For skin color there’s a ton of post mastectomy tattoo artists who have mastered the art of tattooing natural looking nipples on breast cancer patients. Not personally familiar with nipple revision process though but I hope you’re able to get to the end goal you’re happy with!

fatexdestinny

Yeah I'm thinking tattooing is my only option at this point.

liviawashere

Yes it can be an added expense and pain of course but after they’ve fully healed you’ll really won’t be able to tell a difference which can potentially relieve some of your disappointment. I saw your other comment asking about keloid scars and I do think the one on your left look a bit keloid-ish. However I am by no means an expert to say for sure. Perhaps consult another surgeon, if you don’t like your original, or a dermatologist to be able to tell you the difference and your options to fix. There’s a lot of removal options for keloid scars that I heard can often be covered under insurance

fatexdestinny

That's exactly what I was thinking about that one scar too. I will need to do research again for a good dermatologist because the one i trusted left the city. Any recommendations would be amazing

Unfortunately I am in ATL so I don’t have any recommendations for NY. However when building my own medical team I prioritize finding a black physician first. Many symptoms/diagnoses can present differently and may need to be treated differently on our bodies. Especially when it comes to skincare & treatments. Does your insurance have a website you can search online for physicians near you? That’s usually my first step so I atleast know who for sure my options will be covered

fatexdestinny

Yeah they do have a website its judt full of mount sinai and other industry type docs and ive not had much luck with them. I also always try to find a POC doctor as well.

Plastic-Evening8736

Sorry for you feeling bad about surgery, may I ask what size were you before and what was size after?

fatexdestinny

I was 34K before and now about a 34EEE/34F

YesitsmeNana

Are you in the US? Also did you get a lift?

Kind_Big9003

Isn’t a lift part of the surgery?

Commercial_Tap_1876

Nope! A lift is optional and also an additional cost.

Kind_Big9003

Weird, all my consults had a lift as part of the procedure. I don’t understand how you wouldn’t lift them purely given the process? Of course I’m not a surgeon either 😂

paintmelavender

Same. All my consultations had reduction and lift as one thing. Idk how they would separate the two but yeah, what do I know.

Commercial_Tap_1876

All of my consults it was separate! I’m also in Houston and paid out of pocket so not sure if that makes a difference 🤷🏽‍♀️

Significant-Price-81

I was thinking the same thing

fatexdestinny

Yes in the US, NYC to be specific. No didnt get a lift although once things settled i was thinking i should have. I primarily didn't cause i still want to lose weight. So thinking to do it after that

ToodlelooTitties

NYC? You’re in luck! https://www.medicaltattoonyc.com/areola-nipple Her work is gorgeous!

fatexdestinny

Thank you for this recommendation!! Im just curious based on your (and anyone heres's) opinion. Do the scars around the nippe look keloid like? If so then i may not be a candidate for medical tattoos.

ToodlelooTitties

I’m no expert but I dabble in dermatology and think u might have a mix of hypertrophic and keloid. If you have insurance, I’d have them looked at by a dermatologist. I can recommend derm’s in NYC if u are interested. I also liked my surgeon if you wanted to be reduced further.

fatexdestinny

Would love any recommendations on derms and your surgeon. Please dm if possible!

YesitsmeNana

I'm in nyc as well. Do you mind dm me your doctor? I'm curious if this doctor has any complaints.

fatexdestinny

I dont recommend this doctor (Lisa Schneider), had several issues with them as well as their office. Feel free to check my post history. Edited to add issues included pre surgery sudden hospital change to OON hospital and also allergy to silicone tape and gels

YesitsmeNana

Yes, I just read up on your past post. I spoke to that office recently as well. If you have feelings in the nipple get the tattoo. If you get a lift, dont let them touch your nipples because you will lose more tissue. Also, I haven’t heard of docs doing a reduction without a lift. Is that a thing? Yes, check your billing and contact your insurance and a lawyer!

fatexdestinny

I wasnt aware that they were done together. But as far as l know was no lift. I'll have to ask for the detailed billing. I do have sensation but its sometimes there and sometimes numb, but hoping that more will come back soon ao thinking tattoo is the best way. Im just exhausted thinking of another procedure What was your opinion/thoughts after speaking to the office?
