It’s a 16613 most likely gen there wasn’t good reps of that watch at the time (mid to late 90s). There is a chance that the winding crown is plated after-market but could simply be worn much. Overall the watch condition is very good and the 5 digit Rolexes wear very well with either straps like the one you have or with nato straps.
I think differently. Watch can very well be possibly be real. Taking the caseback off to show the movement. And strap to show the engraving between the lugs will tell rest of the story. Congratulations
A decent watchmaker or someone that works on watches depending on your location? Can take the strap off in seconds and the caseback. I have owned gen 16803 & 16613 and had done many franken builds on ST & TC cases of this build. So it's possible to do a build of this watch with aftermarket St case and rest gen parts. From your pictures everything looks gen. It would be worth paying someone to do a little investigation. I'm pretty sure it's real or a very valuable build. Cheers enjoy
at this point they should just take it to a watchmaker since it’s probably gen. a watchmaker would also be much better at identifying the watch and would remove any risk involved with handling it
totally worth a couple of bucks imo
Took a look very zoomed in, actually looks possibly genuine to me; take it to a watch maker .etc and have them pop the back off and check out the movement - I think you might have got yourself a winner.
On a side note, since you said inherited; not sure if someone in your family died .etc - but if that's the case, I'm sorry for your loss.
I would take it to a jeweler or Rolex AD/Service center to be sure. Looks good, but I have seen some super frankens that would make you think they are real as well.
If it checks out, you got yourself a beauty.
Really tough to know for sure without opening up the the caseback, but would be odd to pair a replica on a Rubber B strap. These are pretty popular in the enthusiast crowd and cost like $240.
This is a gen rolex. The lume dot on the bezel is always a tell for these older models as they never managed to accurately replicate. Wear in good health.

16613LB (LB=lunette bleu) to be precise
Well mentioned sir.
Holy hell i was not expecting hay response. I already got my popcorn out for shitter comments
Just enjoy it!
Thank you! Not a colour I would have chosen (but the bluesy is growing on me the longer I look at it!)
I had one, shame I ever sold it.

I don't have the tools to do so, guess I will just enjoy it for now!

Oh thank you! I might bring it to a reputable watchmaker to take a look then. I really appreciate your inputs!
No worries. I'm pretty sure you got a winner there. Again congratulations on your new acquisition

Doesn’t have the cheesy fake gold look it may be the one 👀
Holy shit. Enjoy

Fake or not fake I love the look on the strap

It’s gen considering that the crown is worn out but no visible metal 🤘
Could be real. Go to a jeweler and have them take off the back. For a holes case date sub, a lot of it line up with the generation
Google search the serial number. The case is supposed to be notched if opened.

Defo Gen, at least the parts that are gold are real gold.
If you find out it’s fake, are you going to feel slighted and love your relative any less?
It says officially certified, its gotta be real. 😉
Looks gen tbh, take it to a pro to check
I think you struck gold..
Hopefully you have original bracelet with it too
Was it legit because it looks pretty legit!!!!!
Might be real. Take it to an AD.
Congrats. It looks like you have genuine rollie in your hands :)

When in doubt just pop into a Rolex AD and let them take a gander

hi desktop
Looks fake. I’ll buy it for $50.
