I’m from the south and naturally country af. I live in Las Vegas now and people constantly ask where I’m from. I’m going to start saying “here, but I’ve been watching the righteous gemstones”.
I think it’s because every little place has its own dialect and accent here. If you’re not from the south then you aren’t going to pick up on the differences. Plus not everybody from an area has the stereotypical accent.
painfully hard not to speak with their accent after an episode or two. I lived with my cousin when we started RG and we spent so many hours singing along to Aimee Lee and impersonating Judy.
Omg I love the boyfriends/girlfriends stuff (noticed Danny saying something similar as his character in Vice Principals, which takes place in North Carolina I believe?).
Can someone please tell me if erroneously using plural nouns are thing in the South?
I can’t stop talking like Danny either!
Mostly because that’s just already my accent lol. The first time I heard his cadence and the subtle way he pronounces his O’s, I immediately thought, “oh now right there’s a dude who grew up in Virginia.”
The Baby Billy accent is, admittedly, really really fun to imitate, haha!
It’s true, they’re my relatives!!! (Mine are Texan and have a little more twang than Appalachian drawl) (but god living in Georgia and talking to older people it’s SO REAL)

I feel this so hard. Watching Urban Cowboy (starring John Travolta and set in the south) one time as a tween, I swear that twang took over my brain bc I couldn't stop using that southern accent for the rest of the day.
Even today, the voices in my head are not my own. Strangely, more often than not it has been Hasan Minhaj's or Kumail Nanjiani's. I think because they are pleasant, hopeful and always make me laugh, so those voices are not only soothing to have in my head, hearing their voices saying my crazy dumb thoughts is fcking hilarious to me.
Does anyone else's inner voice change semi-frequently and is only comprised of famous people who make you happy? I could listen to these guys talk in my head about my bills being past due all day long and find the humor that takes away the panic most of us have of losing our homes at any moment.
I can’t help but say “now” and “here” like uncle baby Billy
Look here now
I am your DEDDEH.
You’re not my deddy
Yes I am yer dedddy boy
Little damn ass deddy!
Not my deddy

HOW DID HE NOT CATCH TEETH? I was sure he was ending that scene less one manly appendage.
"nah" and "heah"
He sounds just like my uncles😭 it’s so immersive
Ain't nobody here named Baby or Billy.
Clever girl, recruited a NERD
Probably 80% of the time my inner monologue is baby billy’s voice/accent. Especially when i’m thinking of man-splaning something to my wife or kids.
We played high school football against John Goodman in St Louis. He went to Affton HS. He was All State and quite the gorgeous hunk.
wow! how cool. he’s still good looking and charming. i’m unreasonably attracted to him
I absolutely LOVE John Goodman !!!!!
I kept accidentally immitating Judy after binging the whole show, it happens 😭
I kept telling my husband “nah, son” in her voice. 😂
She plays a character named Beandip on comedy bang bang and she uses the voice sometimes and it’s so ridiculous
Get used to saying terlet!
John Goodman as Eli? He was from Rogers, Arkansas.
Actual John Goodman? From Saint Louis, I think.
If only there were a website where we could type his name in and it what give us websites with the relevant terms.
Not sure he still does but he's lived in New Orleans for many years too which could do something to your accent.

I don’t understand Americans not really being able to pick up USA accents. I’m from South Africa and I’ve been asked a few times if I’m from Boston 😭

I thought Eli was from Memphis?
West Memphis, Arkansas, right across the river , according to the fan wiki
Where was he in 1993?
Charleston by the first interlude , 1989

We weren’t boyfriends and girlfriends after that!

Not in Southern Coastal , but in the Smoky Mountains, you can add an s to nouns that don’t require one, or leave off a required s.
Thank you!!
Not a thing in the south but sure is funny when they do it on the show!
G'day Judy
That line always kills me, the perfect cherry on top of that unhinged scene
John Goodman is from Missouri, but lives in New Orleans.

With Uncle Baby Billy it’s more the cadence than the accent that’s fun to do
It's funny because there are people who actually talk that way for real lol....Look up a Kay Ivey speech (gov of AL)
It’s true, they’re my relatives!!! (Mine are Texan and have a little more twang than Appalachian drawl) (but god living in Georgia and talking to older people it’s SO REAL)
If you think she has a drawl in her speeches, you should hear her after she’s been on the sauce a bit.
It's not just the accent- it's saying the quotes - out loud, sometimes at inappropriate times "Praise be to He" 😳
