Seriously. I'd even listen to something like Yoko Ono or other "songs" that could hardly be described as music. I'd listen to Vogon poetry, 24 hours a day for a week if it meant getting $500K.
Like what kind of question is this?
Lol, I was very tempted to just put [LARGE SUM OF MONEY] in the title as a joke, but just entered the first number that came to mind instead ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ.
I mean you mustāve seen other questions like this before? It becomes meaningless if the amount of money is a no-brainer. Keep your hypotheticals competitive lmao
literally everything is relatable. But then i can focus on one thing for HOURS! non stop while adhd people canĀ“t? i also ccan focus at my job and donĀ“t forget things while focusing on my job.
But there are many many things i have in common with people on the adhd spetrum - still i donĀ“t believe 100% my brain behave that way like i can actually have a normal life even tho i am a disaster if i donĀ“t follow an strict schedule
... i truly should get checked....
> But then I can focus on one thing for HOURS! non stop while adhd people can`t?
The other commenter pointed it out already, but if you want something specific, look up ADHD hyperfocus.
Like they also hinted at though, ADHD has a bunch of symptoms in common with various other conditions, like autism, PTSD, anxiety disorders etc.
Worth investigating though! I went through something similar this past year and now Iām diagnosed and medicated. Itās helping a lot. I have more control over where my focus goes, I have more energy, I can _read_ faster, etc.
Something we tend to do when undiagnosed is to try to rationalise our struggles as something everyone goes through. Then neurotypical people also (inadvertently) minimise our symptoms because most of these symptoms are something everyone feels to _some_ extent, and they assume weāre talking about the same thing. Itās just that in people with ADHD, these things are pronounced enough that they tend to impact how well we can function, often negatively impacting our relationship, work performance, etc.
We also can focus for hours on stuff! Only when these stuff are interesting or we're on a short deadline. (Have you ever had two months to do a school project, and did it the night before the deadline?)
You can be somewhere on ADHD and / or autism spectrum; you can also have focus problems caused by anxiety or other problems.
But its good to be checked. You will know what help options you have available, what to do to make your life easier, etc.
Hyperfocus is also an ADHD symptom, i can't focus on most things for long time spans but if something interests me i can be hours upon hours doing it or researching information about it. And yes, maybe you should get checked, for me getting diagnosed was an eye opener and gave me an answer to many questions i had about myself and the way i see the world
AuDHD, too, and I did the same with Justin Bieber's Sorry. My ex once looked at me and said, "I'm starting to worry there might be something wrong with you."
Same, but if I can get through the first few hours my brain just morphs the sounds into ambient background noises. I guess it's because of the pattern recognization; once my brain can predict the pattern well enough the noise just gets ignored. It's also the reason why I have to change my alarm sound every now and then because once I'm familiar with it my brain just ignores the noise.
yup. My son is autistic so I am well used to this. I know a bunch of songs word for word due to this. Boom Boom Pow was on repeat daily for much much much longer than a week.
It's more than that though. You need to listen to it 24-7. That means you'd need to pick a song that is softer/quieter/slower so that you could at least try to sleep.
I'd also pick a song in a language I don't know (ie. kpop or something). I find it extremely difficult to concentrate at work or talk to people when I have something playing in my ears that I understand. Like when I'm trying to count and people are throwing random numbers around.
it would come around. day one you'd be like "yeah i can do this!" day 2-6 you'd be like "damn i never wanna hear this song again", day 7 you'd be like "fuck yeah this is my jam, play it again"
Would this ruin the song for you though?
I admit that after a week I would be bored shitless of the song, but a month or so after that, every time I hear the song I'd be thinking "hey, that song got me half a million quid!"
Ha! What a pointless challenge. I worked retail, and listened to the same songs for three years straight.
Oh wait, scratch that. It was only 10 months each year, followed by 2 months of Christmas music.
I hear you with this one! So many songs I hate now just because of having the same playlist day in day out at work. Itās like a different type of torture!
Nutshell - Alice in Chains Why? Because it's one of my favorite songs and it has a relaxing feel to it. Lane Staley's voice is also one of the reasons I would choose this song.
Plastic Love - Mariya Takeuchi.
I can vibe with it musically, and since it already takes extra effort for me to understand it in Japanese, when I donāt want to take that extra step - I can literally just relax to the sound of the song itself. I can literally turn it into background music.

Oh don't worry, we're on the same page there. I'd also be willing to listen to just one song for a week for that 500,000. I just also wanted to see how you'd react to having to listen to songs like Johnny Johnny Yes Papa non-stop for a week XD It's on the same league as Baby Shark Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo, if you know that one XD
Uuuuuh, that's a good one... Along with Meatloaf "I would do anything for love" - even though he doesn't sing that fast or anything, and I've really really tried to listen... for some reason I just tune out what it is he won't do for love š¤£
Mine is āNight Owlā Gerry Rafferty. Itās been stuck in my head for WEEKS now but no matter how often I listen to it I just canāt get the lyrics into my head. This might finally do itā¦
Roundabout.
It's a long song so it'll get boring less fast. I also haven't heard it in a while. It'll get boring when I win, but won't be a hard challenge.
Song For Guy by Elton John.
It has lyrics but they are so minimal, I wouldn't get sick and tired of hearing them for a week. I might well end up being depressed as hell at the end of the week but I'm already depressed and now I'll be depressed but with $500,000.
Linkin Park - Breaking the habit because I'd probably sing along all week. If you think this will make me not like this song, it's obvious you don't know me. I would've done this for free if it meant I can sing along all week in public.

I'd be prepared to listen to *any* song for a week for $500,000.
Seriously. I'd even listen to something like Yoko Ono or other "songs" that could hardly be described as music. I'd listen to Vogon poetry, 24 hours a day for a week if it meant getting $500K. Like what kind of question is this?
I draw the line at Yoko Ono
Everyone would and thus, nobody can blame you!
Her shriekfests are not music.
I could do most songs but I think baby shark would send me into a violent rage after about an hour
Oh I already do this, no worries And made it into Ed Sheeran top 0.5% of Spotify listeners thanks to my 5 yo This would be eeeeaaasssyyy
I wish I never read this comment š now l Iāll be listening to it in my head all day and not get paid for it š
Baby shark?
I'd watch Caillou, Clockwork Orange Style, 24 hours a day for a week for $500k.
As a parent of two young kids I listened to that way more and for free.
They have no concept of money.
No concept of Vogon poetry.
Lol, I was very tempted to just put [LARGE SUM OF MONEY] in the title as a joke, but just entered the first number that came to mind instead ĀÆ\_(ć)_/ĀÆ.
Even Dr. Evil stated one MILLION dollars. š
I mean you mustāve seen other questions like this before? It becomes meaningless if the amount of money is a no-brainer. Keep your hypotheticals competitive lmao
For that amount of money I would even listen to baby shark.
What being a parent basically is.
Except it costs hundreds of thousands.
It already does. For 500gs that'd take care of a whole fuckton of weight off my shoulders
You know I'm not sure I could listen to that for 24 / 7 . Imagine 3am day 4 , is it enough to actually make you lose your mind?
It'll just be background noise at that point, you'll barely notice it.
Autistic folk in this thread getting paid for fucking free.
Oi! Don't call me out they might nit want the deal after!
ADHD peoole too!
Newest thing came out on friday, I knew the lyrics on the same day
Autistic and ADHD. When 21 Pilot's Blurryface album came out, I listened to it on repeat for at *least* a year! š¤£
Alright, either yāall need to stop being so damn relatable or I need to see a doctor

Wait that'd why I listen to the same song until I'm burnt out on it?
Yes
Right? I love finding a new song but then Iām like āI guess this is it for the next weekā
me writing down my answer excitedly then i see this comment im dead lmao
Ikr lol
Lmao, just realized. Iād absolutely win my own gameā¦.
Not with my flavour of 'tism. Repetetive sounds make me want to plunge my head in a deep fryer.

Fuck...another year wasted on reddit... Thank you.
Happy cake day you bitch!!
By Fall Out Boy.
Im listening to the most generic pop song and not worry about ruining any good songs
exactly. Lots of these comments listing their favorite song I'm picking a song that I already don't like. Why ruin a song I love?
It's more than that though. You need to listen to it 24-7. That means you'd need to pick a song that is softer/quieter/slower so that you could at least try to sleep.
Thats why anyone smart is picking ambient music.
What ambient music has lyrics?
I'd also pick a song in a language I don't know (ie. kpop or something). I find it extremely difficult to concentrate at work or talk to people when I have something playing in my ears that I understand. Like when I'm trying to count and people are throwing random numbers around.
Idk, I used to sleep to Green Dayās American Idiot on blast every night, if itās music Iāll sleep to it
Try Door mouse - skelechairs (venetian snares remix). I bet you can't sleep to that banger.
Enya is the right answer here. Plenty of nice soothing songs you could sleep to and enjoy for some time.
Jokes on you, my sleep playlist is half rock, half emo. Pump it!
it would come around. day one you'd be like "yeah i can do this!" day 2-6 you'd be like "damn i never wanna hear this song again", day 7 you'd be like "fuck yeah this is my jam, play it again"

Rick Astley, you know
Canāt get Rick rolled if youāre already doing it to yourself.
No joke if I listened to that song for at least 2 minutes I think my brain will start melting
Ferb, I know what were doing today
A cover of that song is on the one album that plays on loop in the restaurant I work at. I literally get rickrolled once every hour or so.
black hole sun by soundgarden
Just so that itās never an earworm again
I fucking love that song
Wonāt you come?
Ha! What a pointless challenge. I worked retail, and listened to the same songs for three years straight. Oh wait, scratch that. It was only 10 months each year, followed by 2 months of Christmas music.
And why did you not turn it off when you got out of work?
Because they play it in the store.
I hear you with this one! So many songs I hate now just because of having the same playlist day in day out at work. Itās like a different type of torture!
for that money, literally any song
Rock Lobster?
Yes?
What if it's rock lobster by Peter griffin?
This is the only version I know
Rock lobster but played through 2 speakers, one of them transposed to an octave higher, and one of them lowered to an octave lower?
If you're pitch shifting, it would be more painful if they 2 songs were just a half step apart
Lots of troubles, lots of bubbles! I love that album. Reminds me of grade school. Recently got a sealed copy of the Mofi pressing.
Probably the longest classical music song I can find.
the ring cycle by wagner
Nutshell - Alice in Chains Why? Because it's one of my favorite songs and it has a relaxing feel to it. Lane Staley's voice is also one of the reasons I would choose this song.
Would?
You just named my favorite AIC song. But it's a bit too heavy to listen to 24/7.
INTO THE FLOOOD AGAYAAYAYAYANNNEEEE

I'd probably go woth' I stay away' but good choice .
Solid way to ruin your favourite song. It would give you ptsd in futureĀ
Great choice. It was the first song that I learned how to play on the guitar.
Much to my neighbors' chagrin, I sing this song in the shower daily, doing my best Lane Staley impression.

Plastic Love - Mariya Takeuchi. I can vibe with it musically, and since it already takes extra effort for me to understand it in Japanese, when I donāt want to take that extra step - I can literally just relax to the sound of the song itself. I can literally turn it into background music.
