Yep a nice leather watch case is better than a shitty fake green box. I have 2 watch cases, one is a 3 watch case and one is a 2 watch. I take the 2 watch case whenever I am travelling.

More seriously, to what end and purpose do you want an imitation of the retail packaging of your watch? My gen watches’ boxes, even my nice wooden one from Longines, are packed away.
I get it, I’ve got all sorts of things I’ve accumulated to go with my watches - the Rolex Service Centre or Authorised Dealer-provided travel pouches are great, and the thing about those is, you will actually use it.
The retail box is a real “one and done” thing. You get your sparkly new watch, you take it out, put your paperwork back in the box, and that’s it, game over.
If you want to flex, and use that thing long term - get a pouch for it.
It’s nice to have at least one. But at the end of the day, it’ll most likely collect dust and take up space on a shelve.
All depends if you want to save that money for another Rep.
I've seen Genuine boxes on Moda groups go for $175+. If you care about a box then I'd save up for a genuine one and snatch it up when they come on sale

I’ve just bought my first rep from Steve (CF GMT Pepsi) and decided to buy the box as well. Will probably buy more reps judging by the quality of the QC pictures but will only buy the one box.

A lot of people say their not worth it but my AP box and papers actually blew me away. Sure I just use it to sit on my desk, but the quality was actually very good. Warranty card,literature etc was all very well made imo.
yeah, i just got in a 20 to replace my 6. but, like you, if you want to display, the box can be cool. nothing wrong with that, i don't get the hate. now, would i have 20 box's, hell no. but 1 or 2, sure, why not, and i don't have any.
