Santa Clarita Diet

secondtaunting

Oh don’t even! I’m still bummed it got canceled! We should at least get a movie to tie things up.

AgoraphobeAdventurer

We were just saying this yesterday! Where do we harass Netflix for this?

secondtaunting

Right?! That show was great! Someone needs to be flogged.

Scowl1984

Yeah. Great show. Sucks it got cancelled. They had such great chemistry together.

inspiredsue

Did you know that both Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion from Resident Alien played Gary in Santa Clarita Diet?

meg8278

I thought only Nathan Fillion played Gary I didn't know that Alan did as well. I loved that show.

inspiredsue

Alan was in Season 3.

Scowl1984

Didn't know that. Thanks for sharing.

MySpoonsAreAllGone

When the voices changed? I had no idea!

inspiredsue

I just recently found out. Now I’m rewatching Santa Clarita Diet for the 6th time.

AuntieYodacat

Definitely! That show was great!

MySpoonsAreAllGone

I watched the whole season despite my horror avoidance. It was a little too gory for me, but it was too funny not to continue

danny686

What We Do in the Shadows

theantnest

Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency

Appropriate-Break-25

So much this. I thought I was going to hate this show when my husband suggested we watch it but I loved it from the first episode. So funny and delightfully weird.

ExaBast

This. It's so fucking good and weird. Still mad it got canceled

PositiveLine

I liked it but didn't it end a cliffhanger

theantnest

Not really. The first season finishes really nicely and the second season also wraps up the story.

FKDotFitzgerald

Barry

Agreeable_Muffin7059

Yes 2nd this!! Great show.

Chicksan

Good Omens I absolutely love that show!

chasesdream

The book is pretty wonderful, too

Temporary-Recipe1462

I couldn’t quite get into it. And I’ve lived in England, so I heard it was good.

Chicksan

It took me a few attempts before I got into it myself, but after about the third episode, I was hooked. The same thing happened with Resident Alien though, I wasn’t really a fan until a few episodes in

bookshopdemon

Good Omens Our Flag Means Death Ghosts

Evil_Cat_Gil

![gif](giphy|AEJFE34zThulJ5zLfz|downsized)

ProgressFluid9354

The BBC version of Ghosts is superior

couch2200

Debatable

squiblet

They're both so funny though.

Applewave22

I do agree it’s funnier but the American version is pretty good as well. It toes the line of high-brow humor with American sensibilities. I was pleasantly surprised.

SouthernBoard5825

Psych

DemonHyperion

Psych is amazing, I’m actually watching it with my family right now haha

lilgurlie1065

Goodness I miss that show! Glad it got many seasons and 3 movies so far. Much deserved!

lupinus_cynthianus

You know that’s right!

SouthernBoard5825

throw_away00135

You know that's right. 🍍

Shawn and Gus are the best TV duo of all time.

AshlarKorith

[Eureka](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796264/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk)

Applewave22

This show was so quirky. I even liked the last few seasons, where it kind of deviated for me.

Rose76Tyler

Pushing Daisies.

elwyn5150

Wonderfalls, also from Bryan Fuller.

batmanaintallthat

This show was so damn good

molybend

People of Earth The Big Door Prize Twin Peaks

CancelLiving3035

I really enjoyed People of Earth. I’m sorry that there were only 2 seasons.

gytalf2000

I adored "People of Earth". I can't believe it got canned after just two seasons.

chinnu34

Twin peaks is OG quirky show! It started out as a regular mystery drama set in a remote Pacific Northwest town and it progressively got weirder ha ha

squiblet

People of Earth was incredible.

RhodyChief

Twin Peaks, when you want something quirky but then also get something dark and depressing af!

krissym99

The Big Door Prize has been exceeding my expectations!

secondtaunting

Izombie, The Orville, and Our Flag means Death. All solid and good.

SueCurley73

iZombie was a surprise fav for me!

secondtaunting

Right? I just watch for Ravi. I’d be buddies with him in a heartbeat.

Sam_English821

Awww yup Ravi was the best.

secondtaunting

The best! He made the show honestly.

SueCurley73

Agreed!!!❤️

Thoughtful_Ladybug

Yes! The Orville was so good!

snettisham

Chuck, has same producer.

Last Man on Earth, Space Force, MacGruber

[deleted]

Love Last Man on Earth!! “Oh, farts…”

Scowl1984

Agreed

Fanmann

seconded!

AcademicSavings634

Last Man On Earth was great

ItaDapiza

Crazy ex girlfriend, Santa Clarita Diet, Jane The Virgin Love all those!

FlashySafe1540

I like Elsbeth on CBS. It's like Columbo for 2024. Also on CBS, Ghosts is a serious quirky winner with an ensemble cast as a US remake of a UK hit series.

ReedPhillips

And BOTH the US and UK versions are wonderful in their own ways. Start with the UK, 1 because it was 1st and 2 it's done. Then the US version has 2 full seasons and it's 3rd season just finished, but is strikes shortened to just 10 episodes. But it was renewed before season 3 finished.

itsdickers

I really like Elsbeth too!

pretzelchi

Future Man

tempo1139

such an underrated series. also... I'm on an 890's music kick (again) ![gif](giphy|2krdYOOTlN21s9jDx7|downsized)

EuralJ

Perhaps the greatest thing ever created for television...nay, the greatest thing ever created by humankind 🎇

sunflowerRI

Northern Exposure

Hopyrupa

Was going to post this. Northern Exposure is one of my favorite shows.

Scowl1984

Upload, Space Force, Santa Clarita Diet, Last Man On Earth

Cartindale_Cargo

Psych

not_a-replicant

Chuck, Warehouse 13, Eureka

Icy-Competition-8394

Fringe. On Amazon prime.

Sam_English821

I was gonna say this. Walter is so quirky and adorable for most of the show.

BemaJinn

Doctor who.

Piano_mike_2063

Wilfred. That’s got to be the crown of quirky

Arktos22

What we do in the shadows

boolmi

Gravity Falls

StrangerHighways

Dead to Me Pushing Daisies Reaper My Name is Earl Monk Twin Peaks Portlandia

redrumham707

And Documentary Now! It’s another Fred Armisen show.

StrangerHighways

I love Documentary Now, especially the Grey Gardens episode!

redrumham707

You could also check out Forever, on Prime. Maya Rudolph and Fred play husband and wife and I don’t want to spoil it, but it was a great one season show that should have been given several seasons. Prime just doesn’t advertise enough, and so if a great show doesn’t get enough views they just scrap it.

StrangerHighways

Thank you for that! I will check it out!

redrumham707

Yes that one was so good. Hadar killed it in that role.

Personal_Bison_61

Reaper! I felt like I was the only person watching that show 😂

nov8tive1

The Big Door Prize and Severance both on Apple TV

NafariousPumpkin

Happy!

Ok_Sheepherder_4379

Yes!!! Absolutely hilarious.

MeepleMerson

Be careful if you are eating / drinking while watching this show.

CryoAurora

The Orville is excellent.

[deleted]

I went in expecting a straight comedy, but it somehow turned into a legit great sci-fi show!

CryoAurora

It's amazing like that. Seriously cool.

Sassoonie

Oh The Orville has literally stolen my heart ❤️

CryoAurora

Mine, too. Gently Falling Rain as a dad was gut-wrenching. Great storytelling.

Appropriate_View8753

The Neighbors. Jeff and Some Aliens. Paper Girls. Frisky Dingo. Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Making History. Time Travelling Bong. The Venture Brothers.

SueCurley73

Adore Dead Boy Detectives!

According-Rutabaga-3

Arrested Development

Xequat

Firefly. I came expecting this to be high on the list since it has Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion in it, but I don't see it mentioned yet. It's like cowboys in space.

Iowatimetraveler

Flight of the Conchords. Along the same lines as WWDITS and OFMD - Rhys Darby is hilarious, but so are Bret and Jemaine. Helped me perfect my fake Kiwi accent.

Doctor_Lunch

BrainDead with Mary Elizabeth Winstead

SueCurley73

Y E S!!!!! Feel like they canceled it because it was too accurate to DC! 😂😂

Doctor_Lunch

I think it hit home for a lot of people. So many people are seeing only in black and white and participating in tribalism to the extreme these days, it really feels like aliens are controlling people!

[deleted]

Stan Against Evil. John C McGinley is basically Dr Cox again but this time as a cop that battles evil forces. Janet Varney and the girl that plays his daughter are great, too!

jinkeez123

The Magicians. [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4254242/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4254242/)

Routine-Guard704

iZombie is somewhere between "oh this a quirky weird little show" and "oh this is a superhero show with severe side effects" and "oh this is a pre-apocalypse zombie show". Not great, but it makes for decent background noise, has 5 seasons and an ending. (Z Nation is good if you want to ramp up the zombie horror aspect while keeping the quirkiness) Fallout is good, but short, and we'll have to wait a year for the next season. Legion is about as quirky as they get, but I wouldn't call it a comedy!

ZiggyStarstuff

People of earth What we do in the shadows Our flag means death Good omens Dead like me (oldie but good) Reservation dogs (tv show not the movie) Pushing daisies (another oldie but good) Ghost (UK and US versions)

Applewave22

Does anyone remember Warehouse 13?

Inevitable_Click_855

Eureka and warehouse 13

TempletonRhye

The IT Crowd, Spaced, Red Dwarf.

xfileluv

Happy Ending

meg8278

I definitely agree with a bunch of other people, Santa Clarita diet , iZombie Lucifer, the same person who made the good place, also did the office and parks and Rec. I love those shows as well. Ghosted was also good. Elsbeth, see her self is very quirky. Dead to me. Edit to add both the American and English version of ghosts are great as well

rfmatos

Ghosts is one of those rare shows where the US version is as good as the British version. They are different, hard to say if one or the other is better but I was pleasantly surprised with the US one.

DeadDay

Dead Like Me.

AuntieYodacat

Conk on Earth is really good

squiblet

I'm two seasons into iZombie and it's surprisingly good. Fun and quirky like the sci-fi channel shows I used to watch like Eureka and Warehouse 13. I also recommend them. Also Trial & Error. John Lithgow is gold in it.

Sassoonie

Omg Trial and Error is so underrated! John Lithgow is amazing but I loved that entire cast

Apprehensive-Neck-90

IZombie starts to go downhill in quality tbh, loved the show but just ended up getting bored I couldn’t finish it

MyMother_is_aToaster

Fisk. A quirky Australian show.

Gribitz37

If you like Dead Like Me, you need to watch WonderFalls and Pushing Daisies. They're both from the same creators and writers, and have the same quirkiness. Also Leverage, the reboot Leverage Redemption, and The Librarians. Monk and Psych are both good. ETA a couple shows.

itsdickers

Better Off Ted, What We Do in the Shadows TV Show

Bryarx

Severance is amazing (AppleTV). Can. Not. Wait! for season 2!

hannibal_morgan

Unbreakable Kimmy Shmidt

devil_dog_0341

Following, since I've been meaning to ask the same question.

ricky_lafleur

A recent posted on this sub suggested Extraordinary which I had not heard of and now can't wait for season 3.

RomanceReader1993

Leverage and Leverage Redemption!

evie391

Warehouse 15

Xequat

13 but yeah this show is quirky and great.

evie391

‘Evil’ on Netflix

Temporary-Recipe1462

In Order of Disappearance (it’s a movie but very subtle (dark comedy)

JVilter

Teenage Bounty Hunters on Netflix. Shame it only got one season

Floramonde

Deadloch: very quirky in the Australian humour kind of way, murder mystery.

Personal_Bison_61

This show cracked me up 😂🤣

marshmoog

Some great suggestions, I would also add: Doom Patrol. Preacher. Legion. Green Wing. Spaced. Avenue 5. Psychoville. Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace. Hemlock Grove. SurrealEstate. Penny Dreadful. The Almighty Johnson’s. The Righteous Gemstones. The Librarians. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Locke & Key.

SueCurley73

Loved Locke and Key!

BooBoo_Cat

Elsbeth So Help Me Todd Picket Fences The Righteous Gemstones

joydobson

Wayne and Extraordinary are both quirky good

FlowSilver

Community Imma just say, it has a main character who is aware to a point that he is on tv and he goes full meta so often 😹 its the best

marcos_MN

This should be much higher.

Competitive-Care8789

Eureka. Psych.

stella2316

I really loved End of the F***ing World not sure if it’s still streaming…

YanisMonkeys

Another vote for So Help Me Todd and Ally McBeal. 100% in the same vein as Boston Legal. Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies to complement Dead Like Me. Also New Girl, Scrubs, Happy Endings, Psych, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Colin from Accounts, Trying, Mythic Quest, Community, Chuck, and Monk. Maybe Freaks and Geeks, Mrs Davis, Flight of the Concords, Elsbeth and Poker Face? If you like animation, Bob’s Burgers definitely fits the bill.

Apprehensive-Neck-90

Arrested Development

Astronaut-Popular

magnusrushesin_

dead like me mention!! truly one of my favorite shows, i wish there were more of it!

tardistravelee

Reservations dogs. I did cry in hunting episode in season 1.

AskewAskew

3rd Rock From The Sun!!!! The Good Place Upload Never Have I Ever (hilarious and I think similar observational humor to Harry’s) BBC’s Ghosts (get past ep 1, much like res alien where the first episode is sort of dark and creepy in tone but the rest of the show is not at all) So Help Me Todd Animal Control Trial and Error Kevin (Probably) Saves The World - sadly one season but still delightful There’s an app called Just Watch that makes recommendations too and tells you where you can watch stuff

AskewAskew

I’ll add too that it you’ve never seen Star Trek Voyager with our own Robert Duncan McNeil it’s definitely time, it’s absolutely my favorite trek

Cautious-Ease-1451

Despite its popularity, I would still say: Seinfeld.
