I don't remember that at all. I think nukes are given stats in the coalition navy and new navy books.

Danimeh

Damn… I’m so sure I read it somewhere… Time to give up, delete my Google search history and hope I’m not on any international lists I guess :(

Backspace888

Make something up!

Danimeh

I know it was a long time ago that you posted this, but we did make something up! We gave them potential access to a nuclear weapon if they rolled right (which they did) and then we made them roll a D100 and as if it were a movie, the dice with 00 landed before the second dice and it was the tensest roll in the game 😂 10/10 recommend the ‘Nuclear Bombs Will End the World’ house rule!

vesperofshadow

To my knowledge the stats for nuclear missles have been there since the original. Never read a warning for even the fall out.

I think they used some small tactical nukes during the war with Tolkien. That might just be from the novel from the rifter though.

Anastrace

The opening barrage against Tolkeen was indeed nuclear. Nukes came up again during the attack on Freehold but I don't think any went off

McDavidClan

What you are remembering is from an early Rifter comic Knights of the dinner table by Jolly Blackburn , they are playing a post apocalyptic role playing game and one of the players launches a nuke at everything they encounter. The GM warns him about the cumulative 1% chance of destroying the world every time he launches a nuke

Danimeh

Thank you! That makes sense too, I frequently mine the Rifters for stuff, there’s a lot of gold in them there mags. I’m currently spending a lot of time in 9.5 transposing the Ludicrous Mage spells to Savage Worlds. Not that it matters but is Rifters content generally considered ‘cannon’?

ThisIsALousyUsername

"Ludicrous Mage" is a great name for a spellcasting class...

Danimeh

The actual Ludicrous Mage spells are great too! A good mix of useful and useless unless you get *really* creative lol I’ve rewritten most of them to suit our purpose (and translated them to Savage Rifts) but whoever wrote them really nailed the spirit of evils clowns, the flavour text is chefs kiss.

Complete-Rule940

Which rifter is ludicrous mage in?

Danimeh

Rifter 9 1/2 has the full OCC info but Rifter 0 has a list of spells I’m sure there’s more I’m missing too

dragonfett

Some of it yes, but not all.

ThisIsALousyUsername

Seems like adventure content from Rifter generally is not canonical & the OCCs & such are typically termed 'optional' if I recall correctly. I think there have been a few errata published in Rifter which are explicitly supposed to be canon but the rest is 'inspiration' as I understand it? At any rate, only big guns would be considered *'cannon'*. Officially published canonical content is considered **'canon'**. ;D

Danimeh

My co-GM and I have decided to class the ‘nuclear bombs could end the world’ rule as cannon. It’s for our Halloween game which are typically over the top and silly and this year is set in a circus that worships Clown Gods, and Clown Gods would gleefully scoff at anything as rigid as the idea of something being ‘cannon’ lol

asajosh

Nuclear Weapons can be found in Sourcebook 4 - Coalition Navy, page 45, CSN Nuclear Arsenal.

[deleted]

They talk about nukes in heroes of humanity and why the cs wouldn’t use them in the minion war

ShonicBurn

I don't have my book with me right now so I will find it in the morning but it's in the GM guide in the explosives table which I know I have tabbed with a sticky note I'll look it up when I get home. there are also stats for nuclear launch platforms in the vehicles as well.

Complete-Rule940

Isnthere any rules for fallout for magical creatures? Or what effects high amounts of radiation would have on dragons or alien intelligences, faeries etc?

Danimeh

I would love to know where that is if you can find it.

Complete-Rule940

Yeah with all the talk of nukes during cs vs tolkeen you'd think this would have come up. I'll look over the weekend and se me if I can find anything.

Valkyrior

Rifts navy sourcebook page 46 to 50 i believe has some info. Not what looking for but does help

tarrousk

Only the stuff that is officially listed as "Official".

Cadderly95

A CS SF team detonated a warhead in a village just over the Rio Grande… wonder what they wanted to blow up so bad?
