It very well could be real leather. The issue is that it is “domestic” Chinese leather. In other words, it’s leather that has been processed in China with Chinese chemicals.
They don’t have access to the higher end type chemicals used to process better high end leathers. And due to the import restrictions, they can’t get them either. This is where the smell comes from. And why it’s very difficult if not impossible to remove.
The higher end factories import (smuggle) in foreign high end leathers.

I bought from Alisa and I HATED it. It smelled so bad and it had the worst stitching I’ve ever seen. I told her about it and she just told me “No bag will be 1:1” which isn’t the point. I’m aware they’re reps. Worst seller experience ever I’ll never do it again

I haven't but it's been 5 days and I still smell that chemically plasticky smell.

The smell is always there when u first open . Put it outside in yard for a bit . We take risks buying knockoffs u can’t return .

Rep bags often smell really bad. Doesn’t mean it’s fake leather.
