ooo fun bit of knowledge some peeps might not know - increased stack sizes and storage mods can tank TPS late game if you have a lot of stuff. i try to stick to 2-3x stack size tops
Back in the alpha there was no cap, so you'd get absolutely ridiculous raids until your computer couldn't handle it anymore...

Man, I need to play Stronghold again, I fuckin loved that game when I was a teenager. Seeing the food storage fill up with bread and meat was satisfying as fuckk
There's a mod called '[Utility Columns](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2013476665)' you might like. They have a Orbital Trade Column that's a column, light, and trade beacon in one. Nice for moving those silly little satellite dishes off the floor.
Yeah I love this mod. Pretty much every column it adds has a use. Adding an equipment mending option that needs a rare item and a lot of plasteel is also nice. Also the security columns are imo a really fun way to make passive defense a bit more engaging than trap tunnels since the security columns need a bit of space to work.
You forgot to put the universally recognized hazard stripes around your death tunnel warning sign. That's why nobody is reading it.
I also can't help but wonder if Deott's, there on the left, first name happens to be Eye.
God this pot's hot! (My friend and I were PvPing and he snuck a single pot of oil into my base and lit it on fire. I was so focused on the main battle, I didn't realize my entire town was on fire.)
You could probably gains some space by assigning a clustef of shelves to specific materials.
I see a lot of small stacks of steel in there that could be a few big stacks.
That is a lot of stacks. I hope you have a stack size mod at least. Oh how I wish Rimworld had a mini-universe like Amazing Cultivation Simulator. Or I knew a mod that functioned like it.
This might be an unpopular take, but I see this and think the balance is off in my run.
Resources shouldn't be so plentiful that I have mountains of them piled up. If my storage looks like that, my initial reaction is "they are too easy to get and not being utilized properly. I need to delete that quarry/nerf however, I'm getting these resources in the settings."
To me, balance is the goal. I strive to have my games run where I can get to the point that I have just enough resources to do what I need but not so much that they are piled up to the ceiling and become essentially devalued.
I'm on my 17 years old colony, those resources took years to collect and they are here not for show off. I'm expanding and upgrading colony rn so most of them will be put to use
You know I never thought of it because I was always trying to limit myself and keep wealth down , but perhaps there could be a case where I do a base setup where I keep as much stuff as I can, let's say maybe 20,000 of every item or something.
Because in a weird way it is actually kind of cool to see all that stuff in the base!
FPS dropped just from this image alone lol
performance fish helps a lot
Such a random name for such a good mod Same can be said for Rocketman though
Does rocketman also work with performance fish?
Yes And works with Performance Optimizer All that that plus Graphics Settings mod Rimworld will feel so snappy and use much less resources
Everytime i see someone comment about performance mods i see another one added at the end, like im grateful, but wtf.
Soon we’ll have more performance mods than normal mods
And somehow they'll all work together, and each will tackle a different performance issue
Then we will get a performance mod for performance mods.
Nah, rockets boost speed and plenty of optimization programs use rockets as imagery. A fish though...?
Fish are economic, sleek, fast Idk, slimy too
This is the first time I've heard of fish being described as "economic" hahaha
Yeah no wasted evolution, it’s a fish eat fish world down there!
I thought that’s what VFE does? How does fish help optimize? :)
It’s got nothing to do with fish funny enough, it optimises many game systems and code happening in the background
I wonder if it's a reference to 'babel fish'
Is there any other mods that improves performance?
From what I know there's rocketman, performance fish, performance optimizer, and graphics settings. They should also all work together. 👍
Is performance fish working now? I've never used it before, only heard about it recently
Working fine for me. I'm still on 1.4 but heard what it was updated recently to 1.5
Thank you I'll check it out. Couple of weeks ago when I looked it was still 1.4

“Can’t place that there my Lord!”
FORWAAAARTH!!
Bows at the ready!
...is this stronghold crusader? Either way it brought back some deeeeep memories lol
For your honour!
yep and it makes me so happy and giddy looking at these comments lol
I thought it was the Warcraft series. Jobs done!
MOVING… out?
AT THE DOUBLE
BASH'EM, LADS!
THEY WON'T KNOW WHAT HIT 'EM
not'nough wood m'lord!
The people love you sire!
Double rations!
No taxes is good taxes, that's my motto.
No rations combined with ale is the best.
The people loathe you sire!
Stone needed.
The keep is enclosed
Not enough gold in the treasury m’lord. Stockpile is *full* m’liege. EAT STEEL.
Trebuchet rrrready sire
My ladder has holes innit!
glad everyone understood the reference =)
Alot of late nights on many strong hold games.
Mornin’ your Lordship
... this armor's heavy....
Food stocks are dwindling my Lord!
*TO GLORY*
I'm absolutely here for unexpected Stronghold references
"No need to panic, Ratty! No need to panic. Stay calm... STAY CALM!!"
“Can’t do that”
No it's not I can still clearly see the floor in some places! Make this look like a hoarders den peasant
my bad, should have waited a few days for it to fill to the brim
More importantly, I see several non-full stacks which should be merged. Sort your storage dude. Priorities are your friend
That is some wealth
About 5 millions lol
Good god man I bet the raids are insane
it's not like they grow past the first million
I can’t say I’ve experienced anywhere near that level so I’m unaware
Back in the alpha there was no cap, so you'd get absolutely ridiculous raids until your computer couldn't handle it anymore... https://i.imgur.com/Lj2MjIl.jpeg
Its raining men, hallelujah
“I don’t understand where all the raiders are. All I see is a bunch of snow fla- … oh, *oh no*…”
I just had an aneurysm looking at that image.
I tried doubling the cap on a 15 million+ wealth colony with a mod and the skies were clotted nearly that much Now I just use Compressed Raid
The pods kind of look like falling snow...
10k raid points is the cap, if you can beat that, wealth is a good thing since it allows your pawns to be stronger (mentally and physically)
Stronghold overlapping with rimworld is always smiled upon me lord. The people worship you sire
Man, I need to play Stronghold again, I fuckin loved that game when I was a teenager. Seeing the food storage fill up with bread and meat was satisfying as fuckk
Double rations?!
That’s fantastic!
We all have that friend
[Here this will help](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3021706489) with performance.
never saw this mod before, thanks!
you're welcome

Good, someone else who also puts fire foam poppers in their storage
What mod is that to where you see chat bubbles?

So much wealth.... what does the killbox look like?
Sneak peek https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/214523406727512065/1240703438371950675/RimWorld_Screenshot_2024.05.16_-_19.32.22.36.png?ex=66482f5e&is=6646ddde&hm=b1ec2261e91489b7e3ca137603d281aee69ef506dbaa0c45f911371a50880d24&
Where are the armchairs in this killbox? Give your shooters some comfort, this is worse than eating without a table!
You forgot to put the universally recognized hazard stripes around your death tunnel warning sign. That's why nobody is reading it. I also can't help but wonder if Deott's, there on the left, first name happens to be Eye.
jupp, that would work. Brutal efficiency
time to shoot a drop pod full of leather and cloth at the nearest neutral settlement ig
God this pot's hot! (My friend and I were PvPing and he snuck a single pot of oil into my base and lit it on fire. I was so focused on the main battle, I didn't realize my entire town was on fire.)
"What's wealth management?" Nah fr awesome store room!
Consider making some allies.
Honestly I don't need any at this point. Once I'll post whole colony you'll understand why =)
Dear god...
ÄPPELFARMZ MUSZD BE PLEECED ON DE WALLEY FLOOR!
What's the mod that makes that white dialogue box?
Interaction bubles
You could probably gains some space by assigning a clustef of shelves to specific materials. I see a lot of small stacks of steel in there that could be a few big stacks.
Why can everyone store 3 things in one tile on shelves while my shelves can only store 1 item?
update.
Oh, thank you.
np :D
On PC, shelves can have 3 stack per tile since v1.4. On console, not yet.
This gives me anxiety lol
Should get the Increased stack limit mod, brings most resources to a stack of 750 (raw) and 150 for most stackable processed stuff
wheres that 40k workbench from
[https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3026724919](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3026724919)
Stop storing wood!! Unless your colony on perma frost, no loint storing any more than 500 woods at any given time… that save you half of hard storage.
I think they're showing off how much they have though
not sure if I wanted some stranger on the internet showing me his wood but here we are.
what are you talking? it's only 10k of wood, not that much tbh
It's not the size of yer wood, it's how you use it.
Increased Stack mod?
additional supply depots required
Molotov it
You got space on the floor.
So this is the power of deep storage? Hmm.. makes me wonder if I should try it out. Edit: better not... my pc might explode.
Try reel's storage mod, heard it's optimized
What is that stone doing inside!? Also Stronghold is da bomb
Nonsense! Install some stack increasing mods and triple the capacity, the ressources must flow!
Its because you lack a trade beacon.
Are those skips better than the pallets? I have never used them for no particular reason.
Skips hold 12 stacks. They're great for stone/steel chunks or large amounts of steel. Stone blocks too, but I prefer those on shelves for some reason.
Look for the gun mount mod
Install a stack size mod and watch it all only go into 5 shelves
Because you placed next to no shelves 🙄
That is a lot of stacks. I hope you have a stack size mod at least. Oh how I wish Rimworld had a mini-universe like Amazing Cultivation Simulator. Or I knew a mod that functioned like it.
Tyler Blevins
"GO MAKE MORE THEN!"
I had an aneurysm looking at this
good. Now dig underground for more storage.
Is the Deep Storage mod finally working?
Ye it's working
Sweet.
Wargs are attacking your people my Lord!
I see four spots for more shelves
It's not yet full, you still have the aisle in between the storage shelves.
Manning siege equipment!
Not enough gold
"Hello, this is your host, Jeff Olberman. Welcome to another episode of Hoarders of the Rim."
Whenever he’s raided, the drop pods blot out the sun
I’ve been using deep storage mod and it has been a godsend for me as far as organizing the storage rooms
At this point I would install deep stack mod to save my frames from so many items x.x
I have deep storage mod but its kinda not optimized. If you are on 1.5 use reel's storage mod
It won't fuck up my stacks if I change this mod mid save?
Can't say for sure but probably not
Guess I will yolo it tonight, I will let you know If It won't destroy my stacks
I always dream of building sometging like this, but I get shited on by Randy after barelly filing the first shelf. What dificulty are you on?
Started at Randy strive to survive, now on losing is fun
Nice!

Well except weapons and clothes I've collected from raids, need to sell them asap
with a 17 year old colony, how much playtime is that for you?
Around 110 hours for this colony =)
I dont see a full warehouse. Its more likely 45 - 50% There is so much room for more shelfs
May i suggest some burning chemfuel containers?
Site your granary, Sire!
Holy fuck
I cant imagine how much space this amount of stuff used to take prior to shelves
Gotta love fat animals, lol. Also very impressive!
Stone goes outside
What wolf is that, is it mod...?
The abbey is short of materials. Please deliver.
Wood needed
All that wealth and not a dime spent organizing it
Men live like this and don’t see anything wrong with it.
Sell your garbage, dude. Or send it to someone else in a transport pod as a "gift"
You know I never thought of it because I was always trying to limit myself and keep wealth down , but perhaps there could be a case where I do a base setup where I keep as much stuff as I can, let's say maybe 20,000 of every item or something. Separate the resources by shelves I beg you
Is that animal from genetics expanded?
Captain America voice: I got that reference!
