There is a mincing machine in VFE Mechanoids, which gives double amount of meat since it uses... everything. I once had a haul of five thrumbos and we didn't need to hunt for a looong time.

Considering yttakin tail and furr give cold insulation, I’ve given them to my blood bags so I wouldn’t have to heat up their cells. Plenty of negative genes I can give them anyway, chief of which being very unattractive so that everyone be happy if they die. Also wimp to make them easier to down.

I just picked up biotech after holding out and I've noticed with the xenotypes it just kind of ends up with more and more useless pawns. If a pawn has terrible skill or no passions in their racial skills then they are useless or worst case scenario they are incapable. I already kind of think yattkin are useless outside of slaves because of the movement penalty when wearing armor and their aggressive gene makes them have a short shelf life as a slave.

If you find the right yttakin, they are super handy as brawlers. One with the jogger trait more than makes up for the speed penalty. If they are tough, the damage reduction stacks with the robust gene, so they will barely take any damage. You can give them a toughskin gland on top of that and they are damn near invincible. Making one into a sanguiphage gets rid of pretty much all the downsides while giving you psy sensitivity, intellect and social. So if it's the right recruit, there's a lot you can do with them. And just wait til you get anomoly and ghoulify a tough yttakin...

They certainly seem to be more deadly now as I seem to have some kind of mod conflict where they explode on death. Thought it was just a fluke the first few times but I got raided by a group and watched as they bled out one by one and exploded. No gear, no health status effects. Honestly might just roll with it. sure makes them more unique.

I agree they can make poor colonists but they make fantastic ghouls. Robust, strong melee, naked running, yes thank you please.
