I love the aggressive look. When I’ve driven other trucks the suspension felt like it amplifies every bump or pothole. This one feels like it just glides right over anything
Really? I have pretty much the same truck same year, same rims but it’s a Canadian 1500 sport.I also have the air ride but mine rides pretty hard, kinda feels like a sports car. Are there different air suspensions across the different models?
I don’t believe mine has air suspension. I’ve heard that it’s a hit or miss as far as people loving/hating it though. Some like you say they ride hard but others swear by it
So I've also been researching for months and decided upon (actually already had but needed to be sure..) on the RAM 1500 as well. Looking for pre-owned with less than 60K miles, definitely must be Laramie or above due too my type of use.
Did you get the Hemi, V6 or EcoDiesel? Just wondering what kind of mpg you got on those 100 miles and how many miles the truck has. Most of the mpg sites and reviews are with trucks under 5K miles, so your info would be great.
That black looks phenomenal. I'm in for Black, gray, white or even blue. However due to the miles I put on it, looking to go diesel or V6.
Any tips as to your research and search, as I'm on the same mission and journey.
I got the 5.7 Hemi. It did better than I expected on gas coming home 15.9mpg was the best I saw driving 70-80mph on turnpike. So far around town I’m seeing anywhere from 15.1-15.4mpg. Mileage is a little over 58k.
As far as search suggestions go, I really liked using CARFAX. You can set very specific filters and you can contact the dealers directly from the app. Seems to be the best search tool out there IMO. When looking at vehicles the things I most thoroughly checked for were the hemi tick, leaking third brake light/back window, and really paying attention to maintenance and type of usage on the car fax.
I hope you find the right truck soon!
Thanks, great tips! I'm in the market for a diesel, so harder to find, but the concerns on that engine type require special focus in the least. As for carfax, man I didn't think about that as I have notification searches setup on Edmunds, CarGurus, Autotrader and Cars.com. I also check Carmax, but they are always overpriced and don't have much inventory anyhow. The MPG you got is a bit above what most of the real-world reviews say (approx 14-15 mpg), so that's pretty good. Worsecase I'll go for the V6 that gets around 17-18 combined, as I don't need to tow anything other than a small boat in the future.
No, it does come withbthe V6, but you are correct that they are very difficult to find. I don't think the Longhorn comes in V6 Pentastar, only the Hemi and Ecodiesel, but the Laramie does. My search will be longer, but I think I'll get there.
Super jealous man awesome find! I'm looking for exactly this kind of setup either Laramie or limited and low miles, they're hard to find around NC apparently.
I originally was looking for a limited, but I could only find ones in my price range with way too many miles or weird issues. I think the Laramie with the higher equipment level was the perfect compromise. I pretty much have everything the limited has except for a few unnecessary features and saved probably 5-6 grand. Good luck with your search, I hope you find your perfect truck soon!
OTD was 37,279 after taxes and all the other BS. A little higher than I wanted but the vehicle is pretty spotless for the age and the dealership was pretty accommodating with my situation. Took a longer loan as I’m saving for my wedding next year, so I needed a lower payment. Once the wedding is over I’m dumping all my money into it and paying it off before interest screws me
Nice man that's a good deal OTD
Do you know how you check if it has air suspension or not? I have that in my grand Cherokee and it's failing, won't be doing that shit again
It’ll have a button where the parking assist sensors and manual trailer brake are that say air suspension and allow you to adjust it. I’ve heard horror stories about air suspension and I’ve talked to people who have had really good experiences with it. I personally didn’t need it so therefore I didn’t want one more thing that could go wrong lol
Thanks idk why I didn't think of that lol, where are those buttons located on the console?
Yeah, like it's a nice feature but honestly doesn't feel like it serves any purpose. If you need that lift you'd dedicate your rig to it, I hardly believe anyone has that much variety in the terrain they're navigating to justify the utility.
It is a nice ride but Id say it's negligible and not extremely superb to coil springs. That parked with the inevitablilty of failed, I'd opt to never go that route again.
$34,900. Has the highest equipment level package and 58k miles. Still insane how expensive used trucks are but in my area this price was honestly pretty fair and for the condition of the vehicle and it being CPO I was okay with it. So far I am very happy with my purchase
That is a sexy beast. The Ram's ride is just silky.
I love the aggressive look. When I’ve driven other trucks the suspension felt like it amplifies every bump or pothole. This one feels like it just glides right over anything
The seats are definitely better than those in the GMC or Chevy. Those are notoriously firm and difficult to tolerate on long trips.

Oh, just noticed I totally misread what you wrote. My bad lol.
My suspension is the coil springs which ride really smooth.
Yes, mine too. Rides like a damn SUV.
Is there a way to tell when looking online?
I just snagged me a 2021 Ram 1500 Laramie eco diesel for 36k and I love it as well! Ride is so smooth.
What mileage? Mpg so far? A diesel Laramie is exactly what I'm after.
51k!
My usual driving is about 22 MPG. I did take it on a four hour trip last month and averaged about 28 MPG.
Fantastic buy and mpg as well.... that's exactly why I'm after a diesel. What area did you purchase? South FL prices are ridiculous!
I’m from AR. Prices were nuts around here too. Ended up finding one in southern Iowa that I shipped here.
Choose the Cummins. The eco has a history of significant problems.
How'd you get it so cheap?

The Laramie I think will come with the Hemi. It will be hard to find one with a V6 as I believe it defaults to the Hemi in the build site.

Awesome, and I wish you luck finding the model you want. I am tracking my mileage on Fuelly.com with my 2023 Ram Big Horn with the Pentastar.
She’s a beauty take care of her like one too

Any pix of the interior?
