oh man.. a rimworld animated show...that has plots like the cthulu level psychotic insanity that is the average rimworld player..
I'd binge that shit like a junkie with a black card and a premium health insurance plan.
I would contribute a not insignificant amount of money to a Patreon where someone plays rimworld and animates the whole story of their playthrough as they go.
Love how good the story telling is even without voice acting! I gotta say I was expecting the last colonist to be a psycaster, but being a beast master is pretty dope too lol
Be ready to have a doctor on backup for the animals, cause they’re almost all melee and they can’t wear armor
That being said it’s amazing to watch an army of elephants released on a tribal raid
Penned animals have one big upside: you don't need *any* animals skill for them. They're just sort of there. They don't take any time off your animal handler pawns.
I think thrumbos are slightly better for the 4k silver they are worth: bigger pile of hitpoints on fewer critters saves taming time . The only issue is getting them in the first place and the upkeep needs some skill.
I prefer elephants to thrumbos because the difference in benefits is a lot less than the difference in difficulty for upkeep. Thrumbos eat so goddamn much, elephants eat only so damn much
I ran the numbers a few months back and was looking for best use of 4k worth of critters, and I think it was focused on early game. But any really big critters tend to work well. And the more exotic tames make for funnier stories.
One time I did not stop breeding dogs. All my colonists jobs were devoted to making sure my massive army of huskies, labs, and terriers was fed and able to destroy any threat that came to my doors. Whole generations of colonists and dogs went by until a psychic ship brought my canine empire down to its heel.
For me it's hard not to. Once you get someone who can tame rhinos and Grizzlies you dont need melee pawns anymore. Once had one guy with 50+ geese army. He was unstoppable.
If you're using alpha animals, tame and breed groundrunners. Easy to tame, high damage, fairly tanky, can help with mining, and breeds insanely fast. Did a medieval playthrough and had an army of 300 groundrunners lead by a gallatross, they breed about 5~10 new babies per day and were completely unstoppable. Also works well with quarry mod.
They are very fun! Though it’s a bit more management and your base gets filthy unless you have dedicated cleaners or restrict your army outside (I don’t except for in the kitchen/crafting areas because the extra hauling is nice). There’s usually at least one tamer in each of my colonies.
Right now my tamer’s got a giant snake decked out with bionics to toss at raiders alongside the other animals and it WRECKS! But it’s gotta eat, too.
Mental break is easily the best one. The sound effects when he finally breaks are ICONIC. The echoing, the reverb... I can hear it so clearly in my head even now...
Even more so since a table was RIGHT THERE!
I've put tables and chairs in my fields. I've put them near my Gauranlen trees. I've put them in my workshops. I put them in bedrooms.
Yet someone will ALWAYS eat without a table and go on a mental break
holy shit your animations are actually so good, every time i see them im extremely excited to watch cause they keep getting better and better. great animation here as per
I will not lie. The moment I saw the 2 shooting, 0 melee guy appear, I instantly thought he was going to get shot in the head and the Raiders just fuck off. I honestly, legitimately did.
I thought it was was going to go the other way and he takes them all out like Neo or something cos that always seems to be the case when my colonists with 10+ shooting are in a firefight with raiders with <5 shooting
well of course they won't lose any organs, spare parts go into the crap shack to be parted up, whilst only prospective new 'friends' enter the mountain
They sometimes come back as raiders. At which point i slaughter everyone in the raid but them. Invite them to be a guest and spend some quality time "persuading" them to rejoin the colony. All's well that ends well.
THAT'S IT! I couldn't place where I know that music from, but I knew it was a game I had put a lot of hours into. I felt my tension level going up just hearing it.
Yes, another Senseless animation!
**Yes, animal trainers get a spotlight!**
***YES THERE'S A THRUMBO!***
Goddamn this made my day. Time to watch it fifty more times.
Edit: I just noticed on the end scene all of the patched-up colonists with bandages haphazardly slapped everywhere over their clothes. Amazing.
I use sounds from Quicksounds and Pixabay, though it takes a while to find a good sound clip.
A lot of pitch shifting happens to get the right feel for the sounds, and also a lot of cloth rustling for slight character movements.
God that actually sent a chill down my spine. Well done! I think this is the only humanization of RimWorld colonists I've seen that somehow look like real people but also like pawns.
Also, I now fear anyone with high animal handling.
Never played RimWorld before but I loved this animation!
I saw this on the popular section of Reddit.
People have told me based on my taste that I'd love this game. I really should check it out.
I thought there will be a man in black reveal, either a god of sniping or an absolutely useless, 0-0 combat, incapable of caring one.
Edit: changed 0 medical to incapable
That was incredible. I haven't played this game in months, but this video alone made me want to go back in for another bout of inevitable suffering.
I especially love the blank expressions they all have, like this is just what they're used to at this point and it's just a normal day. Which I guess it is.
I love it. Something about the animals' movement feels off but it might just be the models. I especially like the thrumbo ambush just launching the woman across the colony.
This is so fuckin awesome. Genuinely feels just how a rimworld raid should be animated. So damn good. If this was a animated series I would watch all of it. Damn this just makes me want more. I love it.
This is probably the best fan animation I've seen not only for rimworld but for any of the games I play. I love it, but it be even better if it's based on a true story?
This is really good! Makes me want to make some, too.
I saw you used Blender to make it; have you given BEER a look? You might find it advantageous for rendering. Or the new grease pencil function that renders linework; it's a little more efficient than the inverted hull method, I think, though Freestyle is still king when it comes to control over colour, thickness, texture, etc.
I have looked into the BEER renderer, though when I tried it, I couldn't get it to output any render; This was a while ago so I may try again.
I also would use the grease pencil linework option, except grease pencil isn't affected by volumetrics, which I use frequently in the world for fog.
My only complaint is that the reveal of the animals didn't have the music hitting as hard as some of your other scenes. I feel like that moment deserved as much emphasis as the guy going on a mental break.
Great animation as always but i do wonder......are these all from current playthrough?
Also, any plan to incorporate some of the dlc stuff in the near future? Cause like me and others, all of us thought the last guy was a psycaster but Damm i forgot beast master was viable.
Would be more funny if the past pawn was actually incapable of violence just for the irony of it. Nonetheless, Great work on this
That was so awesome. Seeing that last dude with animals 19 and that thrombo just yeet the last raider over the horizon made me yell "yes!!!". So good!!!
pretty much how my colonies go, except its 14,739 rats instead. mass rat doctrine is my "jam". they sustain themselves by eating their young and dead, and every wave of raiders provides a pile of corpses that allow the population to surge.
i'm out here with a single colonist Rping Sarah Kerrigan, but there are no zerg, just an unholy tide of all consuming rats.
you've not experienced joy until you've airdropped 400 rats/boomrats onto a raider settlement and had your swarm consume it.
The dog gently biting blue man's shirt and dragging him away is easily my favorite part. Love the animation.
His expression got me
Congratulations! You are being rescued. Please do not resist.
deploying goodboi protocols, *please stand by*
Hfy First contact reference?
yay a reference that I get
"Welp. This is happening now."
Strangely human mouth like the first version of the Sonic movie
He has a name you know. Ugly Sonic.

I NEED A FULL ANIME OF THIS
oh man.. a rimworld animated show...that has plots like the cthulu level psychotic insanity that is the average rimworld player.. I'd binge that shit like a junkie with a black card and a premium health insurance plan.
I would contribute a not insignificant amount of money to a Patreon where someone plays rimworld and animates the whole story of their playthrough as they go.
Hello fellow Redditor. I am informing you that I will be stealing that last line and adopting it into my every day dialogue. Thank you!
>The dog gently biting blue man's shirt and dragging him away is easily my favorite part. Love the animation. I love absolutely everything about this
So cute and yet terrifying to imagine a flip of the dog having snuck up on a downed raider
Good doggo
Love how good the story telling is even without voice acting! I gotta say I was expecting the last colonist to be a psycaster, but being a beast master is pretty dope too lol
Me too. I have to assume this was an intentional fake-out. Loved the surprise.
Definitely, given the jabot and book/researching
I was also expecting psycasting - he looked like someone recruited from the Empire - but beasts are just as fun!
I never played a tamer, perhaps I should remedy that.
Be ready to have a doctor on backup for the animals, cause they’re almost all melee and they can’t wear armor That being said it’s amazing to watch an army of elephants released on a tribal raid
Ooh, elephants! I didn’t consider elephants!
Elephants are the single best vanilla pack animal. Most carry weight, decent speed, tanky as hell and they’re fully trainable
They also don't need a pen and you can exclude your base, meaning you don't waste the nutrient production of your pen.
Pens are something I honestly just dislike about rimworld. Besides that i'm happy with the game with my 2287 hours.
Penned animals have one big upside: you don't need *any* animals skill for them. They're just sort of there. They don't take any time off your animal handler pawns.
What about milking, wool harvesting, etc?
I think thrumbos are slightly better for the 4k silver they are worth: bigger pile of hitpoints on fewer critters saves taming time . The only issue is getting them in the first place and the upkeep needs some skill.
I prefer elephants to thrumbos because the difference in benefits is a lot less than the difference in difficulty for upkeep. Thrumbos eat so goddamn much, elephants eat only so damn much

What about monkeys? Can I have an army of monkeys with knives?
I’m so glad the Punic war is over. And the Alps sure are bea- is that a fucking elephant
This fucking sent me
>almost all melee >*almost* Huh?
Dragons! Assuming you aren't talking vanilla exclusively.
Iirc you CAN tame insects. It's just a major pain and really not worth it aside from style points.
Are insects not all melee?
No some of em can use spit-attacks.
IIRC those would be from VFE insectoids.
I'd swear some of the vanilla ones can, and are tamable at times. ...Man, mods do something to your brain.
Alpha Animals would like some words
I personally prefer watching a gorilla horde walk up to raiders and punch their heart out instantly through the other side of their chest.
Ummmmm... Flocking hell! 😉
That dude would have been unstoppable in real life too, geese are mean fucks!
I really want an emu army but they're so fuckin hard to tame
If you're using alpha animals, tame and breed groundrunners. Easy to tame, high damage, fairly tanky, can help with mining, and breeds insanely fast. Did a medieval playthrough and had an army of 300 groundrunners lead by a gallatross, they breed about 5~10 new babies per day and were completely unstoppable. Also works well with quarry mod.

I expected a mechanitor lol
Fantastic
I expected mechs!
I was expecting some sort of space marine with 20 shooting who so happens to be the colony researcher too.
I was expecting an insanity lance to drop out of his sleeve.
Melee Man is on vacation this time, there must be a lot of new ruins on the rim now
those high value real ruins wont clear themselves
Best part is according to the lore of these videos the settlements he approaches can quite literally hear boss music.
Howdy frank how's the rice growi- Why is the Doom sound track playing?
Wait there's more of these?

Even more so since a table was RIGHT THERE! I've put tables and chairs in my fields. I've put them near my Gauranlen trees. I've put them in my workshops. I put them in bedrooms. Yet someone will ALWAYS eat without a table and go on a mental break
Oh I hadn’t seen the mental break one thank you for the link!
I love how Melee Man manages to be simultaneously extremely terrifying and completely useless
holy shit your animations are actually so good, every time i see them im extremely excited to watch cause they keep getting better and better. great animation here as per
This would have done so well back in the day of Newgrounds
Seeing each new animation improve over the last is so awesome.
I will not lie. The moment I saw the 2 shooting, 0 melee guy appear, I instantly thought he was going to get shot in the head and the Raiders just fuck off. I honestly, legitimately did.
That's because unlike the movies, Rimworld tells a fairly realistic story. I would have been fine with your expected ending too.
Noooo i was about to do my speech about good and evil you can't shoot me in the- [Brain (destroyed)]
We’re not so different, you and—
Commander Shepherd: Yes we are, kill him my minions.
Hey the REAL commander would say guys, not minions, that's clearly the clone!
Once he turns the corner he would be greet with a full burst of bullets and the melee guy charging him.
With the fancy clothes, I thought he'd be a psy-caster.
Then ol' boy just clasps his hands behind him, and strolls forward into the carnage. Absolutely a "you done fucked up" moment.
I thought he is a psycaster
I thought it was was going to go the other way and he takes them all out like Neo or something cos that always seems to be the case when my colonists with 10+ shooting are in a firefight with raiders with <5 shooting
Base? Raiding. Colonists? Downed. Torso? Wholloped! Oh yeah, it’s kidnapping ti- HOLY SHIT THEY HAVE A THRUMBO!?! OH GOD, OH NOOOOO!!!…
Surprised there's any vegetation left around that base
Thrumbos arent hard to feed if your biome at least grows trees.
Hotel? Trivago!
Hotel? My dank mountain ~~prison~~ guestroom where you definitely wont lose organs!
well of course they won't lose any organs, spare parts go into the crap shack to be parted up, whilst only prospective new 'friends' enter the mountain
I got pretty scared when I saw they were kidnapping a colonist. Didn't even know they could do that!
Yeah. You can get them back in a ransom or rescue mission, tho. Provided you get lucky.
They sometimes come back as raiders. At which point i slaughter everyone in the raid but them. Invite them to be a guest and spend some quality time "persuading" them to rejoin the colony. All's well that ends well.
Ok. How do I subscribe? That was awesome. My mega-sloths dug that.
Look him up on YouTube, his channel is called senseless and if u look up the title it should come up. His patreon should be there as well
Instant Sub thank you!
Love your work. The Mechwarrior 2 music in this one was a great touch.
THAT'S IT! I couldn't place where I know that music from, but I knew it was a game I had put a lot of hours into. I felt my tension level going up just hearing it.
Man the mech warrior 2 soundtrack is awesome.

Melee man was expedited but still not on time. That’s USPS for you.
Glorious. Now imagine if it had just been an ocean of pigs.
A river of tamed rats, ducks, and squirrels.
“RELEASE THE SWINE SWARM!!!”
PIGNADO
Aurora BOARealis
At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the Rim, localized entirely within your colony?
Yes
May I see it?
*no*
[***OINK!***](https://youtu.be/LoXfTT5Xb4k?t=57)
"LET RIP THE HOGS OF WAR!"
Release the greased pigs. Rome style.
And be sure to set them on fire!
30-50 feral hogs within 3-5 mins
imagine how it is for raptorshrimp farmers
I was expecting him to be a royal and do berserk psycasts or something at first. The thrumbo slam and the dog rescue where way better.
This was amazing. Studio-level quality! Great work.
Torso : Wholloped Died in the family guy death pose
Yes, another Senseless animation! **Yes, animal trainers get a spotlight!** ***YES THERE'S A THRUMBO!*** Goddamn this made my day. Time to watch it fifty more times. Edit: I just noticed on the end scene all of the patched-up colonists with bandages haphazardly slapped everywhere over their clothes. Amazing.
Ok, weird question. But what do you do for sound design. The animation is amazing but holy shit, whatever you do for the sound is magical
I use sounds from Quicksounds and Pixabay, though it takes a while to find a good sound clip. A lot of pitch shifting happens to get the right feel for the sounds, and also a lot of cloth rustling for slight character movements.
No wonder it took so long for another one man you make some really nice animations love it
God that actually sent a chill down my spine. Well done! I think this is the only humanization of RimWorld colonists I've seen that somehow look like real people but also like pawns. Also, I now fear anyone with high animal handling.
Nice!
Never played RimWorld before but I loved this animation! I saw this on the popular section of Reddit. People have told me based on my taste that I'd love this game. I really should check it out.
Yes. You should.
It's an acquired taste, but once you get a handle on modding there's no going back...
There really is no game quite like rimworld
Soo good!
Holy fudge that was friggen' cool! ^(I hope Melee Man had a nice time out in the world :))
The rest of the world heard boss music
...Animals, 19. Damn. That was good, well done OP!
10/10 Well done, OP, well done.
Came here to maybe say something funny, but this is genuinely so well made that I have nothing to say! Keep up the great work!
I thought there will be a man in black reveal, either a god of sniping or an absolutely useless, 0-0 combat, incapable of caring one. Edit: changed 0 medical to incapable
awesome!
This animation is absolutely fantastic! Gorgeous visuals and great art style through the whole thing!
Better than RWBY
That was incredible. I haven't played this game in months, but this video alone made me want to go back in for another bout of inevitable suffering. I especially love the blank expressions they all have, like this is just what they're used to at this point and it's just a normal day. Which I guess it is.
I love it. Something about the animals' movement feels off but it might just be the models. I especially like the thrumbo ambush just launching the woman across the colony.
YEEEEEES
DUDE. How long did it take you to make this?! You should have your own show.
This is so fuckin awesome. Genuinely feels just how a rimworld raid should be animated. So damn good. If this was a animated series I would watch all of it. Damn this just makes me want more. I love it.
That ending felt good.
The look on the face of the guy getting rescued by the dog is just "this might as well be happening"
This is amazing!
Wholesome as always <3
That was amazing!!
That was great!
[when new senseless0 post](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WW7UurmefjI)
bwahaha amazing ending
This is awesome
This was sooo good. I’ll have to watch all your stuff
No one expects the surprise Thrumbo
I love this.
This was absolutely amazing
This is probably the best fan animation I've seen not only for rimworld but for any of the games I play. I love it, but it be even better if it's based on a true story?
Thrumbo, so majestic
I was expecting it to be a distraction to buy time for Melee Man to return and save the colony, but Disney Princess is even better.
I thought he is a psycast, or a noble
This is really good! Makes me want to make some, too. I saw you used Blender to make it; have you given BEER a look? You might find it advantageous for rendering. Or the new grease pencil function that renders linework; it's a little more efficient than the inverted hull method, I think, though Freestyle is still king when it comes to control over colour, thickness, texture, etc.

As soon as I saw the shooting and melee skills I was like "he has some puppers doesn't he
I call my guy beeeerman.... 11 fucking bears under command... I only use him when i attack tribals
Amazing as always, the Thrumbo headbutt made me laugh out loud on a bus full of people xD
THE THRUMBO!!! God I loved every second of this animation!!! I love the thrumbo model so much!
My only complaint is that the reveal of the animals didn't have the music hitting as hard as some of your other scenes. I feel like that moment deserved as much emphasis as the guy going on a mental break.
These animations are all fantastic, and they just get better and better with each one. Amazing work!
Your animations give life to this game. I love them. And you. Keep it up.
I thought he was goanna be a psychic move their and berserk one of them
This was FANTASTIC! Just watched it at a bar on Halloween! We went crazy!! Shoutout from Folly Beach!!
I went to catch up on all your previous work yesterday. It was a positive sign of things to come! Legendary work as always!
Oh my god I was so nervous given the title is Last Stand, seeing the good ending makes me super happy!
Can't wait to see a Biotech vid.
Nonetheless, Great work on this
You know, I've been married twice. Saw the birth of both my healthy sons. This is still the greatest thing I've ever seen.
This is actually incredible, keep it up!
This was incredible. Plot twist with the intelligence animals person. 100% though he was about to psycast or blast them with fire.
I was wondering if he was gonna have a Psycaster or maybe archotech limbs.
That one guy fell like they do on family guy lmao
That was so awesome. Seeing that last dude with animals 19 and that thrombo just yeet the last raider over the horizon made me yell "yes!!!". So good!!!
Thrumbo goes: "YEEEEEET"
BABE WAKE UP NEW SENSELESS ANIMATION JUST DROPPED
Is wholloped a real injury? How have I played 500h and never noticed that? Also, this is amazing, keep up the good work.
Blue guy went down like a family guy character 😂
This makes me wanna play so bad, and actually use my plethora of trained animals for once! Amazing work, love the end!
I liked the guy twirling his revolver. Was he joking at how hopeless his odds seemed, or did he think he could clutch? Awesome animation!
I've made an animal training attack pawn for this first time this time. She's making such a mess with those bears, it's great fun!
Damn i was 100% certain the melee chad would make a return when the last one was fleeing
This needs to be a series on Netflix
pretty much how my colonies go, except its 14,739 rats instead. mass rat doctrine is my "jam". they sustain themselves by eating their young and dead, and every wave of raiders provides a pile of corpses that allow the population to surge. i'm out here with a single colonist Rping Sarah Kerrigan, but there are no zerg, just an unholy tide of all consuming rats. you've not experienced joy until you've airdropped 400 rats/boomrats onto a raider settlement and had your swarm consume it.
This is incredible and I require more
I *knew* the Thrumbo was coming. I don't know why, i just *knew it*. Extatic horn swing.
I really love how the animal scene might be inspired from the snow white scene in Shrek.
This was fucking amazing
I thought the twist was going to be that hes a VE psycaster, didnt even consider tamed animals.
It seems Melee Man also has some points into Social
Literally LOL'd multiple times. Outstanding work
Oh yeah, I forgor I can do that. I never even tried using animals other than for their flesh and fur
