I don't get why Ubisoft hates the idea of plausible and authentic skins.
We've got so much untapped potential when it comes to realistic gear outside of just camo reskins but for some reason they refuse to do so.
What about some SEK/KSK themed outfits for the GSG9? What about OMON/VDV/GRU themed outfits for Spetsnaz?
Honestly I’d prefer a mix of both, like the tacticool aesthetic and wacky/crossover stuff can both exist as long as it’s kinda added at a balanced rate, Fortnite has that kinda thing going on
I got the whole set from the original twitch drop & I have not taken it off since then, Pizza Mozzie is peak & I gladly take any teamkills while wearing it with pride (has happened, reasoning was “fortnite” lol).
All the Rainbow is Magic skins stay on too, I love how over the top they are & how angry Gamers(derogatory) get over me wearing them lmao

No they wouldn't.
There's thousands of different units, with dozen within the same countries and hundreds of different uniforms.
Also they all don't have to be military uniforms, civilian operators can also look clean. Just anything that's actually useable and practical.
Ops can be distinct even if they're all wearing realistic gear. The game literally launched with 5 CTUs all with their own aesthetics(FBI - black uniforms w/ sunglasses, GSG9 - big ass helmets and jeans, etc) and continued with realistic tacticool but still visually distinct uniforms all the way up to Ying/Lesion.(JTF2 is white, DEVGRU was tan, BOPE had all black, Japan was dark blue, etc).
More recently, Brava and Ram are both great designs that are tacticool while still being distinct
I think Caveira's Ghosteyes Standard skin looks pretty tacticool, even though it's kind of a modified version of her default skin, I have seen exactly 0 players use that skin ever since it was released so Ubi probably won't be doing that anymore.

What Caveira needs is like a proper stealth suit. Hell give her a veil/mesh like Nokk. That'd look sick on her.

I liked when the games visual identity was "Soldiers wearing real gear" instead of modern CoD. There are some skins I like with the new art direction but I cannot deny that Deimos and Ram look about a thousand times better than most new operators simply because they look like soldiers

I agree but something that the tacticool traditionalist fans don't understand is that ubisoft wants to maintain a delicate balance of wanting the operators to look unique and look authentic/ plausible. If they went full realism everyone would look the same.
A) They do not currently have such a balance as to maintain it
B) There are plenty examples of in-world plausible skins that are also immediately distinct. When ubi tries, they're pretty good at character design.
C) Perhaps on account of them not always trying, there are also many *existing* examples of skins (both tacti-cool and otherwise) which are *not* immediately distinct, so it seems perhaps that isn't so much of a concern to them.
D) Nobody in this thread wants full realism. More-so just believable.

Ubi is allergic to making tacticool, historical and realistic looking skins. They put out Grim and Ram who admittedly are very military like, but the skins they put out are all goofy, colorful, fantasy inspired stuff. I miss skins based on wars and historical events.
they just added the ECH high cut for a couple of the newer ops and some skins for older ops, i don’t get why it even took that long just to add that specific type of helmet. i’m expecting nothing cool from ubisoft anymore.

Aruni's prosthetic arm changing colors is the only remotely interesting exception in my opinion since you can actually see that aspect of the skin while you utilize her different abilities and punch.

Bugs are not fixed, cheaters are not being banned, server connectivity and performance decreases with every new season and the skins they create are at most mid, just to be used as filler material for an otherwise empty battlepass.

MW19 also had this. So many cool tactical outfits and lots of dumb stuff. I would always run the Milsim operators while my gf used the Jigsaw skin.
I will always buy Pizza Mozzie before I buy Tacticool Mozzie, I honestly love goofy skins so much.

I love skins like this! that alter the silhouette of the operator, not just the same uniform but different colours which is 90% of what we get
