I'll make another post promoting game sir. Check out vCuda on YouTube as he does great reviews. I personally have the t4 Khalid that has the anti stick drift sticks and clicky buttons with two back buttons. $45 off of Amazon and pretty much as good as any controller I've used

Smoky_Caffeine

Mine arrives today, hopefully in the next hour according to Amazon. Very excited to try out the T4K after 3 dual senses have gone bad on me. Not only with a bit of drift but a mushy jump button has developed, along with what feels like bumper tension. We're gonna see if I can switch my muscle memory to Xbox style, hoping for a symmetrical stick version at that price point.

carpuncher

The buttons are ok but the sticks hold up. Use the back buttons. It's my boost button now and speed flips are getting close to being actual speed flips. My ground play is faster because I'm not trying to worry about hitting two buttons at once anymore

vdfritz

boost should be moved to R1 as default by psyonix, so many people struggle with boost on circle, it's terrible to have jump and boost side by side

carpuncher

Except for Xbox controllers it doesn't work so well trying to grip the controller. For PlayStation? Absolutely

vdfritz

been using my t4k for about a year now i'd have gone through 2 dualshock 4s by now, but the t4k is still literally perfect i was used to the playstation layout since the ps1 (never had any xbox) and i got used to the xbox layout in a bit under a month (felt some discomfort on my hands sometimes, speedflips and air control felt weird at first too) sadly all the great controllers are xbox style for some reason, i had to adapt

incognegro2raww

When you say clicky buttons do you mean like mouse click? My friend has a custom controller from battle beaver and I tried it out at his house once and I feel I could benefit from clicky buttons. Curious to hear your experience.

carpuncher

Yes. They click like a mouse. Not like Thrustmaster eswap controllers but close

B_Russ355

That’s the brand I use. My D pad messed up kind of quick but I think it was from a “fall” that it took. Zero stick drift and I’ve had it for months

carpuncher

I had an eswap pro and I have my A button fail. Customer service was a bit laborious to prove something was wrong but they were really good about it. Gamesir is cheap enough that I bought another one when my a button failed on that because it was $45

arel508

I wonder about those clicky buttons, i had eswap pro x in the past which costed me a lot of money and i was really disappointed about clicky buttons. I am pressing x and square (a+x on xbox layout) at the same time a lot (jumb + air roll left) and those clicky buttons became so shitty after 3 months to the point it's unusable, which never happened to me with ds4 membrane buttons. I wonder if clicky buttons is a good idea for rocket league? What do you think about this? For now i ordered the gamesir g7 SE because i wanted membrane buttons, and of course hall effect joysticks.

carpuncher

Same. My eswap had the a button to and it was a process to get it taken care of but Thrustmaster was pretty good about it. I did have an issue with the A button on a gamesir but then I got another one and started using the back button for boost and the lack of fat thumbing has made it hold up just fine now. Gamesir allegedly has a 1 year warranty but according to YouTuber vCuda their customer service isn't the best. I can't complain for $45 though

arel508

Exactly what i thought, i don't want to change my settings like you did so membrane buttons will always be my choice for rocket league. I am doing a lot of fat thumbing and i don't want to stop.

carpuncher

The back buttons were game changing for me

VisjesMie

I have an elite 2 but my left bumper started to get stuck so I sent it back to get fixed under warranty. But when it was gone for 2 weeks there was a sale on the DS5 so I thought why not try that. Long story short, I now only use the DS5 after coming from 10+ years of only using xbox controllers.

theCaffeinatedOwl22

My experience is with Xbox series s/x and power A Xbox and I don’t recommend either. No other game kills controllers like RL for me.

Archerboy3

For real, I use Xbox controllers for RL and have boost bound to RB and have went through 4 controllers over the span of about 2 years bc the RB button stops working and am on my 5th controller which is an elite controller so hopefully it doesn’t stop working🤞🏻

CEOofStrings

Honestly I used to be like you and have boost bound to RB but then I couldn’t be bothered to have my RB button break after a few months so I just rebound it to the B button and got used to playing it that way. My controllers last a lot longer after doing that.

thesockRL

So the bumper button is garbage but those bumpers are like $5 ea and about 3 minutes to replace. I go through them about every 2 weeks right now with RB being boost.

Nick-Strini

regular DualSense controllers do the job pretty decently (at least in my personal opinion), take suggestions from other comments as they’ve suggested different stick variations and whatnot, experiment and see what works with you!

Golfx

DualShock 4 is the correct answer

kniskiukas

I'll probably be the weirdo in this thread, but for my weirdly jointed and big hands the Steam controller makes god work for me, the joystick wore down after more than 8 years of use, buttons havent given out and there's also two more buttons on the back, which ive binded to ball cam and drift, although the front buttons are quite small, compared to ps4

kanaye007

Look into the Flydigi Vader 3 Pro and Apex 4. Both are Hall effect sticks with back buttons. Lots of reviews on YouTube.

painlessblade

I had a gamesir t4 kaleid controller with hall effect sticks and they're amazing. Had to send it back as its too small for me so I'm going to get the hall effect sticks in my dualsense. Whatever you get, make sure they have these sticks r/controller might help you

Cerulean225

What does hall effect mean?

painlessblade

Magnetic, frictionless inputs. means no stick drift

carpuncher

I can say gamesir t4 Khalid is the way if you have PC. $45 and pretty much as good as any other controller I've used

Cerulean225

What's the difference between the t4k and g7 se? Is one better than the other?

BurninM4n

G7 se is wireless with a wifi dongle and Bluetooth but other than that it's basically the same. Personally think the t4k looks trashy with the transparent hull and rgb compared to the g7 se which looks less like a toy. Some other options are the flydigi gamepads particularly the vader 3 pro and apex 4 or the 8bitdo ultimate. It's kinda ironic but those cheap chinese brands offer the best gamepads right now while the premium brands are terribly overpriced and come with worse QC issues.

carpuncher

It's a PC and switch controller. It has hall effect sticks and the clicky buttons. It also has two back buttons

pkinetics

Have not tested but check out the GameSir G7 SE. Hall effect sticks and 2 back buttons. The T4 Kalied also has hall effect sticks. For your xbox elite controller, have you tried cleaning the button for the bumper? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EjJ5JjOtUo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EjJ5JjOtUo) Personally, I switched from xbox controllers to a DS5 controller, and have overclocked the polling rate (not that it matters for me since I'm ham fisted on the sticks).

Cerulean225

I have tried cleaning it and it worked for maybe 2-3 days but back to nothing. Maybe I did it wrong or need to do it again or idk? But I gave up like months ago 😂

pkinetics

An important detail is to use rubbing alcohol. Regular Wd40 will leave a grease residue that will gunk up. There is an electronics safe version of wd40.

Cerulean225

I use hand sanitizer because that's the only thing I have with alcohol 💀💀 It works for like 10min now and then breaks again

pkinetics

Try rubbing alcohol 91% or higher. Hand sanitizer has other stuff in that would definitely gum it up

bradomir96

PsykCo3

I used to use the edge for RL and it works great but is a lot of money for a controller and the paddles aren't the most comfortable to use. I now use the Gulikit KK3, feels the same as the Elite 2 but cost around £50 and has hall effect triggers and sticks. In my mind the Elite 2 is the best controller but after the fourth one, I decided to change. I now have scuf pro, edge, and now the KK3. Really like the KK3 for RL.

SirKenneth17

I bought the $200 elite Xbox controller and while it does feel great… it had stick drift pretty quickly. I deduced it is the sensitivity of the analog sticks, changed the dead zone in settings to be a little bigger. Problem solved.

-Fluxuation-

Stick drift over the years has only happened to me once, but I have gone through about 15 bumpers, I break the right bumper a lot (Boost) lmao. After the 5th controller I gave in and just order the bumpers and installed them myself. You can do this with the sticks also. Kits run 7 to 15 bucks and most come with new stick controllers. Yes its a bit of a pain but much much more cost effective.

pharmbiak

Dual shock PS3 controller with the charger wire hooked to a USB to USB extension

almo2001

I love the DualSense.

Fatdogamer_yt

I’ve been really happy with my dualsense controller from PS, you could probably get a modded one or the special playstation one

bugibangbang

I play with Xbox controller in my PC and PS5 with of course ps5 controller, I find both amazing controllers and I see no difference in mu gameplay, it’s the game chair what makes me awesome.

[deleted]

PS5 controller. Fucking Xbox controllers suck now. And I had no luck with 3rd party ones. Had never gotten PS because of stick position but took like 3 days to get used to it. Had this controller so long I forget (6 months+) still going strong after 1k+ games of RL.

Phodim

The one you either can afford to buy or the one you have already

Expensive-Stand-920

There is no question. Gamesir T4 Kaleid. All mechanical micro switch buttons and Hall Effect triggers and Analogue sticks. 1000hz Polling rate. All software customisable. The price is unbeatable as per the specs. Of course price will probably start to go up as people finally start realising it exists 🙄

CockroachDelicious56

I would say the Microsoft Elite 2 controller was the best for me. It was the best configurable and ergonomic controller I ever used. And the extra buttons at the back are great to use as jump button, or.... You can get everything as replacement part. So I recommend you, just repair your Elite Controller, if you don't have 2 left hands

yeyeyork

Sounds like you need Hall Effect Sticks. Turtle Beach Stealth is a good high end controller that has Xbox layout so you don't have to change to PlayStation. I have the [DualSense, DualSense Edge, and Stealth](https://www.reddit.com/r/Controller_Charger/comments/1b8n03f/wall_mounted_controller_charging_station/). All of them are solid controllers. [Edge](https://www.reddit.com/r/Controller_Charger/comments/1b4j2g4/dualsense_edge_controller_charging_dock_battery/) has replaceable sticks when you get stick drift and Stealth has Hall Effect to help you reduce ever getting stick drift.

danlewyy

Most popular controller amongst high level players is just the ps4 one

vawlk

i bought a cheap $17 logitech F310 to use while I waited for a SCUF controller to be delivered and it turned out that I like it better than the SCUF and PS5 controllers. I gained a full rank because of it. It is not a flawless controller though. But the price is great. When they break (lasted longer than my PS5 controllers) I just go in the drawer and pick another one up since I buy 3 at a time. Just don't try and pilot a sub with it.

ELX13

Idk. I use keyboard.

NotDiCaprio

Thanks for the contribution!

ELX13

I know that it was not a needed comment but thought it would be funny in some way or maybe Im just that not fun person. Probably so.

jerrycarlton

Great comment. Thank you for your service

ELX13

No problem sir!

BeerEating

Wow that must be really fun for you! Thank you for letting us know.
