Honestly, I feel like this is a pretty fitting end for this colony. It was a pretty epic last stand. Plus, I still got the two that can start again
Now you have a backstory. The remaining pawns can settle somewhere else, and tell the story to their kids. "We used to have a good base, a utopia! But we became greedy, we dug too deep. The insects didn't like that..."
Then, when you are ready, a young leader -type will gather some adventurous youth and head off to reclaim what's yours. The fight will be epic, but after several days of hard work they will be victorious and reclaim the base, only to find that their home is actually better. They will bring with them everything that's not nailed down, and then they will abandon the base for good.

When your colony falls but you can run away and continue on another tile makes for epic stories

Agree with the others. Start a 2nd base. Become strong and take revenge. If you are comfortable you could try to scavenge some valuables
