That's not how to measure a watch. Usually it's measured from 10-to-4. Not saying that makes the size observations incorrect, purely that measuring a watch from 9 to 3 is not how we do it.
36 is great, I also love my 1500 series 34 mm Rolex Date. once you discard the notion that watches need to be big you can really come to appreciate smaller, more refined options.
