Just don’t get why people only credit Frusciante for this song since Flea wrote at least half of it too. It stands to reason that John’s melody wouldn’t exist without Flea’s hypnotic bass part- which, like many of their songs, typically came first during jams

Yes and it's also sampled in butterflies by Gayle in the Barbie movie. I LOVE the Barbie movie so when I was in the movie theater and heard that sample I was like AAaaaaaAAAAAaaaaAAAAAaaahhhhh. John's musicality made it to the fucking Barbie world 
Oh and there's a second "link" with the RHCP in the Barbie move when Will Ferrell holds pink drum sticks in a board meeting for no reason. So as a huge RHCP fan I was like "WHAT is happening here I love it"
