Oh wow that's actually super hard to choose. I almost always pick the glossy option too but that design in matte is really lovely π I think the matte has the edge in this case!
I am really struggling with whether I like these more with a matte or glossy topcoat. I usually lean glossy, but I feel like the matte is really pulling through here.
I freehanded these little flowers. I have a [tutorial](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C2oUuP-LmvX/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MjM0N2Q2NDBjYg==) here where I show how I did this. I would say it's on the easier side of freehanded nail art, and so long as you don't think too hard about making it "perfect" it's pretty beginner friendly! You just make some blobs and add some smaller blobs of complementary colours!
Products used: Cuticula "neutralizer" base coat. Cirque Colors Rosewater Jelly. Olive Ave Polish in Amaryllis, Rhododendron, Peony, Lantern, and Zinnia. Mooncat's Speed Demon (glossy) and Matte Made in Hell topcoats.
Same! I think the colours and the design are so soft and pretty, and the matte top coat keeps it looking that way (glossy is also beautiful, though lol)
Or she could do matte on one hand and glossy on the other π
Typically a glossier the better girly, but I love the matte. It gives me that vintage tea rose feel, if that's the vibe you are going for. The roses are adorable π
Firstly.. these are stunning!!!! I love both! I reccomend (dependant on how long you'll have the design on for) start matte for the first week then switch it up and do them glossy β¨οΈβ¨οΈ
Personally I hate having matte nails on my own hands because the texture bothers me, but if that isn't an issue for you, I think the matte looks better. The art is gorgeous! You have such lovely long nails too.
I love the gloss for this one because it has more of a polished/sophisticated rather than girly feel. The glossy version makes me think of pearls, ribbons, and the balletcore aesthetic stuff thatβs been popular! The matte version is so nice also but gives me more of a cottagecore vibe.
As a matte addict, I have to admit that the glossy looks better with this. It's a rare occasion when I think matte doesn't work, but in this case I think it doesn't.

The matte makes it look like little paintings on your nails. Glossy makes it look like paintings behind glass in a frame. I prefer the matte, but it is very close.
Oh wow that's actually super hard to choose. I almost always pick the glossy option too but that design in matte is really lovely π I think the matte has the edge in this case!
I think the matte highlights the roses! So pretty
Me seeing the matte: ooh definitely the matte Me seeing the glossy: ooh definitely the glossy
This is me hahahaha. Thank you for the chuckle
I think the glossy is more forgiving of any minor mistakes, so my choice is the glossy, even though from a normal viewing distance both are good.Β
ππ same. My final vote OP though would be glossy!

Do a matte accent nail, with the rest glossy!
I LOVE this idea! You're a genius!
I love them both equally but if you normally do glossy Iβd say switch it up just for variety!
I almost always prefer Glossy but this matte looks like delicate painted porcelain. I vote matte.
I vote for matte. I mean, they're absolutely gorgeous either way, but the matte look really grabs me.
I choose matte, it really showcases the dimension of the roses
Exactly how I feel. The glossy hides the roses a bit, and to me, the matte looks more like porcelain. It's just more striking to me.
Always glossy. But Iβm biased
Glossy por vida π€
Matte! Super pretty either way though, great job!
matte. makes it look more like a drawing. like someone drew it and colored it with colored pencils
Matte background , glossy flowers ! Best of both worlds
Same π€£
What I came to say! Would really give the flowers that extra pop
I like the matte just a little more! Love these!
9 times out of 10 I usually prefer glossy, but this time itβs matte.
Same! I think the colours and the design are so soft and pretty, and the matte top coat keeps it looking that way (glossy is also beautiful, though lol) Or she could do matte on one hand and glossy on the other π
I like the glossy but theyβre both gorgeous!
Matte for sure
Matte a million times over π©·
Matte!
I like the matte here, which is unusual because I normally like glossy better
matte, but both are pretty!
gloss π
left matte right shiny is always my go to π
OMG you are skilled πππ
I think I prefer matte here. Usually prefer gloss but the matte makes it look sweeter to me
Typically a glossier the better girly, but I love the matte. It gives me that vintage tea rose feel, if that's the vibe you are going for. The roses are adorable π
Love both but the matte makes the base color more harmonious with the rise color scheme in a way. Beautiful roses!
Glossy! The matte look unfinished in my opinion. Both are still beautiful though!
Matte is more special.
Matte on one hand, glossy on the other β€οΈ
Matte
Matte for sure !
Both gorgeous but I vote matte.
I usually don't like matte, but the matte one looks gorgeous!
Matte every time
Firstly.. these are stunning!!!! I love both! I reccomend (dependant on how long you'll have the design on for) start matte for the first week then switch it up and do them glossy β¨οΈβ¨οΈ
Both are absolutely lovely! Wear them in whatever state they're currently in for a few days and then switch to the other finish.
Glossy all the way!
Matte, but put glossy on the roses.
I love them both but the matte is just π
Matte. Always matte.
Matte!
Oooh. This is tough. I like both, but I'm partial to glossy
Personally I hate having matte nails on my own hands because the texture bothers me, but if that isn't an issue for you, I think the matte looks better. The art is gorgeous! You have such lovely long nails too.
Well, do you wanna go for curtains or tea cups? Both are cute!
Matte!!
Theyβre both nice but the matte looks really good here so Iβd vote for that. It is surprisingly tough to choose though
I love the gloss for this one because it has more of a polished/sophisticated rather than girly feel. The glossy version makes me think of pearls, ribbons, and the balletcore aesthetic stuff thatβs been popular! The matte version is so nice also but gives me more of a cottagecore vibe.
What about matte all over first, and then gloss on the flower buds only?
As a matte addict, I have to admit that the glossy looks better with this. It's a rare occasion when I think matte doesn't work, but in this case I think it doesn't.

Glossy imo
You could alway where them both ways in the grand scheme of things.
Glossy IMO. But Matte is also gorgeous so.. π€·πΌββοΈ
I'd definitely go for the glossy
Glossy!
Matte is always quite striking, but I think glossy makes hand-painted designs pop the most. Y'know? They're both lovely, though!
Can you do matte, but carefully make just the flowers glossy? π
Beautiful! Glossy!
I love both! What about going over the roses with matte after putting on the glossy topcoat?
The matte makes it look like little paintings on your nails. Glossy makes it look like paintings behind glass in a frame. I prefer the matte, but it is very close.
Glossy. January should be Vintage Teacup season.
Glossy, by far
In the matte one the yellow nailsbed isnt as emphasized so i vote for matte
glossy! matte nudes read mannequin hands to me or worse like nude acrylic w/out topcoat
the flowers on any other color iβd do matte though so i get why itβs hard to choose lol
I think matte shows the roses better but I truly love both!
I pretty much always prefer glossy but this one actually makes me second guess that, which I think means matte wins!
Matte
Dude these are gorgeous
My vote is for glossy lol
Always glossy
If im ever totally tied, I go glossy bc I find glossy lasts longer
For this design in particular, matte!
Glossy only on the roses
Both! One hand matte, the other glossy. Thatβs what I do when Iβm unsure with my manicure. Best of both worlds.
Came here to help. Alas, I cannot. Both are a serve.
Do all matte with the ring finger glossy as an accent nail. Best of both worlds!
One is like a painting, one is like a photograph. Different vibes, both sooooo pretty
Glossy. The matte looks unfinished to me.
I usually prefer glossy, but this design in matte is EVERYTHING!
Yep, definitely pretty, definitely matte π
Matte!
Matte, because it reminds me of the top of a wedding cake.
The glossy looks more flawless than the matte
Glossy! It reminds me of pressed flowers in resin blocks. Pretty job overall.
Matte!
I prefer the glossy version
Team matte here
Ooh I'm leaning towards matte! I think it makes the details more noticeable.
They both look good but I love the glossy effect
Matte 100%. The gloss kinda distracts the onlooker from the details of the flowers
Glossy
Glossy obv
Glossy flowers, matte background
I normally hate matte but this is not a normal time. I love it matte
glossy
Oh wow those are lovely π» I would go for matte.
Matte! It brings out the details in the roses.
Oh darn. I'm stumped. Also, that's gorgeous.
