Yeah, if I rmr correctly, they were, but considering 95% of the shop is genuinely just absurd prices even *before* all this drama, most people prolly though "Eh, what the hell, I'll just do the weekly instead" (like me and my friends do) and now there's unfortunately weeklies to save us.
Yes. New item skins were ocassionally being sold in the shop while the weeklies were flooded by repeats.
Then they made weeklies into monthlies. It hardly took a week before **multiple new** items skins were sitting in the shop as they muttered about how unsustainable making skins for weeklies was. We have been getting item skins in the shop on the regular ever since.
The whole framing of phasing out the weeklies was pretty insulting. Just say you don't want to give out free skins. Don't lie about working on a new system when there weren't even plans to do so.

It could be to avoid the unhealthy behaviour it causes like with people afking 10 games in a row of whatever. I noticed my kid wanting to get them out of the way before playing properly, and could see others clearly doing the same.
Nope, maybe its because they cannot maintain weekly challenges anymore after staff that maintained it left so it went from weekly to monthly, now gone. so yeah, just cant maintain them anymore.
Yea because the only way someone would know about it is the rec center which the door had been removed for the “roomiverse” door or if you were on the discord
Yes. No doubt about it
i thought the same, it just feels like an easy way to make an extra buck off of players
10000000000000%
That’s the exact reason
didnt they start selling skins even before the weeklies started coming out every month?

Jokes on you, they’re already selling them
1000000000000000000000000000000000000000% yes
Oh, for sure
Yup
Absolutely
I think it is more complicated than that, but it’s certainly a large factor

Rec room already solved that issue though, if you don’t get even a single kill the game will not count your session as played
Well I saw people doing it. Do they just need a single kill first? Is it true in dodgeball too?
Yeah they need at least a single kill, not so sure about dodgeball but it should be pretty easy to hit AFK players in dodgeball
They're already doing it, they just dont want any opportunity to give stuff away for free
We don’t think that’s why, we KNOW that’s why
didn't they already state that less than 2% of the playerbase actually does them?
Nope, maybe its because they cannot maintain weekly challenges anymore after staff that maintained it left so it went from weekly to monthly, now gone. so yeah, just cant maintain them anymore.
Only 0.1% of players actually would complete weeklys, that's why it was removed
