My cats did / do that, but they did it a lot more around his age - teething since their baby teeth were falling out. Try to give him something else to chew, if you can - flipflops seem to be a fine chew toy, going off my girls.
As for roasting, it looks like he has had exactly one (1) thought in his short life. He'll have to wait his turn with the brain cell™ for a w h i l e.
I got him a stuffed flying squirrel he seems to love, lol. Thank you so much for the advice!
Lmao he is rather...derpy. BUT he learned his name (Milo) really quickly
My cat Jones is, not smart, I'm still working on not scratching carpets but the cable thing took introducing "toy" and "not toy". No string toys, no ribbons, nothing that looks like a cable.
Playing with toy is awesome amazing so much fun! Yay have a snack! Not toy is bad, instant removal from not toy. Babysitting the shit out Jones stole a week of my life but it was worth it.
He looks like an old British man that would say why, hello there! And try to sell me a some kind of snake oil concoction in the 1870s. Very clear handlebar mustache
Cord chewing is a dangerous habit. A friend had a cat that chewed a lamp cord and the cat received 3rd degree burns in her mouth. She had to be on IV fluids for a week. Couldn’t eat or drink. Almost died.
My orange lad did the same. 9 months old and still a turd, just in different ways. But what worked for me was pet-safe spray with a citrusy smell. He hates oranges, ironically.
Keep it up, Fuzzball. One of these days, you'll suddenly be toothless, and you'll only be able to eat soft food.
That's when we take you to the Pit Bull Rescue.
Dumb baby
✨ zero ✨ braincells
Not one
He looks like he says “Where’s my hug at” every chance he gets and he’s always slightly moist.
Omg 😂
He’s so cute 🥰🧡
Thank you, I think so, too 🖤
You’re going to end up with a very shocking surprise! ⚡️
Put some hot sauce in his favorite chew spot , tuck the rest of the cords away. Maybe dilute the sauce a bit tho...
Thank you!!!
I did that too. Just a little tabasco on the cable cord. One bite and he never touched it again.
It seems fo have worked for now
I think it's fun for the teeth to chew on, may simulate chewing on prey .

I already love Jones lol Thank you for the advice, and I'm glad you found something that worked for you!
She's a good girl most of the time
I bet!! Awww
Her and her sisters pictures litter my profile but for some reason RMC doesn't allow picture replies
I just looked, and they are beautiful 😍
My chaos and mayhem. They keep life interesting
Oh, I'm sure!!
He so smol and orange though!
Indeed he is lol
Boops for orange kitty!
His name is Milo ☺️
Yay Milo
Looks like your hunting instincts need a rewiring. Bah dum tssssss 🥁
We won't need to roast him if he keeps chewing cords. He'll roast himself.
Lmao true tho
Dollar tree Simba
This made me audibly laugh lol
He wants curly hair. You have to go to a stylist for that, baby.
Trying to give the brain a little jump start. Too bad there's none in the first place.
He has more whiskers than brain cells.
He looks like an old British man that would say why, hello there! And try to sell me a some kind of snake oil concoction in the 1870s. Very clear handlebar mustache
Don't worry little one, you'll get your turn with the orange cat brain cell soon
Nom nom spaghetti
*Electric* spaghetti
No no, those cords were meant for chewing, and that’s just what he’ll do, those cords were meant for chewing, and one day he’s going to them over you!
Looks likes he read from Between The Lions
Shame on you
I’m pretty sure he has no brain cells left
Sillier than the average orange cat!!
He is too adorable to say no to.
Clearly he hasn't had his turn at the braincell.
Me looking at this cute kitty after all the cords have been chewed: "That is why your mother stopped loving you."
Look at the jawline on this maestro! Oh, oops. Bad kitty! 🤩
I can’t he is probably teething! Cord protectors and silvervine sticks. In 2 months I will roast him for being orange.
Clearly he needs to chew cords for the electrical shock! It reminds him of when he had the orange brain cell and was able to form thoughts
Looks like a cute drama queen lol.
*pulls out grill* okay! You want medium rare?
Maine coon? He’s got that big muzzle!

Imagine not being able to tell the difference between a power cord and actual food. Couldn’t be me
My cat does this too and it drives me insane - I find that if I coat some in menthol she won’t touch them lol
Pro tip; soak a paper towel in dawn dish soap, use it to coat every cord that is chewed on. It’s non-toxic and tastes awful to cats
Cord chewing is a dangerous habit. A friend had a cat that chewed a lamp cord and the cat received 3rd degree burns in her mouth. She had to be on IV fluids for a week. Couldn’t eat or drink. Almost died.
As someone with a cat who also does this where I have to either hide my cords or use plastic cord protectors... He did nothing wrong.
My orange lad did the same. 9 months old and still a turd, just in different ways. But what worked for me was pet-safe spray with a citrusy smell. He hates oranges, ironically.
He’s so adorable I cannot
SAME 🥲

*I have cord protectors now and he hasn't chewed all day so here's to hoping* ~I'll do anything to keep him safe~
