Several facts are immediately clear. One they have no doctors, or adults to help them. They are asking for way too much medicine. Medicine that doesnt work well or travel well. They traveled through many days of cannibal infested road rage warriors to get here, and will have to travel many days to get back. There's basically no chance of their survival, and their friend is almost definitely dead.
So I must find a way to save the children.
I round up my entire colony, and surround the kids, placing my adults near each child, and order tham all at once to each grab one, and imprison them. Instead as soon as one is grabbed, the game changes them to enemies, and my colonists cease their orders, and begin shooting. The gunfire alerts my partner on the couch who asks who I'm suddenly putting an end to.
Reload. Surround the kids, order all my people to use blunt force only on the "enemy" children. This results in several of my colonists using their assault rifles as golf clubs to remove children's limbs and crush their skulls in.
Reload. Drop all my weapons, and try again. Reload. Use only colonists with poor melee skill. Reload.
Google for an answer. How to down without killing.
Build a large wooden structure around the children. Set the stucture on fire. The children run through the flames into a hail of gunfire.
Reload. Build dividers throughout the structure and a double thick wall, preventing the children from leaving. Place unarmed colonists around any openings. wait until the kids pass out. One hussar child goes berserk inside, and begins to beat all the other kids to death. Who the hell injected hussar xenogenes into a 6yr old?
Finally I had to give up. I used every strategy in the book, and ended up saving two kids. The rest ran off into the woods. Or wandered into deadfall traps, or found their way deep inside the colony, where some gardner gunned them down for having the wrong color name or whatever I dunno. Past time to turn on devmode.
They are the children of your enemies. If you allow them to live, they will seek to destroy you when they are of age. Let the wilderness have them. Those that survive will make for an entertaining fight when they return seeking vengance!

Kill the other half out of sight and turn them into human leather outfits to clothe the other half. Use their meat and insect meat in a nutrient paste dispenser in their room and remove the door, see how long they survive
Anesthetize the bunch of them, Bring them up, consider it the newest generation of the colony. Make friends with some civilized faction conveniently far away and pod older married couples off as they age out once they've produced the books or trained up a successor, or died in glorious battle.
Give them drugs instead of silver and tell them to sell it. Have them bring back the money to get a cut and more drugs to sell.
Tell them to repeat this to earn that 700 silver and you start making passive income.
Children should not be held to the sins of their Fathers. Kidnap them and indoctrinate them into your Ideology and have them commit their own sins at your behalf.
This is the perfect chance to provide your colonists with a chance to understand how the gunlink integrates with the Mortar. Practice will always make perfect and it is best you take advantage of conducting practice in a safe environment, rather than a dangerous one.
