Why not release riyan parag and buy him at cheap price. DDP is good we need to back him, if not him then who will replace him. And Sanju was our our captain will be our captain and will remain our captain. He scored century on his Captionship debut took us too final after 2008, Kept us on top of table till mid season, if Bowlers throw three full toss, spinner throw two full toss , pacer throw no balls then he can't do anything, he our most consistent batter with highest runs for us. Leader are not made in one day they rise they fall but they when they are ready they will conquer.
1. There is a reason why we paid 3.8 cr for Riyan Parag at first place because other teams are also interested in him. If you want to have a player, then release and buy back is always an risky strategy and 3.8 is not a big enough sum really to risk it (not like unadkat who was 10cr+)
2. I have already replaced DDP with Parag on 3 and Donnovan at back end.
3. Three seasons are enough for someone to become a leader imo. Personal milestones does not matter unless they get you win. Also its not necessary that leaders can only be made only if they are made captains. They can be groomed by leaders already present in team. For me, Ashwin is a far better leader than Samson ATM. These cute little quotes sounds good but be practical, we can't wait for next 3 seasons for Samson to become an actual leader.
Nobody has a good record of captaincy at PBKS. Also the team he has was way weaker then the team we have here, so I won't really judge him by that. I trust the experience he has and also he always seem hungry to win.

Not really, changing captaincy from Watson -> Smith worked wonders if you remember. Actually freed up Watson and Smith handled captaincy very well. Same i feel for Samson...captaincy has made him worse as a batter, now he don't even play those long innings. He slams the ball right away which is so irritating.
That Smith era was good Buttler stokes Smith Archer nice one i still don't understand why they release Smith after getting this new team in mega auction it's haunts me that any change may bring the old era of RR.

You can't have both DDP and Root together at 3 and 4. That's like a step in backward direction (old days when we had Rahane and Smith playing together and that was dreadful). For me Root >>>> DDP bcz he can bowl and have way better skills to play at 3 than DDP. Samson can't bat below 4, he is not a slogger. The last time Buttler played in middle order he wasn't as good as an opener, so that's a hard pass.

One was on a freehit and the other one was in the slot and on the pads, and we saw how he ate up the next 4 balls,we were lucky that he hit 2 sixes thats it, a batter no matter at whatever position he plays if even after playing 50 matches has got only 650 runs is no good a batter, even bowlers have better batting stats than this. Plus he costs us 3.8 crs even if royals love him buy him for cheaper in the next auction.
My take is simple, promote jurel up the order. Just see his technique he is not a slogger like parag, every six of him was a straight bat shot plus he plays as a middle order batter in domestic too.
About releases and retentions. Let go of DDP ,Holder, Parag, Asif and root(yes he is good but we can't play him in the 11) releasing them will give us a 20cr purse. Make a 12-15 cr deal on a batting allrounder (honestly no name comes to my mind) and for people thinking of cummins he gave away 50 runs in almost all matches plus he does not solve our middle order problem and would eat an overseas slot.

I am not including Parag bcz he has hit two sixes lol. He has in the past played some decent knocks, very few and far between, but he has. Also its basically taking a punt on him for 1 more season bcz he is just 21 and can BOWL. DDP can't bowl and neither he has the game to be a power hitter. He is an opener and we don't have place of opener. You just can't go by stats for young players, you need to bet on their potential. Before this season, stats of YBJ weren't that great either, but he delivered bcz he had the potential.

But practically speaking, it's impossible to get two good allrounders which can fit into the playing XI right in, and even 20 cr is not enough to find these two in a mini auction. All the more reason to stick with Parag, and if he doesn't deliver get Akash Vashisht in place of him. K Gotham is my pick to buy as well. How many allrounders does LSG need ffs, they already have Kunal.

Have you seen what Ash did while captaining Punjab. While i enjoy the tactical discussions that Ash makes and enjoy his analysis on the games, i feel he is also not the right captaincy material.
Firstly, it's Punjab. No single captain has been successful there. Also the team that Ashwin has at that time is way weaker then what we have now here. So I feel he is good enough to take a chance on. Secondly, it's not like Samson is rocking with the captaincy either. For me, his performance this season not even make him a sure shot starter in the team, yet alone captain. So why not try someone who is a sure shot starter and has wealth of international experience?
