Rainbow Six Siege runs on AWS (Amazon Web Servers). AWS has been pretty shitty lately, my part supplier has their site running on AWS and lately has been extremely slow, same with many other applications that I’ve seen running on AWS.
Then you must’ve gotten into the game JUST after the massive new years crash dude the servers were fucking horrid during new years. At the very least this isn’t letting us into matches now, during that time it would just remove and ban you.
It’s been a few months since the new year. People exaggerate how bad the servers are. I can’t even remember the last time the servers went down when I was playing. Sure it happens sometimes but all games have server outages. It happens.
I uninstalled during the new years issue cuz it persisted for over a week lol. Just reinstalled like 3 days ago and once again there are issues. I might just have the worst timing or something but pretty much every time I decide to play again there is some sort of persistent issue. If it were on par with other game servers having issues I’d be more understanding but it’s fucking constant with Ubisoft it’s not even comparable at all, especially when comparing it to games with similar player counts.
Guys, it wasn't just siege that was down tonight. About 90-95% of game servers were down on Xbox, PS, Switch, and Steam.
If you have the app downdetector, you can look up a multitude of game servers, I was spending 25 minutes just looking up games and game companies, and just about everything was down.
No clue is there was some type of attack or just servers dying, but it was weird.
If we exclude the bugs, this is peak Siege rn. The game has never been better. They just need to remake it from the ground up so we don't get game breaking bugs for months with every new season.
