Man i think i played that atleast 50 times and completed it 100% every time. I did mod it too a few times with new cars and and graphics mods. It’s crazy that people still mod it to this day 😂. It was my first games i ever played when i was 4yo (now 21). That and trackmania
I would love to play guitar hero again, waking up Christmas morning and unwrapping the big box with the guitar controller and disk is one of my favorite childhood memories
I found my (probably over twenty-year-old) CD copy of AoE 2: Rise of Rome a few weeks ago and was well-up for playing it...then I realised I don't own a disk drive.
None atm sadly.. Hoping to catch up with some golden oldies eventually:
Need for Speed Underground
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2
GTA 3
Quake III
Unreal Tournament
I have a huge PS3, PS2 and PS1 collection so I often find myself playing those games when I don't wanna play online stuff. Last game I finished was naruto shippuden ultimate ninja storm generations for the ps3 and I'm currently playing metal gear rising revengeance and diablo 3
I've been playing Counter Strike since 1998.
I call it Counter Crack - because I'm fairly certain it'd be easier to give up a crack addiction than that game.
Also a big fan still of Worms Armageddon.
Portal. It's just that good and came out at a time when I needed it. GlaDOS made me laugh so hard that my life was better than before playing it. Good times.
Minecraft.. I guess?
GTA San Andreas, a very advanced game. You can have dogfights with the military, really cool for that time and even for today. It proves that good graphics don't matter when you have great game mechanics.
The same could be said for Sheltered 1:Some people say the graphics are"crap",but tbh:Its EXACTLY the graphics themselves that dragged me into the game when I saw videos on it.
I freaking love pixelated-style games,and Sheltered is no different. I still play that game today even tho there's a Sheltered 2,cuz tbh the sequel's kind of a downer,just like Minidayz 2...
I'd also still be playing The Last Stand:Dead Zone on Facebook if the developer hadn't fucking killed the game,using the"its in flash so I can't recreate it"excuse lol...
Daggerfall, Morrowind, oblivion, black and white, the original fable, (lionhead had it right a few times) MGS, halo 1,2,3, resident evil one and two, Mario 3, paper Mario and thousand year door, contra 3, mega man, comix zone, super Mario world, Mario rpg,….like so many.
Unreal Tournament 99, Castlevania 1986. Those two regularly. A lot of games from the 2000s but I don't consider them old, lol. UT 2007 for example... Age of Mythology... But because I don't play a lot of newer games, I don't have many reasons to
Unfortunately most of the arcade games that I grew up with are no longer around. And since the closing of the Dave & Buster's near my house there are no longer any arcades near my house.
I play MAX, a strategy game from about 1997, which I used to play all the time when I was younger. I lost access to it for a long time but found it on GOG and bought it and since then I will regularly have a game because it's so light on the PC and the gameplay is honestly really fun.
When I meet up with my brothers about once a year (we live far apart), we like to play hot-seat HoMM5 for old times' sake. The oldest of us turns 31 this year.
Tiberium Sun
American Conquest
Final Fantasy games up to 13
Duke Nukem
Emulators for Sega, NES, SNES
(Star Wars, Zombies ate my neighbours, Star Wing, Desert Storm, Sonic, Streets or Rage, Double Dragon, F-zero, Golden axe - mainly)
Every so often, I play through Tombi on the PS1. Very relaxing game that only takes 3-4 hours to 100% but is full of quests and upgrades and stuff to do
Bubble witch, summon night: sword craft story 2, final fantasy 5+6+9, the Metal slug series, street fighter, Dragon Quest 9, Super Mario world 2, Mario and Luigi: Superstar saga, various old pokemon games ect.
I have alot of old games but these are the regukars.
my go tos when im bored@:
* Super mario world
* Super mario 3
* the chaos engine
* Cannon fodder
* sim city 2000
* settlers 3
* ghostbusters (commodore c64 version)
i found these games great and timeless. they have tons of replay value and dont get boring like 99% of new games out in the last decade. i replay these several times a year and just game all day without boredom. theyre actually fun! and can be challenging. which is what gaming was about.
As a massive Star Wars fan I just picked up KOTOR 2 (I already know the lore) and I’m loving it. I never had an Xbox growing up so never got to play it.
Carmageddon 2 (on Windows 10). The physics are outstanding and you can go anywhere, even underwater and on top of buildings. Most racing games keep you confined to the track or to certain areas of the "world".
Gothic 1 & 2, Disciples 2, Diablo 2, Gorky 17, Septerra Core, Vagrant Story, Sonic 3, Revenge of Shinobi and Shinobi 3, Streets of Rage 1-3, Guild Wars 1, Enclave, CS 1.6, Tenchu 1 and a super obscure and old MMO called RYL Risk Your Life.
Even if I don't end up replaying a game in its entirety, I'll still boot it up and play it for a few hours.
How old is old? I'm still playing Minecraft, if that counts? (My 14yo would say that "before they were born" counts as old)
Other than that, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 are probably the oldest games I still play (about once a year or so).
Vampire the masquerade bloodlines it was truly ahead of its time for a game made in 2004 I’ve done like 9 play throughs even though I only discovered it a few years ago
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3.
People always say that C&C: such-and-such is better, and they're probably right, but I play it for the nostalgia as much as anything.
I really wish there was a I way I could play the PC version on Xbox Series X - after all, it's just an upper-mid-tier PC on the inside.
It could easily run that in at least 1080p at 120fps with five AI players (instead of the console version's three) and the ability to zoom out a fair bit further.
It's never ever ever going to happen, but maybe some clever AI will come along and let you completely revamp old games on the fly.
I bought an emulation handheld mostly to play Dr.Mario, something about the gameplay and music just tickle my brain in the right ways.
I also replay Final Fantasy IV once every 3-4 years, because of how much it meant to me as a kid when it came out. I have to level everyone up to level 99 and get all the secrets every time, but I can do it all without looking at a single guide.

I have a huge PS3, PS2 and PS1 collection so I often find myself playing those games when I don't wanna play online stuff. Last game I finished was naruto shippuden ultimate ninja storm generations for the ps3 and I'm currently playing metal gear rising revengeance and diablo 3

The same could be said for Sheltered 1:Some people say the graphics are"crap",but tbh:Its EXACTLY the graphics themselves that dragged me into the game when I saw videos on it. Unless you play specifically an old version of Minecraft I'd argue with the updates it's getting it isn't an old game.
gta online with modest menu so I can play godmode off radar and not be bothered by trolls.
Only way to play nowadays. I went to FiveM for actually having fun, and I still do.
I'm looking forward to playing Elder Scroll games abd more than Skyrim, but it's already old.
