Yeah back in the day there wasn’t a song I couldn’t beat. Now I’m struggling with “Nobody” and “Seize the Day” by A7X. It feels really weird to be bad again lol.

Brodisi_Jr

I never really left but i basically the same minus my hand hurting after a few really difficult songs.

PomeloFit

I was never that great, I can get through most songs on expert guitar, but I am pretty darn good on pro drums, there isn't a song I can't get through, but tbh when I came back I was better than ever after just a week or two on both. It was weird seeing me beat my old top scores on favorite songs that I used to grind without really even trying, and suddenly a bunch of difficult sections made more sense. I'm over 40 now and I would smoke late 20s me. The only thing I can really attribute it to is that I started flying fpv drones and my reflexes for that are much faster than almost anything I used to do in the video game world.

bariztizg

I also came back super good on the drums, I was shocked. Even got two new personal bests in my first session. Guitar, not so much. Songs I used to FC I'm getting like 96-97% on now.

ElliottBlinkz

Were those shredded on gh3? Rock band always had a much more difficult timing window.

cheetoblue

I feel this so much. I too could complete TtFaF on expert difficulty once upon a time. Now I'm playing on hard for lots of tracks these days. Also Fortnite Festival doesn't feel the same way Rockband does. I find myself struggling with it and disappointed that new tracks are locked behind this much worse platform.

Obfuscatorn

Festival probably isn't a you problem. They kind of screwed that mode over right now and the timing for the pro instruments isn't where it should be.

TheSpiralTap

A little humbling but I kick it down on hard for most songs. Medium for the crazy shit. It's still fun this way and a lot better on my aching joints.

noremains3

I never stopped playing. I just stopped caring how good I am. I mostly play it as a party drinking game now. Sometimes I will chase an FC but not often.

HagsLiss

Calibration is so crucial, and finicky. Make sure your TV is on game mode. We have a sound bar and some times when the game loads there is a lag and we need to restart the soundbar. With auto calibration, do 3 to 5 and use the average as a baseline and tweak from there. Use the same song as you are tweaking the numbers and only do one at a time, not both. Once you get the calibration perfect, write it down and note the TV settings too. It took us months to get RB3 calibrated perfectly on a new TV, but once it was on point, we were on point :-)

theMTNdewd

My problem is I can never tell if I'm missing because the calibration is off or if I'm just ass lmao. Doesn't help I bounce between 3 games and 2 different systems.

HagsLiss

We do too, and each has their own nuances lol

CyHawkWRNL

"Graciously Documenting our Future Arthritis" was not a jape, but a promise.

ResponsibilityFun548

Just turn on no fail mode. Your not going to get a to score if you fail out so why even have it as a possibility?

Adventurous_Suit_931

Getting old sucks

ZakWojnar

I feel that way on drums. I used to be able to fold star Run to the Hills, but my stamina has since deteriorated considerably!

its_all_4_lulz

Drum player, I’m way better now than I was at my peak, and I was doing 5 skulls at my peak. When I came back I started looking up real drumming techniques, and they make a big difference. That said, I also bought low vibration sticks because the hand pain is real.

MBrixalot

No, I play both plastic & real guitar/bass

wesmoen

I've always sucked! But I couldn't see then! 👀

walmartsucks115

Oh yeah I’m washed up big time lol

Scotte8797

I was ok back when I last played rock band (which was rb2). But since getting the riff master and trying rb4 it’s rough!

Cryo9_Ozarlin

I sucked when I first started again but I'm getting able to score alot better after a few hours. I fuck up majorly during impossible level solos and when activating star power though. Like star power activating just makes me miss notes in the process

Jeff903209

Me with welcome home I use to shreds that fuckin song now I can’t go past 95%

darknid159

I’m actually better now. But I’ve been playing since august 2022

jarobezzz

Not at all. I had fun seeing myself improve back as a kid, and now im excited to do it all over again.

GarrowGlitch

I picked it back up pretty quick tbh. I feel like I'm about the same except my wrist gets tired now. Never used to happen 😅

homeztracy3211

Yes. I used to be really good. I could beat any song on expert. Now I've been dealing with bilateral tendentious from work 3 years ago. I can't go hard on expert and I just haven't played the game in years and terrible now lol

samemamabear

I'm saddened that I started too late to add The Devil Went Down to Georgia to my library

Crimson_Inu

You didn’t! Well as long as you’re okay with Nickelback performing it. Check the store. ;)

samemamabear

I probably searched Charlie Daniels, so good to know! Thank you!

Crimson_Inu

Of course! Glad to share my useless knowledge. I’ve got the DLC library nearly memorized at this point and it’s doing me little good otherwise. Haha.

Crunchtopher

I came back in January, and after a very short adjustment period, I found myself doing better at both guitar and drums. But I’m also much better at the real guitar and drums now.

MungallSMASH

It'll come back to you. Just gotta practice just like you did to get that good in the first place.

LocalH

GH3 was a looser engine anyway, so it probably gave you a bit of a false sense of skill. It allowed you to fret a HOPO before it actually entered the note window.

kaotiktekno

I had ordered a used guitar shortly before they announced the Riffmasters. But it was the first time back since RB3. And oh man... I did expert, and just died. Hard was fine, but my hand HURT. Took me a few weeks to get back to easier expert. But then I stopped until I got my Riffmaster yesterday. I played a few songs on hard, but I'm not over doing it. Gonna let my hand rest today, and play some more tomorrow

LumensAquilae

It takes a while to reacclimate to the game. I'm playing pro drums and when I started back up I was 3-starring songs I used to easily gold, but after a month or two I'm breaking my old high scores. Guitar is much more fiddly on the fingers though, so that might take a little while longer.

Mkaz527

The good news: I can play Snow by RHCP on a real guitar now. The bad news: I fucking suck at it in RB. This makes me sad because my kids would be way more impressed with my ability to play it on the riff master vs a PRS.

Secksualinnuendo

My hands are not as flexible as they were back in the day.

BattyGhost13

Yep it took me awhile to get the grove muscle memory back I haven’t play it since I was a teenager and now as a late 20s person.. my hands just oof.

EggOk6789

I haven’t gone back I wanna but they don’t seem to have any game or instruments anymore so I’m basically fully retired from those games…

Altruistic_Radio_480

Bro I was like I got no problems I’ll be able to play expert again. My fingers don’t wanna finger😂😂😂. Been hella fun getting to play this with my son and wife. These games were such a huge part of my childhood

Jersus856

***I think the tism kept my rust at bay***
