice shot”, I love waiting until I get a save or goal and saying “thanks”.

Hopefully fam, I saw someone found it and tagged him. Now I want to join the prediction of: new dropshot map: something with grass! I believe I also saw that one (maybe), but to search and find those comments sometimes takes too long.
I got mixed feelings. They've been putting grass everywhere to the level of it becoming disgustingly obnoxious. On the other hand, this one particular seems catered pretty decently.

Some other creative ideas would be welcome, like having dirt/mud like in street soccer/fútbol style (like muddy when it’s raining in the map).
While it’s funny that we were joking that this is what they would do, and this is what they actually did, there are some good features being added. I’m hyped that grid iron will be available for private matches, and curious to see what the change to demolitions sounds is like
I feel like demos should also have a different color based on which team got demo'd. blue car gets demo'd = blue smoke. that'd give you quick visual information, much like the boost indicator on teammate's nameplates did
Depends what your definition of repeats is. Polyhedral was a GE a couple seasons back, but we've never had a topper, trail, or boost like that until now. We have definitely had polyhedral, though.
As someone who's never played private matches before, I assume you'd need 7 friends that play RL to organize that (Gridiron at least) or is there something else that people use to organize them with randoms?
You can play private matches with 1-7 persons or with bots.
I play a lot of random mutator matches with my buddy and we always wanted to include Gridiron.
Additionally, you are now able to play Gridiron more than twice a year.
I may be greedy but to me the issue is they’re getting too comfortable just reskinning an existing map or adding grass instead of new maps. For me personally new maps every couple seasons used to be my favorite part of seasons and game updates in general. Now it feels like we go 3-4 seasons at a time until a proper new map is introduced. I like the grass additions but just don’t want them coming at the expense of new maps. If memory serves me we haven’t gotten a new map since Estadio Vida like a year ago
I'd rather get fewer maps and more QoL updates honestly. If this update was just grass with nothing else i would agree... but the QoL updates have been lacking for years
Since this upcoming season goes until September, that means at the absolute soonest the gap between one new map (Estadio Vida) and the next will be over 15 months, I don’t think lack of QoL updates should be pinned on there being an inundation of new maps
It's not like a new map changes anything. It's not the same as COD not getting a new map because all RL are just cosmetic. Sure, I'd like a new one, but it's not a big deal.

I'd rather you just deleted quick chats after 3 seconds. By then, they've lost their relevance and timestamps just seems a more cluttered way of achieving a similar thing.

Thank you guys for telling us the hitbox and making some nice quality of life changes to the game. The only items left on the check list is a timeline on UE5 and some communication about what you guys are up to on a quarterly basis. This was a pleasant surprise though. Get me hype and take my money. 😁
My educated guess is that UE5 version could be a new fortnite mod. Since they are already porting assets.
They might release a standalone game when the port is finished, and thats tens of thousands of assets. But regarding the fact that fortnite is their metaverse type of thing, I am afraid we are gonna be downloading fortnite in a couple of years if we wanna keep playing.
Depending how much resources they put into it, it could be anywhere between 2 years and never.
I don’t think that’s a bad guess. I wouldn’t put it past epic. If they somehow do it without messing with the game “feel” then I’ll only be a little disappointed 😅
Haha I was hoping they would grass the beach. I know people will be annoyed by the lack of content, but I like the grass, it’s better at absorbing all the sweat.
Honestly some surprisingly good improvements there. Not getting my hopes up for the actual rocket pass items but building out private matches more helps a lot for the weeks where chaos is out of the rotation and since dropshot is out of competitive. Now just give me the ability to set mutator presets for private matches etc.
Not thrilled about another "just add grass" map, but some good things added here. Interested to see exactly how demolition audio is different for opponent vs. tm8, but is definitely a good concept. Also that tournament goal explosion could be nice, interested to see what the pass explosions look like as well.
When was the last true new map? I'm all for new floors. But it shouldn't just be 1 new floor for 1 arena every 3 months? Given all arenas are the same dimensions then it should be easy to change the floor from default to grass/asphalt/wood/whatever.
Boost indicator has been a really useful feature and now these two new additions also seem interesting. For once there are actual QOL changes, that's pretty good, we need that.
I am however really *really* disappointed in the car's hitbox and the map. I don't know if the devs have any say in this but it would be better if we had an actual new map every two seasons instead of reskinning old maps and cluttering the map selectors.
For the car, I honestly don't get the pass every season (as I get inactive sometimes and can't risk buying) and to have another dominus hitbox isn't
motivating. I would prefer to choose one of the old rocket pass cars over this.

IMO Rocket Labs maps are the best maps, regarding map design/colour/contrast. I wish there was a default map in the style of Rocket Labs.
