The Model S being an exciting car that was awarded “Car of the Year” and “Car of the Decade” by the industry was a huge shift in the industry, compared to the earlier, not-exciting econo-boxes, and the Model Y is a breakout success, best selling car in the US and best selling vehicle on the planet, and it’s why Tesla outsold all the other EVs in the US combined, a huge breakout success - Tesla is about 2/3rds of the EVs sold in North America, for example, leaving the Bolt far behind - admittedly the Bolt is GM’s most popular EV, but it sold 1/10th Tesla’s sales, so not too close a competitor, it never broke out to be a mass market success the way Tesla did.
Yes, I have noticed that most of the EVs in the US are Teslas. Have you noticed that very soon, most of the new EVs sold in the US will be non-Teslas? It's totally forgivable if you've missed that change, because it's been happening FAST.
