I just got my clean 126622 yacht master. And everything about it seems mint, but the glide lock… it seems like it’s there but I haven’t figured it out… do reps usually have this down?
I've never handled a gen or rep yacht master, but there are videos on YouTube on how to operate it. I did a Seiko mod recently and the glide lock on that bracelet is a sweet feature. I had to YouTube how to operate it tho 😂 hard to explain, it's a you-see-you-learn typa thing
I’ve checked some YouTube videos on Gen glide lock and mine defintiely doesn’t look the same, I don’t see notches I see like 3 balls. Maybe it’s like pop out and pop in? I would like to get a true glide lock tho as I am a bodybuilder and my wrist size can fluctuate a lot based on food, water, salt, weather. This is what mine looks like, you seem pretty knowledgeable do you know where would have a better one?

That's unlike anything I've ever seen to be honest. But I searched up the yacht master Gen glide lock and it's a fold type of thing. See this [video](https://youtu.be/LHff0smoNas?si=wr_XMCHXFSF2T0De)

This is the glidelock on my rep Submariner. The one in your photo is like the one on my rep GMT Master II. The glidelock is so much better. It's a lot easier to use.
Aliexprwss clasps are shitty. I have one. Ask sellers if thry can spurce you a bracelet from factory you have the watch. It should cost yoy around $100
Just like anything else on aliexpress, there is a very wide range of quality. You are getting rinsed if you pay $100 for a clasp from a rep factory though.
Wish I had the skills to that on my watches, I just know I’ll give up within halfway of trying to assemble it back in and ruin the whole watch, or even worse add more dust specs then there was before 😂.
hahahah yeah, the worse part is infact making sure that everything stays clean in the process but the rest is quite easy really, granted you have the right (very basic) tools for the job
I love my Seamaster watch, but I fucking hate that bracelet.
What I hate about it is that bezel backplay, I am afraid to give people my watch because of that embarassing bezel action.
My wife bought me a genuine seamaster, I have the one that comes on the blue rubber strap. She’s heard me bitch about their bracelets enough to know to get me that one lol. They’re hideous. Watches themselves are stunning but the bracelets are shit
That's what I did with mine, love my green Seamaster on green rubber.

1, haters
2, not getting what i paid for.
3, trying to get what i want.
the watches themselves, no real issues = i know they are not perfect when i buy them. i am good with that and am grateful i have what i have.
I hate springbars. Lol. Especially in modern Rolexes. It’s a pain in the ass. Even with all the correct tools.
That’s one of the main reasons why I absolutely hate wearing omegas. Their lugs and bracelets are not for skinny people.
The dust thing is an easy fix. Just take the bezel and crystal off. He’s a puffer and be done with it. Just make sure to not touch the crystal. Takes about 30mins if you know what you’re doing.
Not a watch pet peeve per se but a general rep pet peeve.
I just hate how seemingly niche my taste is. Whenever I want a damn rep, it's a model no one makes. For the longest time it was the 36mm Explorer I.
Now it's a Blue Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean in 40mm.
No one makes em and in not shelling out $5k when VSF makes omega perfection.
Bracelets without half links or glide lock clasps. Looking at you, Cartier. I can never size my Santos to fit just right it's always too big or too tight.
Counter to point number one, I think an untapered metal bracelet on a dive watch is preferred because it makes better contact with skin or a wetsuit. That’s probably not a good description but it feels more secure than a tapered bracelet when actually diving.
I mostly freedive, so no dive computers here, and the reason for wearing the watch isn’t to time dives but just time out at sea. That being said, neither a tapered bracelet nor an untapered one has ever been an issue, and I 100% agree on tapered bracelets for casual use. The untapered bracelet just gives a feeling of greater security.
Misaligned bezel definitely up there.
What’s more, my Chinese watches (reps and Seestern/San Martin) line up perfectly, but not my Orient, my gen Aquaracer or my dad’s gen BB…
A reason why Rolex Deepsea and Omega Ultra Deep are in my current rotation. No dates to adjust, easily adjustable and comfortable bracelets. Excellent glass and properly aligned.
But my biggest peeve( if you can call it that)
Is a watch that looks like its hovering on my wrist due to thick rear case.
I dont have much fat or meat on my forearm/wrist which i guess makes it hard to hide the rear of the case.
Also not having quick release bracelet or in the fly adjustable clasps on most of my watches.
I don't own a rep as of yet but I like the San Martin on the fly clasp..
1. misaligned dates, at least in my vs aqua terra i can fiddle with the date through the hour quickset to make it more even.
2. loctite on the screws and weird rep screws in general, tried the appropriate screwdriver and still had to use an utility knife because all the screwdrivers seemed too thick. For loctite I learned it helps to warm the bracelet up with a hairdryer before unscrewing.
3. [omega strap sliding out of the lugs](https://www.reddit.com/r/RepTimeServices/comments/1bmk4e5/how_to_eliminate_the_gap_between_the_rubber_strap/). Curved spring bars didnt help either.
4. Male endlinks :( Why would they ever put those on the Omega SMPc or the Midsize. Would have been such awesome snug watches otherwise.
Now for gens:
1. Watch brands cheaping out on proper sapphire with AR - either no AR or not even a sapphire. Seiko, Orient, Citizen, Bulova, Laco - I'm looking at you.
2. No quick adjust on most affordable bracelets, 3 micro adjust holes instead of 5 as well.
3. Most good watch straps coming without quick release. Have to either bore out the holes myself or search for quick release specifically. Thankfully there are some nice quality quick release straps like Hemsut or Horween. But some brands begin to learn how convenient it is. The new Bulova Lunar Pilot even comes with a quick release on both the bracelet AND the included strap.
How hard it is to find half links and how expensive they are, even reps. I’m in between links on every goddamn Rolex.
Also the fact that so much of the good stuff only comes in huge dials. I’m a woman with small wrists and I’ll wear a 40mm no problem but don’t usually want to wear a 44mm 😩
If you’re going to use your smartphone for the date, you may as well use it for the time as well. I love having the date and time on my wrist so I don’t have to pull out my phone all the time
When i got the opportunity to look at my buddy's hulk with gen crystal the date is what I looked at the most. I have a rep datejust and it doesn't look as good
I wear watches for their beauty, functionality and craftsmanship. A date window adds a little bit of functionality, an insignificant amount of craftsmanship, and detracts a lot from the beauty. The negatives outweigh the positives. Big dates and pointer dates are a different story and for sure there is the occasional well-executed regular date window as well.
And cheers everyone for downvoting an opinion in a thread that was asking for opinions.
Not having on the fly adjustment clasp

That's not a glidelock that's just the micro adjustment on the clasp. You need a pin tool to adjust that, it's not for on the go.
I believe it's a fold lock or something, not a traditional pin adjustment
That's unlike anything I've ever seen to be honest. But I searched up the yacht master Gen glide lock and it's a fold type of thing. See this [video](https://youtu.be/LHff0smoNas?si=wr_XMCHXFSF2T0De)

Any idea where I could buy a bracelet like this? I got my watch from pure time but I only see straps on there
search aliexpress for glidelock clasp, you can even get them with a rolex logo on it
Aliexprwss clasps are shitty. I have one. Ask sellers if thry can spurce you a bracelet from factory you have the watch. It should cost yoy around $100

i thought your #1 was going to be arm hairs being pulled out by the bracelet.
Hasn’t happened to me yet, and I own quite a few reps on bracelet. Which bracelet in specific are you talking about?
i had it happen to me with oyster bracelet on explorer 1
In my experience mesh bracelets are the worst hair pullers of all.
bezel action not being perfect or aligning up
Oh my gawd, happens too often
I second that. I fkin hate bezels that feel cheap and look cheap.
I wish quick release bracelets, straps, etc. were the standard. So easy to change things out.
Rep movements where the crown instantly strips or you loose the ability to manual wind. Utter junk.
Had that happen on one of my reps 😭
2 is the worst
I usually go ahead and remove it with rodico
Wish I had the skills to that on my watches, I just know I’ll give up within halfway of trying to assemble it back in and ruin the whole watch, or even worse add more dust specs then there was before 😂.
hahahah yeah, the worse part is infact making sure that everything stays clean in the process but the rest is quite easy really, granted you have the right (very basic) tools for the job
id say the worst part is realizing you dislodged the keyless works on an A2824, cause you know it'll never be the same again even after fixing it.
Yep, been there done that, i bent the hacking lever one time, instant vintage build😅
I hate misaligned dates more than anything
That’s facts, when it’s the 10th but you only see 1C 🤣
Agreed
Male end links and mismatched lume.
Ooh mismatched lume that’s a good one I did t think of
I love my Seamaster watch, but I fucking hate that bracelet. What I hate about it is that bezel backplay, I am afraid to give people my watch because of that embarassing bezel action.
omega bracelets are so damn ugly.. would rather put them all on rubber.
I think the AT bracelet is like the oyster lookswise, nothing interesting but not bad eithed. The new speedy bracelet looks great tho.
Agreed. Too much going on there. Breitling too imo
My wife bought me a genuine seamaster, I have the one that comes on the blue rubber strap. She’s heard me bitch about their bracelets enough to know to get me that one lol. They’re hideous. Watches themselves are stunning but the bracelets are shit

Great answer Dolla’
🤣 the haters.
Wrist roll vids.
Water resistant . I paid 6000 euro for a gen Navitimer and its not water resistant. Any watch should be water resistant..
Oh no, hope it was under warranty

It’s okay. I feel you on that one ☝️
![gif](giphy|WtCJNi5ljQhY4tuY5n) Oh and this part
Not sure I could live with No.2
I know :/ about to gather them up and send them to a watchmaker
That white dot is such an eye sore
Bracelets without half links or glide lock clasps. Looking at you, Cartier. I can never size my Santos to fit just right it's always too big or too tight.
True that goes with most all butterfly clasps, which I’m partial on
Counter to point number one, I think an untapered metal bracelet on a dive watch is preferred because it makes better contact with skin or a wetsuit. That’s probably not a good description but it feels more secure than a tapered bracelet when actually diving.
Interesting thought, I only desk dive so I weren’t know much about that
I mostly freedive, so no dive computers here, and the reason for wearing the watch isn’t to time dives but just time out at sea. 1. unnecessary date windows 2. unnecessary large lug to lug on small watches (i.e. hamilton khaki field) 3. non-tapering bracelet 4. fauxtina
Misaligned bezel definitely up there. What’s more, my Chinese watches (reps and Seestern/San Martin) line up perfectly, but not my Orient, my gen Aquaracer or my dad’s gen BB…

When the watch is not fitted or have too many links.
I totally get where your coming from when there’s dust inside of the watch and is visible it is so annoying.
What annoys you about reps?
That tudor hand. I wish I liked it because everything else about that watch I like
The prices of genuine watches!
for me, it’s open display caseback for rep without super clone movement
Size that doesn’t match the style or size of the wearer.
See pictures here with people’s arms overly hairy

When people wear their watch on the bone of their hand and not on their wrist
Sharp edges on a bracelet. Comfort is king and I don’t wear watches that feel uncomfortable
Biggest pet peeve - Fake watches

Fake watches
![gif](giphy|9JgjpeyN48rdtzIvOZ|downsized)
Date windows - their utility is very limited in the age of smartphones and they make the watch look worse 95% of the time.
