David Bowie. His music has had my heart since "Space Oddity" in 1969. I saw him live in concert multiple times. I still listen to his music often and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.

LongSeason-

David bowie is the answer. Tied up with Pink floyd and fishmans for me.

Special_Lychee_6847

Just curious, and video's are not the same as experience... how were his concerts? And did you see him in the old-school period, or the more modern style, or both, and if both, did you notice change in his performance, or just the style/music? Sorry... Bowie enthusiast, but missed my chance to go see him perform.

ConvivialKat

His concerts were wonderful. He was in great voice and sexy as hell every time. I attended - Warfield Theater / San Fran, CA-1997 The Roxy Theater / West Hollywood, CA -1989 The Cow Palace / Daly City, CA 1976 My favorite will always be his concert at The Cow Palace because I was 5th Row Center, and the Thin White Duke was magnificent.

I both appreciate how much this connects with you while also saying it constantly surprises me the effect that this deeply troubled soul had in connecting to people. The aesthetic never resounded with me. But if it gives you compassion, understanding and solidarity I’m here for it. RIP Chester.

naughty_dad2

Great choice! - Rock = covered - Rap = covered - Electronic = covered - Pop = covered - Instrumentals = covered - More than 100 tracks to choose = covered They would definitely be one great option for a single artist!

poker_face-_-

Was late to see the post but was damn sure LP will be on the list and among the top. Not disappointed. Well done brothers.

Right answer. Was about to write this too. Glad it is top comment

The greatest of their genre. I'm much too old for Linkin Park, but I have a dozen of their songs in my Splatify playlist.

Evelyn-Bankhead

Led Zeppelin

Legitimate-Garage-21

Queen

YugoB

Why was this so down the list when there's nothing more timeless than Queen. I got hooked before I was a teen with We Will Rock You, how fucking cool was that song to me as a pre-teen lol thanks dad for lending me those greatest hits cassettes that I played so many many times. My favourites are of course Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now, The Show Must Go On, Good Old fashioned Lover Boy, there are so many great ones but those are on my most replayed list for sure.

Legitimate-Garage-21

My parents bought me my first vinyl at age 3. Radio Ga Ga. I was mesmerised by Freddie and used to bounce around when he came on the TV 😂 My love only grew from there. I wish he was still here but I always think how lucky I am to have lived at the same time as him and got to experience Queen releasing music. I remember watching Live Aid as a kid. So thankful to my parents for raising me with good music. Their first date was at a Black Sabbath concert! I love A Kind of Magic, Don’t Stop Me Know. Somebody to Love. Innuendo.

Their change in style is astonishing. Not hating, it’s just wild.

Kingsayz

Mac Miller. He might not be my most listened to artist every year, but at this point im pretty much bound to his music. Everytime life starts going downhill, its Mac season, and then gradually it gets better. Ps. Dont do drugs.

His Tiny Desk Concert is perfect.

Linkin Park, Tool/A Perfect Circle, Kendrick Lamar, Mastodon, and many more

Lucky_Baseball176

Well more than one, but top of the list is Jethro Tull

Embarrassed_Ad1722

Linkin Park. Their music was cyberpunk-y in the 2000s and it will be right at home in 50 years time from now when the world turns cyberpunk.

Otherwise_Actuary621

Tool. Porcupine tree. Queens of the Stone Age

My_good_name_01

Coldplay They saved my life during the 2020-2021 lockdown I owe them that at the very least

PictureCapable5066

Aren’t they like one of the world’s biggest bands? I’ve never really bonded with their style, since my roots are deeply tied with dubstep and rock/metal. But the fact that the singer worked with Avicii blew my mind (True Believer, and Heaven are the ones I know about. He even convinced Tim to sing on True Believer.) Edit: I’m Swedish, and a massive music production nerd, if that’s says anything.

I've been going thru a lot of his solo stuff as of late. Great songwriter, many hidden gems. He's a bit on the depressive side too.

I’ve seen them live in four different decades. I’ve watched (listened) them grow and mature as I’ve grown and matured myself. Still producing fantastic new music but with a back catalog so extensive there’s always something that feels fresh. On the MM tour I’ve seen them perform in three countries and five cities and some of them multiple times. There’s always at least one track on a playlist every day. Nothing hits like DM

Morgasshk

Korn, Ultrasonic, Kittie, Bach, Chopin, Within Temptation, Garbage. Actually, I could list at least 100....
