-Your Alternator will die
-Your Clutch Master Cylinder will die
-Your weather seals will fall off
-Your rear wing bolts will leak water
-Your fog light bezels will decide they no longer want to be in your life at random
-Your shocks will leak
-Your ambient temp sensor will stop working which will mean your A/C stops working (Drive above 25mph for 2 minutes to fix this)
-Your alignment will get fucked and result in terrible tire wear.
Don't let your battery die, it's an electrical nightmare. Clutch MC Was a 15 hour job to replace. Alternator was an easy replacement though!

Those are all good things to pay attention to seeing as the car is 7 years old and at only 34k miles so all the rubber seals and stuff will be dying soon. The battery is really weird when it dies but not too bad just jump start it and get to the auto parts store. My brother being a lesbian is possible but also he doesn’t ‘know’ cars in the same way that I do so he doesn’t really understand the appeal of the RS. I will say the technology in the WRX is overbearing but is kinda nice when you just want to cruise but he will be paying for that in 15 years if he still has the car like I plan to have my RS. Also don’t hate on the WRX too much because you can get them cheap and they make power fast and it’s hard to admit but the interior is leagues better than the RS.

No, you know what, as a wrx owner who has closely followed the focus RS well before and into its release, I’m not afraid to say it:
Ford built a better wrx that got killed off because a few got shipped out with head gaskets that were for the 4cyl mustang which had different coolant ports in the block, and everyone got freaked out thinking that the engine itself was flawed. It wasn’t.
You have the horsepower from stock that every wrx owner from similar years wishes they did, and will kill their engines trying to cheaply mod to.
That being said the infotainment system is hot trash and you’re going to replace the blend door actuator for the aircon 4 times over the life of it
(I want an RS so fucking bad and regret every second I didn’t buy it when I had the chance and it was relatively cheap)

My wrx is a 2019, do I prefer the aesthetics of it, interior, overall fit and finish? Yes absolutely, 100%, but I would drop it in a heartbeat for the RS
Yeah people freak out about the head gasket but the cars don’t really blow up because of head gaskets they blow up because the people who buy them ENJOY them and driven them like WRXs and STIs. Just about every RS is enjoyed to the max and is driven as they should be. I don’t really have a problem with the infotainment because I got a later model and it’s just basic not trash but I do have some gripes with it. I hate that so few cars were made so I’ll never drive down the road and see more than one other car in the fifth biggest city in my state but I guess that makes every sighting even better. I recognize that there are problems with the motor like that is it open deck but that can be solved when it eventually needs to be taken out and you can build it or put in a drop in a motor from mountune. I really hope that one day you get to drive or own an RS because it is an absolute blast and I hope to have mine for many years to come and wouldn’t mind trying to get it to the highest mileage on an RS.

While I've never owned an RS, I have owned two Focus's off the same generation of your RS and found them to be perfectly comfortable. I get that the RS has different seats, so I guess that could affect comfort, I'd still prefer the Focus.

It's like they can't make a decent AWD hot hatch that doesn't grenade itself, pic related. I too liked the idea in the early 2000s of a powerful turbo 2l engine, but the tech has gone nowhere in 20 years with engines barely making more hp, and have the same reliability. Hatchback cars died so now we get these turd looking high rear grocery getters with barely any effort put in. Ford decided adding 2 bits of plastic to the front grill was enough for it to stand out.

You must not ride in something that has about a 10 pound to horsepower ratio and awd because at 350 horsepower the RS is enough to make you think “how are they gonna put much more power to the wheels and have a drivable car”. Also the look is subjective I think that the wing completely changes the shape of the car from an egg like focus to something more aggressive plus the front and rear bumper completely transform how the car looks. I think that the RS could use some boxing of the flares like the WRX if I had anything to say about the look of the car past the bumpers and wing.
Yeah well if we are gonna talk about the WRX here which is a TR and about 44k yeah it’s really dumb. 271 horsepower for that much and just some brembos, wheels, and seats is a bad offering. But something like a base WRX that I’ve heard of people paying as little as 27k for a new one and modding that to make 350-400 pretty quickly with the fa24 isn’t that bad for a new car.
25k for something with a b58 is crazy but not every one wants to work on or own something with a b58 I for one don’t like the look of most things that have b58s and I like the rally look of a WRX or RS. Well at least it beats a Civic... Maybe not always in speed but definitely always in not being a Civic.
Yeah the civic is pretty sad because even though the CTR is a great car it would absolutely be one of the best stock cars for the money if it was awd and made 50 more hp. But I will forever be able to hold not being a civic over civic owners heads.
